I was so afraid of the name: "Express sushi? Is this the fast food of sushi places. Reluctant to try." But WOW! I can explain in one simple statement why this place is a winner: melt in your mouth rolls at a reasonable price ! Today I got the lunch meal: 3 rolls for 10.75. That's 18 wonderful pieces for $11.00! Now they are on the smaller side, so they all stack up in the small container, but their raw tuna, at least today, was wonderful. I love a roll that doesn't have one hint of fishy taste - this one was the one! I got Tuna Avocado Roll, a Spicy Kani Roll, and Spicy Tuna Roll. After the 10th piece, I felt pretty full...but I still powered in a few more bites. The Kani Roll was the only one that I felt just had a normal, average-sushi flavor. They are also very generous on the ginger and the wasabi! I was happy with everything except that my meal automatically came with soup. He didn't ask me if I wanted the salad instead, which the menu indicated as an option, but I didn't check this until later. Either way, I'm still giving five stars just for the rolls! read more

Sushi express has a great location! They are quick and courteous and their food/rolls are reasonably priced. There is nowhere to eat within so it is take out only. The first time I ordered from here I loved all the rolls. I went with eel avocado, avocado, and philly. My colleagues tried other variety's and enjoyed their rolls. I decided to reorder and they did mess up my order and give me a couple of the wrong rolls which bumped their review from 5 stars to 4. The food is good. I wanted to try something different for lunch than all the places we would normally order from so I chose Sushi Express. The delivery was on time and the delivery person was nice. The food was excellent. The chicken was moist and the veggies and rice was delicious. The Teriyaki sauce was yummy. And my son liked the hibachi plate that he got. I've just moved to this area and hit the jackpot on the first try. I got takeout and I go conservative on the first order - if you can make the basics well, that's a good sign for me. I got the California Roll and Fried rice. The sushi was really fresh and well done and the fried rice was. AWESOME. It had more of an Indian fried rice really - with red curry, pineapple and raisins. Not fresh, taste like previously frozen sushi. The spicy tuna was chopped fine, with fish flakes as filler. Eel was small and paper thin. Never again..Fuji on Kingshwy in haddonfield or Tokyo mandarin next to staples is always fresh and cut to order. read more

I gave four stars because for the price you really can't complain and for the most part, everything I had was good. Definitely the cheapest sushi I have ever seen and I don't think the quality is compromised for the price point that much. Great for people who can typically eat 21+ pieces of sushi (me) . However, some things with this place I think are a hit or miss. For example, the chicken tempura roll was...interesting and the ginger dressing was also weird tasting. But overall, I enjoyed my meal here and again you can't beat the price. read more

I go here due to good sushi and convenience they deliver but I suggest you pick it up for the simple fact when it gets to you it's warm it's about a 40 minute wait if you have it delivered 15 if you pick it up. It decent sushi not the best I've had but good enough for me to come back. I would go for the lunch special between 11-3 best bang for your buck. It's a task trying to get into the parking lot during rush hour. You have to pay for side of spicy mayo, the squid sauce is free with the meal even if you do not want it. They are accommodating when you say extra wasabi though lol (you'll see in my attached photo) it's affordable compared to regular sushi places or a hibachi. Speaking of hibachi NOT a fan of there hibachi rice at all . So I will stick to there sushi which I know is good. read more

Never write reviews, but just had to for this place. I live in Philly but am always in south jersey to visit the boyfriend so I'm always looking for good sushi and FINALLY the sushi gods have answered my prayers. I used the ordering feature on their website to order ahead of time for pickup and the sushi was ready on time. It came nicely packaged and they even labeled which sushi was tuna/salmon on the outside. I ordered the 3 lunch special - spicy tuna, spicy salmon, and salmon/avocado rolls. All tasted very fresh, rice was the perfect consistency and amount. The spicy tuna and spicy salmon had a bit of some sort of crispy rice(?) inside of it for a crunch which I didn't mind. Overall very impressed, only complaint would be that they could have made the avocado pieces in salmon/avocado rolI a little bit smaller (not a huge fan of large avocado chunks). I also ordered the shrimp shumai which was also pretty good. Wasn't quite like the shumai I get at dim sum restaurants, but still tasty! read more

This place exceeded my expectations, which is oftentimes very difficult to do. The order I placed online was exactly as delivered, which is sadly hard in this area. We were even given a free and freaking awesome order of spring rolls. California roll (don't judge me) was the best I ever had. I was so excited when this place finally opened up! We had a designated sushi place by Muscle Maker Grill but that is now a Thai place (excellent food too). Sushi express has great sushi, good presentation and it's very fresh! I can't wait to go back and try their Hibachi menu. Yesterday evening I ordered the shrimp shumai, tiger roll, and hibachi shrimp fried rice and needless to say I got food poisoning. This was the only meal I had eaten and was VIOLENTLY VOMITING at 2 a.m. I had to miss work today, robbing my students of learning. I usually order from here and know that they pride themselves of creating fresh dishes. UNFORTUNATELY, my dishes were the total opposite. I'm still recovering. I called the restaurant and spoke to the manager who claimed he did not know what the word "vomit" meant so had to put in plain English, "I got sick and threw up." He did very little to compensate and I told him I will not be returning/buying from his establishment and also will be blogging on social media. No happy at all. I placed a delivery order at 842 pm, after an hour without food I called the place to check on the order and they said "I'm around the corner". Giving the place the benefit of the doubt of it being a Friday night, I waited until 10 pm to call again and check in my order. The lady who answered the phone was kind and said it should be there soon. My food arrived at 1015pm cold, soggy and wet from sitting around. I only gave it 2 stars because the crab wontons were good. Everything else was ruined. Will not be ordering from here again especially with a $3 delivery fee for ruined food. read more

I only order vegetable rolls, and they've all been good! I love that they put extra effort into making their vegetable rolls as good as any other, not just an after thought. This is an excellent take out restaurant! I ordered via Yelp app and picked it up early. It was ready ahead of schedule and the man that waited on me was very nice. We had the spring rolls, chicken shrimp and steak hibachi with fried rice and clear soup, and rainbow roll, seaweed salad, California roll, and pork dumpling. The pork dumplings were to die for! So was the hibachi. So was the clear soup.The seaweed salad was better the next day after the sesame sesame oil had a chance to soak in. The portions were generous and we had leftovers for breakfast.
