We had lunch at Sushi Bang Bang in Boynton Beach today. We ordered the Edemame to start. Then we had BANG BANG LUNCH 4 pc. of California roll, 4 pc. Spicy Tuna roll & 6 pc.Salmon roll,. ( We also ordered the SASHIMI SPECIAL . Everything was delicious and fresh and very tasty. Thank you to Manager Alex for your warmth, great personality and professionalism. Alex made our experience really great by checking on us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed,. His warm smile and attention to detail was appreciated. Just an fyi - After I posted this review, the owner sent an unsolicited text to my wife's personal phone regarding our experience today, Sunday (9/6) - She did not write the review - but she paid for the meal. When we called to ask how he obtained her number, he told us that he retrieved it through the restaurant's rewards program. She found this invasive and inappropriate - and downright uncomfortable. We did call him per his request and we felt the conversation went in circles and did not resolve our concerns. Please do not contact her again by telephone or text. I am unsure of why you felt comfortable texting her personal number, that is not appropriate. The original review was as follows - We are totally disappointed - we used to adore this place and spend so much money here. We were happy to be there and enjoy the vibes of the restaurant. My wife and I were regular weekend customers when Peter and Savannah worked here (they were so wonderful to us and we miss them very much) - so returning for my brother's birthday was something we genuinely looked forward to. Unfortunately, the experience was deeply disappointing. During this visit, we found the staff's manner unkind and unwelcoming. I remember having two birthday parties there (one for myself included) and it used to feel so warm... what happened here? Despite a reservation for five and an environment that was not busy, we felt rushed to order and overlooked afterward. The waitstaff's attitude was unkind and dismissive. Requesting basic service felt like an inconvenience to them. There was no acknowledgment of the birthday and little effort to make us feel welcome. It was disappointing to bring my family somewhere we once enjoyed and spend the meal feeling uncomfortable. We were not expecting special treatment--just courtesy, attentive service, and a pleasant birthday lunch. Management needs to address both the service and the way guests are treated. Sushi Bang Bang. I heard great things about this place so I decided to come check it out with my coworkers during our break. They have nicely decorated section with fake Bansai trees and pebbles. Looks beautiful and clean. There are couple of other trees spaced out throughout the restaurant. The service was a little slow even though we were the only table there at the time. We ordered green teas, hamachi jalapeño app, and 4 rolls to try (green dragon, Hokkaido, sexy crunch, and sweet potato curry). The rolls were generously portioned (expect to pay $25-30 for specialty rolls), the visuals looked pretty decent (served on a small boat), but the flavors were on the bland side for me. The green tea was little too flavorful. The individual pieces of the rolls were little too big than what we were used to. The sushi rice was wet and there was too much rice used for the rolls. But maybe some customers who are used to this might prefer this style more than what I prefer personally. Out of the four rolls, in our opinion, the most unique one was the sweet potato curry roll. It's very different than the traditional rolls you will find at other sushi restaurants. Overall the experience wasn't bad. I might visit again next time just to make sure. But after the first time visit, I am a bit hesitant to recommend this place to others with certainty. Sushi Bang bang is located in a plaza that is hard to find from outside so make sure to follow your GPS. They offer some parking spaces in the plaza where they are located. I'm really disappointed with my experience here. My friend and I arrived before the restaurant even got busy, but somehow our server forgot to put in our food order. We waited about 45 minutes just for our appetizer, and during that time our waitress (short older Asian lady) kept avoiding our table even though I was trying to get her attention. When she finally came over and went to check on our order, I could see that our ticket wasn't even there. She spoke to one of the chefs and then came back and told us to give her another 10 minutes. when it had already been an hour. We had only ordered two basic rolls, so at that point we decided to cancel the order. What made the experience worse was the attitude we received afterward. The server was extremely rude about us canceling, and when I paid for our drinks and apps and I left no tip on their tablet , and she sarcastically said, "Thank you so much, have a nice day." The whole experience was frustrating and unprofessional. We were there before the rush, waited far too long for food that was never even entered, and then were treated rudely when we decided to leave. I will not be coming back. read more

I have such a love/hate feeling about Sushi Bang Bang. When they are Good they are Good....Take out from last night was mediocre at best. The rolls were so thick I couldn't use chop stick and it was hard to chew. There is NO consistency here at all. The fish was fresh which sometimes it is not. That was the only good thing. I've since found other restaurants not too much further from me where we like the sushi better but there's nothing wrong with this one. It would make for a nice place to eat on a date. I really enjoy this sushi spot. I sat at the bar and the service was great. Both the waitress and chefs were checking up on me with a smile on my face. Great ambiance with some cool glass fish pieces. They have great presentation on the sushi. The sushi was 12/10. It's super good. My favorite roll had to be the Blue Fin Roll! Change can be good... or not so good... First, congratulations to SBB for making the move to a larger space. This was my first chance to visit the new location (far East side of the same shopping center) and it offers a lot more seating, plus there is some new fun decor and a fun merch kiosk! The dim lit comfy setting is the perfect place to enjoy a meal and the food is just as delicious as ever. Unfortunately... That's pretty much all I got for the good. - Cons : * The new matte black plates show every fingerprint and smudge that accumulates before the plate reaches your table, not a great look. * Increased size and occupancy means less of the intimate service regulars have grown accustomed to. Waited longer for for 2 rolls tonight than I have for more on holidays when the old place was full, and an apathetic response when we tried asking about it. * New location must be on a different ventilation system, the place smelled of hot oil frying tempura for the whole time we were there. I love and have been coming to SBB for years, and this won't change that but if this is now the best they got, it's a step in the wrong direction... read more

