This place is so good! It is right across from the beach and at night it is just charming sitting outside with the lights, perfect ambiance. The restaurant is a blend of Japanese, Filipino & Sushi. Our server Daria was so attentive and was spot on with all of her recommendations. Everything we had was wonderful. Tuna crispy rice had a nice touch of truffle oil. The tuna ceviche was so full of delicious flavors. Lumpia was another great app, very tasty and served piping hot. We were smitten by the delicious food options like the Bichi Crispy Mushrooms, the Shrimp Tempura and the Rainbow Roll (yes, it was my birthday and I am not counting calories). Everything was delightful, fresh and well presented! What I really appreciated was the music acoustics, we could actually hold a conversation without screaming at each other. The service is first class! Our server, Gustavo, was friendly and very knowledgeable with the menu. He gave my friend wonderful recommendations to match her diet restrictions. My only suggestion is to arrive early and look for parking. We were lucky to find a spot right in front of the restaurant, but there m's construction around the Miami Beach boardwalk. Sushi Bichi was a huge find in the North Beach area. I had not heard of it and found it via Yelp on a recent visit to the beach. What an amazing place. Loved the ambience. chill, dark, romantic. I would totally recommend visiting for a nice dinner date. Alternatively, if you love sushi as much as I do, then you go for the food. Fish offerings were A+. Crudos, sushis (nigiris), and roll were on point and prepared meticulously with a beautiful presentation which leave you mesmerized. I recently discovered @sushibichi located at 7330 Ocean Terrace in Miami Beach. This Japanese-inspired sun, surf & sushi beachside sanctuary is located just foot steps from the @miamibeachbandshell and has great happy hour specials and a few #vegan options too, and I not only enjoyed the ambiance, but I thought the food was amazing too! The Crispy Bichi Mushrooms with a zesty tofu dip, was a phenomenal appetizer, as the mushrooms were super crispy and great for dipping in the zesty tofu sauce, and it was loved by vegans and non vegans alike, highly recommend. The Japanese Eggplant Skewers served with a miso glaze and chives were phenomenal! The eggplant was grilled and soft and melted in my mouth and was really the star of the show, the miso glaze was perfect on this and I would definitely get this again. The King Oyster Mushroom & Asparagus with miso glaze and shichimi were also incredible, the veggies were grilled to perfection and the miso was the perfect dressing for this dish too. I went to a concert at Miami Beach Bandshell, after the concert walked towards the beach and found this beautiful gem!! It is a New Sushi place, beautiful decor. I sat at the bar with my friend, we had the cucumber roll appetizer (don't remember the name) but it was amazing, the presentation was beautiful, then we were undecided on what to have for drinks. The bartender was amazing, I think his name was Triton (not sure, I know it was a Greek God name). He was so amazing, it turned out he is a Sake Connoisseurs. And oh Boy! Did I learn about sake! He was so wonderful explaining to us about Sake and of course we got a bottle, not bad for $28! The owner stopped by to check if everything was good, very nice guy. This restaurant is in my neighborhood so I've been supporting them throughout all the renovation going on in the area. Now the bad. After 2 visits lately The quality of the sushi has declined significantly. The spicy tuna was bland. The hand rolls over priced and grade of fish not the best. Not even close. Their Caipirinha cocktail and spicy tuna crispy rice were the only two things I really liked out of everything we ordered, but not enough to come back. I also ordered a spicy Margarita- hands down the worst spicy margarita I've ever had. Their lemon drop martini...horrible. It's a rare occasion that will get me to venture from Kendall to the Beach. I'd sooner drive to Orlando! With Miami Spa Month in full swing and my birthday at the prime time to take advantage, I booked myself a full day of pampering. Since I was already on the beach I thought it would be a good time to checkout a local restaurant. After scouring dozens of menus, Sushi Bichi quickly stood out from the crowd. Reservations were made and my Dad met me for my birthday dinner. Is this the best sushi I've ever eaten? No, but I am very spoiled. Is it great? Absolutely. Some dishes were a hit times ten. Others were a little lackluster, but it's the service that really turns this review up to 5 stars. It may be because it was a slow night, but the service was extremely on point and attentive. Almost too much at times, however I'll take that over being ignored. As for the food, here's a rundown of what we had, and my .02 cents on them. Yellowtail Tiradito - Our server said she would not let us leave until we ordered this, and I'm glad we did. I wish the portion was a little bigger, but every bite was perfection. Scallop Ceviche - This is a miss for me. The ingredients list had me hoping for more. I think this would do better as a tiradito with a thinly sliced U-10 scallop, and matchsticks of the Asian pear. The pear was chopped very small with the ceviche along with bay scallops. I didn't really get any bites of the pear with the scallops so the dish didn't really come through for me. The walnut oil was also lost. Unagi nigiri - Pretty comparable to other restaurants. A little pricey per piece, but delicious. Japanese eggplant skewers - This was another miss for me. I would have loved if the eggplant was cooked down a bit more and was allowed to caramelize so it's like creamy butter on the tongue. The miso glaze was delish though. My Dad enjoyed it. Sakezo - SO GOOD. This is a must have i.m.o. I love lemon in sushi, and it's not always executed correctly. Often they leave the hard rind raw which ruins each bite. The cured lemon was perfection. I definitely recommend ordering this. Zenbu Naruto - Loved this one as well! Really fresh and light since there's no rice. It doesn't say it on the menu, but this one had mango in a few bites. Would have been nice if it was throughout. The sauce was so flavorful and delicate at the same time. Hammachiyatta - This one was ok. Not bad at all. But not mouthwatering/must have again. The jicama is just not my thing. I have to check my pictures but I think they sprinkled watercress on this one instead of the Zenbu. I'm not a fan either way so I just picked it off. Turon (dessert) - This was a spring roll with plantain and jackfruit served with vanilla ice cream and caramel syrup. It was good, but my Dad and I both wished it had a chocolate component, like a hazelnut sauce drizzle perhaps? Either way, it was a sweet and tasty end to a delicious meal. There were hardly any customers there around 1 pm, which always unnerves us, but the hostess was gracious and seated us quickly. This is a south beach treasure. They are not only serving five star food but have the best service I have had in the last 6 months. They take their time to know your needs and really focus on your experience. Eloy was an amazing server giving us suggestions to create an amazing tapas tasting experience. The food had classic sushi preparations with a south beach twist focusing on local flavors and Hispanic twist.
