Salmon and Salmon Avocado maki, Inari, Ninja roll
    Rayna A.

If you're on a budget and need a sushi fix, this is for you. If you're used to elevated sushi, then hard pass. Portions were generous but the food was just all right. I didn't care for the seaweed in the rolls or miso soup. Surprised to not like the miso soup. The poke was all right but nothing to write home about. A lot of cucumbers with the minimally season, tuna. The green Dragon roll and inari were good. Ninja roll really had a lot of cold tempura batter given the size of the shrimp. Still better than deli sushi. I appreciate that the avocado was fresh and every single item that had it. The fish wasn't the freshest, but it was OK. Overall, good enough to eat, but maybe not to return. Again I thought the prices were really budget friendly so maybe try it if you want something a little bit better than what you can get at the grocery. Dine in might be different but I opted for takeout.

Good quality sushi at good prices, if you come at happy hour! Service is minimal, you sit and they will bring you water and if you would like to order something specific, it takes a long while to catch any of the waitstaff's attention as they hang in the back or near the register. Nonetheless, I definitely think it's a worthy place to go to at happy hour.

Never again ! This has to be one of the worst sushi I have had . I didn't come here looking for something great anyways but what I received was way below my already low expectations .It was late and they were one of the few things nearby that was open ,so we decided to give them a try . Bad idea on our part . The food was dismal -like literally nothing tasted good ,not even the soy sauce . Service was alright and Pricing is at par with the quality of food here .

Love the decor here! The sushi was amazing, and the service was super fast and attentive. We definitely went all out on sushi and I couldn't even get a picture of everything! I did snap a shot of the California rolls though! Super fresh, filling, and flavorful. The dragon roll was incredible (the eel was perfectly sweet), and the spicy twin roll was a hittt loved the spicy salmon and shrimp tempura crunch inside. Definitely coming back!

Me and my kids love sushi Hada we come here for the happy hour. We all leave full for usually under $40 which is a great deal. The staff are friendly and always on top of things making sure we are good to go.

Ordered to go. Overall rolls were reasonably priced but lacked flavor, some too salty, and way too much rice. I ended up removing a good portion of the rice because of this. Perhaps the experience is different if you order in person! So I cannot comment on service or ambiance.

We happen to just come across this place as we were hungry not expecting much. Great clean place, sushi was fresh, good portions. Price was normal. Service was quick, we were seated quickly around 6pm.

Super glad to that this place was open on a snowy day. The server working was super friendly and attentive. She was the only one serving and bussing and did it all with a smile on her face, amazing! Parking is primarily street parking. This place is known for their conveyor belt sushi which is one of my favorite ways of eating sushi besides AYCE. You could also order a specific item if you something you want doesn't pop up on the belt. We did find everything to be a bit salty and the fish quality is decent. What threw me off was the Philadelphia roll was really salty. We ended up eating more of nigiri than rolls. The prices were super affordable and this could be a great place for a decent lunch.

Stumbled across this restaurant and decided to give it a try! Plates were reasonably priced and each plate is priced differently according to its color. Onto the sushi itself, the salmon tasted super fresh! But there was an overwhelmingly rice-to-sushi, so I had to remove most of the rice. The tuna was fresh, but didn't taste very good. Also, although they didn't close until 10pm, they stopped putting out sushi on the conveyor belt at 8pm. There was very little selection to choose from, so you had to order from the waitress instead. I felt like this really took away from the experience of coming here for "conveyor" belt sushi.

We visited on the Fourth of July and the service and food were rather underwhelming. Our group originally found the place on Yelp looking for a sushi restaurant that was open, and opted for Sushi Hada. In summary: while the salmon tasted fresh, all of the other fish were just okay. The conveyor belt sushi was a pleasant surprise but the upkeep of it could've been better, the sushi lids felt unsanitary and some plates had lids half off (and continued making rounds). The service the day we visited was very minimal and we found it difficult flagging down waiters. On the conveyor belt, they also have cakes. They hand you a menu that displays what each color plate's price is, and you can also order off of this menu if you can't see what you want from the conveyor belt. The general ambiance is very quiet. We were visiting Portland from CA and overall it was a disappointing experience, but it seems like a solid place if you want something quick to grab since the sushi is already made and ready.

