You will see that I spent nearly $40 for what is in this picture that's quite ridiculous and the smaller roll was 100 times better than the Big roll. That was nothing but rice really. Went to this place on a whim because the all you can eat was cheap for Pittsburgh and not too far from our hotel. We all got a variety of rolls and all were very fresh. Our waitress was very attentive and kind. She even managed to bring us some gluten free soy sauce which was greatly appreciated! The restaurant itself is very clean and large. We had a group of about 7 and they were still able to give us separate checks (we did still get the service charge for the large group). Mother's Day, my husband and I walked right in and were immediately seated at 2:30pm, no wait. Yes I know, pretty early for dinner, but when it's AYCE, it's never too early! This wasn't our first time going but it certainly our first time without having to wait which was awesome!! Normally we don't mind the wait though because it's worth it. They put the thinnest paper thin sliver of salmon for nigiri (I could gently peel it off to see how see through it was) and some of the pieces of the rolls were missing raw fish. The salad bar was lack luster with random cut lettuce, seaweed salad and some kind of other salad. Waiter service was fine, however not worth the wait even joining the waitlist online before arriving. I didn't receive a text after joining and had to ask the front desk often on estimate wait time. I took my husband here for our monthly date night yesterday. We got there around 6:30 PM and they had an hour and a half wait. There was a QR Code you had to scan to be added to the waitlist. We added ourselves to the wait list because we read about the amazing reviews and we wanted to try Sushi Bomb. We hung out at a bar in the meantime and came back when we were called for our table. When we sat down Ivan got our drink orders and gave us some time to look over the menu. We were surprised to see that they did all you can eat sushi for $23.99/person. The sushi was so fresh and delicious - I am not sure if it was the long wait and being hungry or what but it was so good, I was in a food coma. We will definitely be returning to sushi bomb and I have bookmarked the waitlist so in the future we will add ourselves to prevent such a long wait. We waited 40 minutes at 4pm on a Sunday... for a party of 3. The miso was good, the iced tea was warm and the sushi was just okay. My mango roll was okay but my crazy monkey roll was awesome. I wish I'd gotten two of the monkey rolls they were so yummy. However my husband got the Habachi and as other reviewers said... over cooked and just gross. He took two bites and couldn't eat it. My husband loved his hibachi but they misunderstood his second order which left him with more food than he could eat and another charge. We definitely learned what not to do if we return. From fried rice to veggie tempura and hand-rolled sushi, this place gives you a bang for your buck! The decor and lighting are very beautiful; however, you don't have to be dressed fancy to eat here. We mainly went for the sushi, so I can't really speak on the side options. The sushi is made to order, and you get 6-8 pieces per roll. It took the server about 5-10 minutes to bring out our order, and he was very attentive the entire time. The food was really good, and I feel that the value far exceeds the price if you are interested in trying different items. Stumbled across this gem when our "go-to" sushi joint was way too busy to accommodate, and we are sure glad we did! Because of their low prices, we decided to order 3 regular rolls (6 pieces each) and 1 specialty roll (8 pieces). We went with a Spicy Tuna, Philadelphia Roll, Triangle Roll, and Crunchy Roll. My favorite is always the classic Spicy Tuna, but I really enjoyed the Triangle Roll. I didn't realize the Philadelphia Roll contained smoked salmon. I like salmon, but I don't prefer it smoked. The service is usually very good, BUT the wait can be long (I'm talking sometimes 3+ hours or more but to be fair to sushi bomb we've been quoted a 1.5hour wait that was only 11 minutes, but there is a bar next door you can grab a beer at). The issue with the wait and service really only becomes a problem if you wait 2 hours and then have 30min to eat they will let you know it and that can be awkward. Overall the important part here is that you're getting all you can eat sushi, hibachi, teriyaki, salad bar all for 25$; and for that its a great experience for me aside from the wait. Management is horrible. We went on waitlist there were 41 parties before us . We waited got down to 0 we went in . We had 9 people. We watched a table finish their food and paid their bill. Sat there for an additional 45 minutes. We went to management and they did nothing. Did not offer to split our party into 2 tables nothing. Would not ask the party to wrap it up nothing. I went to management a half hour after waiting and one of their hostess said I'll ask them to leave of course she did not. Waited another 20 minutes still nothing. The manager still would not help in anyway. Then he brings out his boss who couldn't even communicate with me. Of course the hostess says I never said that. Before we left to go to another restaurant my daughter walked over to the table and politely said it's common courtesy to leave after you pay your check. Only then did that table leave. Even if management did not want to address that table they could have offered to put us at 2 tables. All you can eat sushi, who could resist?! Sushi Bomb was one of my favorite sushi places in Pittsburgh because of the great value for pretty good food and a huge variety. The King Lobster Roll is always a go-to and the appetizers are always delicious. But key word here being...WAS. I was having a great time plowing my way through my miso soup when my California Roll order comes. Lo and behold, the sushi comes plated into the shape of hearts with a tacky red stem of plastic flowers potted in a seashell. My server, Andy, then proceeds to say it's a gift from one of the line cooks making the sushi at this establishment and then asks me if I'm Mexican. For a place I frequent, I was really upset by the uncomfortable situation I was put into. I was trying to enjoy a delicious meal with my partner and instead, I'm hit on by one of the employees who then proceeded to steal glances at me the rest of my meal despite being at dinner with my partner. Sushi Bomb was one of my favorite places but the food can only take you so far when the experience is ruined by unwarranted advances. First of all I asked about charging if we were able to split the food and the waitress said yes and she wouldn't charge us for two people but they did.