Things we've gotten: - krab Rangoon's amazing flavorful, good portion size and sauce is delish - sushi appetizer portion size is good and the fish is fresh my husbands only complaint is he wishes they would switch up the options of fish. -summer heat roll - we love this roll It is something we crave weekly, it's perfectly cooked and the spicy krab on top is so so good. I've been here twice and the food was awesome the first time. It was completely different the second time. It depends on who the sushi chef is. Nice looking, good service. Interesting menu. Almost exclusively sushi. We started with soft shell crab which was really good. Fried but not overly crispy, nice sauce. Really tasty. Had steamed pork gyoza which were good, not amazing, but good. Then we had tempura shrimp that were very good. Also fried lightly. Very tasty. Had a black dragon roll which was delicious. Nice and crispy and really tasty. Had a roll called Jyst Mauied which tasted great but was just too big. Like each piece was just too big to put into my mouth and really who wants to bite a piece of sushi in half? But it did taste good. The last roll we got was the Blue Fin roll which was very disappointing. Weird consistency. Kind of mushy. Not good at all. So overall kind of inconsistent. And for about $50 pp, I'd say overpriced. A definite must try! If you're looking for something really creative and an extensive menu, this is the perfect spot! And really pleasant service. Upon entering the place where Sushi Bang Bang is at, I was pleased to see that there was plenty of parking. The restaurant itself is cleanly decorated, with great seating options, including some on the outside too which was great! The first thing we ordered was the Bang Bang Bomb, and the presentation was truly a gorgeous bomb of color with the seaweed holding the rice at the bottom and a mix of the scallops and massage with mayo raised like a crown with the avocado. Very messy bite, but completely worth it! I had to take 2 big bites and was amazed by the freshness and sweetness from the spicy scallops. Our second dish was the Hotto, I won't even try to describe the ingredients of this roll as there were so many, and the complexity in the flavors made for an exquisite bite! I was surprised by the cilantro flavors peaking through at the end, and mixed with the eel sauce and the generous portion of the king crab made it really enjoyable. The third dish ordered, was the Spicy Toro Tar Tar, and Wow! The plating of it was gorgeous!! I was really surprised when I saw the quail egg on top (as it is served raw). Thankfully I am quite adventurous and this didn't deter me from wanting to try it, and I recommend you do too. The freshness and creaminess of the tar tar was enhanced by the egg yolk from the quail egg, and the crackers used were just perfect! It gave for a fabulous contrasting texture, and the toasted sesame seeds on the toast kept bringing out a delicious nuttiness mixed with the blue fin toro and sauces. Absolutely craveable bite and mouth watering! On to dessert, of course... I can't say no to chocolate, and although it felt like an odd option in the menu, I decided to try their kahlua chocolate truffle cake with vanilla ice cream. I do recommend this if you love chocolate mouse and walnuts, it's creamy, just sweet enough, and the right texture with the nuts layer in the cake. All in all, completely worth it! And I can't wait to come back and try their lunch menu which seemed to have fabulous options! read more

On the recommendation of my especially handsome go-to sushi restaurant recommender I finally made it to Sushi Bang Bang! It's been right in my backyard for years and I've been sleeping on it! Highly recommend for the food and the friendly service. The ambiance is serviceable, and for this former NYC girl even a little fun to be packed inside so tightly you can easily eavesdrop on conversations at most of the other tables. People with more of a love for personal space will probably find it a little too close quarters...for this people I say go when the weather is nice because they have roomy outdoor seating! I tried the tuna tar tar app, the spider roll and the eel avocado roll, and three flavors of the Mochi ice cream. The app was very tasty and nicely presented. It also didn't fill you up, but was just enough to snack on while the rolls were prepared! The spider roll and the eel avocado rolls aren't exotic, but for me it's a good first test of a sushi place because if they can get those done right then their specialty rolls are probably worth the splurge (their special rolls are pricier than the standard rolls but that's pretty usual for a sushi joint). Both the rolls I had were excellent and hit the spot. My boyfriend had an old favorite speciality roll he likes and tried a second called the Bella. I tasted both (thank goodness he isn't territorial over food...though here I wouldn't have blamed him) and they were fantastic! And so pretty to look at. They had at least four flavors of Mochi ice cream and the order comes with three Mochi so we tried strawberry, mango, and what we were told was coconut but it was for sure something like pina colada. They cut it into nice pieces so the two of use easily shared and tried all three of the flavors. Also the Mochi on the outside actually had color and flavor...it was not just standard "mochi marshmallow" flavor..z that was nice. The wait staff was very friendly. The bathroom was an interesting experience...take your phone in with you if you want to check your face...it's black light lit and on the dark side. She suggested Sushi Bang Bang for its great location, ambiance, and food. We were delighted with the indoor atmosphere of the restaurant, especially the fish shaped lantern lights. The table also had very chic table lights on every table. We started with the edamame appetizer, which was very good. I have always loved my experience at Sushi Bang Bang, and tonight was my first visit in their new location. I placed my order and it took an hour for them to realize I never got any food. I never got the cocktail I ordered. And although my food was really delicious, nobody apologized about the delay, only a note to remind someone if it takes too long next time. I usually don't mind a wait, but an hour when there were many empty tables was just an unpleasant experience overall. I hope that my next visit I can give them the 5 stars I know they are. read more