Ordered from menu... salmon belly, hamachi, creamy scallops

A solid value in price, portions, and freshness. Conveyor belt sushi (CBS) in this tough economy typically turns into razor thin slices of fish, a wide variation of rice quantity, and a limited variety that usually ends up being the "71 ways of creating salmon based rolls". It's tiresome and makes me NOT want to visit conveyor belt sushi establishments. Sushi Hada as of Sept'23 doesn't follow those typical cost cutting measures. They still have nigiri proportions that would satisfy the artistry side of sushi, their variety is self evident on the menu selections... escolar?! And not in the highest tier plate? Bright red tuna? Creamy scallops made properly with ample mayo? Differentiation of salmon vs salmon belly? Say it ain't so... but it is. The freshness was there as well on this particular afternoon. Also service that actually comes up and asks several times if we wanted additional items off the menu. Granted today was not busy at all but it shows they want to serve and not just stand around. I don't expect many CBS like Sushi Hada to be around, but I'm glad I know of this one. One minor critique is the rice portions are too generous for nigiri size... taking away some of the focus on the actual slice of fish... yes, I just complained about generous rice portions...

Sushi Hada was a nice surprise find for us. Our family of four had a craving for some sushi on a Sunday afternoon and we decided to try this highly-rated restaurant. The interior was modern, clean, and spacious. Service was prompt and courteous. The selection that was available on the conveyor belt was mostly rolls as expected for the majority of their American customers. We decided to order our nigiri favorites from the menu and they were brought to us right away. We were pleasantly surprised to see how fresh each dish was and we thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The prices were also very reasonable. A similar kaiten sushi in the greater Seattle area would have cost us over $200. Our lunch bill, and we were completely full, was barely over $100. A great PDX cheap sushi spot for sure!

I thought they were going to be fillers but they tasted great and actually put new fish I've never had before on the map for me! Some of my favorites were - kanpachi - kome buri - ama ebi - salmon (I liked it more than the king salmon, maybe I have peasant taste) - toro The omakase was well thought out as you can see and we even enjoyed the miso soup. I think the price tag of $100/person can initially be steep but you can easily spend this much on these nicer orders. I was also worried they might drop the quality during the AYCE portion but it continued to be delicious and service was consistent throughout (there was another group of 13 people so service was a bit slow having to divide time between the rest of the restaurant and them). I highly recommend this place and will for sure come back. Some delicious quality fish and my new favorite if I'm coming hungry!

With a combined 115 years of experience this restaurant shines with what feels like authentic sushi. We were there with a group of four and were seated promptly for our reservation at 5:45 PM. Our server Ben was an absolute delight and brought vibrancy and genuineness to his service. So shoutout to Ben. I was a bit disappointed that they were unable to accommodate my Tokyo Tea request for a cocktail (I'm always about efficiency when drinking ) but the cocktails that we did receive were elegant and refreshing. But now to the meat of the review or should I say fish? Service was average, but the food more than made up for it. Because of that first experience, we decided to place a fairly large takeout order for a family dinner last night. Big mistake. We were told the order would be ready in 30 minutes. We arrived on time only to discover they had not even started preparing it yet. The explanation was "a computer issue," but nobody called us to let us know there would be a delay, and no real apology was offered. By the time we finally got the food, we were already late for dinner and had to head straight home. When we opened the bag, the nigiri had been packed so poorly that everything was jumbled together in a heap. We literally spent 10 minutes trying to reassemble the sushi ourselves. What disappointed us most was the way management handled the situation afterward. We called expecting that a restaurant positioning itself as upscale would want to make things right. Instead, the manager argued with us, reviewed security footage, and claimed that because we briefly checked the bag at pickup, the order must have been fine when it left the restaurant. We checked that the boxes were there -- we did not open every container because we trusted the restaurant to package the food properly. The bottom line: the dine-in experience may still be worth it because the food itself is genuinely very good, but based on our experience, order takeout at your own risk.
