One thing I noticed right away though, was that there were no prices listed which felt like a red flag. We ordered the spicy tuna roll, tuna chicharrón, edamame, and another roll. The spicy tuna roll and tuna chicharrón were my faves. I even ended up ordering a second spicy tuna roll. The cocktails were also very good and tasted fresh. I definitely enjoyed the food and drinks, but when the bill came, I was shocked. It was over $200 which didn't feel justified for what we ordered. Well, to start off, wow! I did not expect what I ate. To start, I ordered a chicken karaage that I did not expect to be so delicious--crispy and tender and packed full of flavor. Then came some spicy dumplings, which were honestly the disappointment of the night; I did not like them one bit. They tasted like I drank regular sink water, and not the good kind. For the entree, we had ordered three sushi rolls, and I tell you, those really spoke for themselves. I'm used to going to regular sushi restaurants and not expecting anything too delectable about the sushi, but these were beyond amazing. Plus, the yuzu soy really added to the flavors. Each roll tasted nice and fresh, and the rice was perfectly balanced--not overwhelmed with rice vinegar and not soggy, so 10/10. The service was okay; I didn't expect much as we literally came in the final minutes of it being open. The ambiance was nice, very low-key, located in the plaza of Coconut Grove, a very nice and remodeled area. This restaurant was on a Mezcal Bar crawl that I attended in March. It happened to be the second stop on the crawl. My favorite drink on this planet is a paloma, and whenever I see a bar offers it , I make sure to order it. The one featured for the mezcal crawl was La Santa Paloma, which I do not believe is on their current menu. It seemed to be curated for the event we were participating in. The presentation of it was beautiful. But the taste was awful. Truly, too many competing flavors. It was made with mezcal, bed bell pepper soda, aperol, and Ancho Reyes. I am not one to send back drinks, but I was encouraged to by some of the other attendees. They were a little reluctant at first but they did switch out my drink for a regular paloma with Matasanta mezcal. This paloma was much better. All the sushi that came out was great! Had an amazing experience last night at Sushi Garage in Coconut Grove. My friend and I sat at the bar, and Chef Cristian came over and introduced himself right away. Since my friend is gluten-free, we asked for recommendations, and he immediately took the time to ask what we liked and if we had any allergies. Chef Cristian then created an incredible five-course tasting for us, explaining each dish as it came out and even ending with dessert. It truly felt like we were having a private dining experience. His knowledge of flavors, ingredients, and food pairings was impressive, and every bite was delicious. The service was warm, personal, and unforgettable. We went after going to puppy yoga. This place was super cute. We ordered chicken fried rice and it was a huge portion that half of it came with us. We showed up on a Halloween night. The restaurant was very empty, but I've had sushi here before and I know it's good. We ordered the spicy edamame. A rainbow roll and a salmon roll. What a great place. Located at the heart of coco walk, it has outdoor dinning, bar area and indoor. We sat at the bar and the bartenders were welcoming and helpful. We ordered the house miso soup and two orders of shrimp tacos per my friend's recommendation. They were quick in bringing out the dishes. The miso soup came in a fun presentation (missing the pic), and was rich and warm. Exactly what I needed. The tacos were next, and they didn't disappoint. Perfect breading consistency, and seasoning paired with pickled red onions, avocado and magic sauce. Sprinkle some lime and now I'm hungry all over again just reminiscing. Been to this location several times with family and friends surprised I have not written a review but after last night, felt compelled. We went for happy hour which to their credit, to extend happy hour on the wknds is great. However if you do not have servers that can attend to tables, not great. We did not have a server the entire evening. We apparently had the manager take our order, ordered spicy tuna crispy rice, salmon sushi , spicy fish taco, salmon/avocado roll and sake. The food was good, but there was literally no service yet when the bill came, there was 20% gratuity but for what, to who? I asked who was the server, and they admitted, we did not have one. It affected our experience as service can make or break an evening. Not sure if it was an off night or overwhelmed because of the holidays time but disappointed as Sushi Garage used to be a favorite on the beach and was excited it opened in the Grove but they had not maintained the caliber we expected. Visited December 30th with a party of four. The restaurant wasn't busy, but service was terrible from start to finish. Our server was clearly uninformed about the menu, confidently giving us incorrect information about the nigiri platter (said 9 pieces when it's 7, said it came with rice when it didn't). When you're deciding what to order based on what's included at a certain price, accurate information matters. If she wasn't sure, she should have asked someone instead of guessing. Dishes came out at completely different times, and one appetizer never arrived despite multiple requests to our server and other staff. We had to ask for it to be removed from the bill ourselves. When we finally got a half-hearted "sorry," it felt dismissive rather than genuine. No offer to remedy anything. Our server's demeanor was extremely laid back and oblivious to our visible dissatisfaction, lacking basic professionalism throughout. She may have been new, but that doesn't excuse the complete lack of care. The kicker: automatic 20% gratuity for a party of four. That's higher than the standard 18% and typically reserved for larger groups at high-end restaurants, not places like this. No wonder there's zero motivation to provide decent service. The food and drinks were mediocre. As someone with a hospitality background who tips well even with subpar service, this experience was unacceptable. Do not recommend. read more

Where do I start.... I've basically been coming here since the place opened. I'm a sucker for a good happy hour and if you are too, this is the spot to be at! I always get a carafe of sake and a couple bites, including the tuna sashimi, avocado/salmon roll, noodles, edamame, etc. the portions for the sashimi can honestly be a little more generous in my opinion, so if you want something more filling, go for the noodles or maki roll! The drinks are on point and you have many options. You also can't beat $2 Saporo's! I normally come here with a group of friends. Service is quick and you wait almost no time for the food to come out. I do suggest making a reservation in advance for happy hour, if you have more than 3 in your group. The inside decor reminded me of an industrial look. And the service was attentive. I like that this location is placed in CocoWalk so it's a nice area to walk in after you're done eating or prior. My most recent visit, i was pleasantly surprised with new menu items, unexpectedly, the tofu was my new fave! They also had a crispy-rice avocado that was delicious! My disappointment came with the new cocktails on the menu, the first drink I ordered was not enjoyable at all so i sent it back, I ordered a different one, from the prior cocktail menu (the bartender said she knew how to make it), and I also did not like it. I did not complain, but I should have. I felt bad, didn't want to be that annoying person complaining about everything, but the cocktail was again NOT drinkable.
