No drinks, no food, no, "Hi, I'll be right over". So we left, unfortunately. In a nutshell; pretty ok place with a nice selection of food, sushi's ok, ramyun's ok, pretty ok all around. Though far from what I'd dub as number one sushi as it's name eludes, I'd still be more than welcome to pick this place to dine in at and get some good food to pass the rain or some time at. The waitress was certainly accommodating, was seated fairly easily, and my order didn't take too long so all really good traits to start. It almost felt diner like as opposed to a Japanese feel type of establishment, but that didn't really deter too much from the food in my opinion. Sushi tasted alright and it had a good amount of rolls for my one order of sushi. Ramyun was certainly as it's intended very instant like but more dressed up in a sense, tasted as ok as I thought it'd be. If I do have one qualm, is that , my booth seat seems to not be bolted down so at times it would move and collide with the wall so sometimes I'd feel I'd have to be very careful adjusting and what not. Tried sushi here for the first time as takeout. Called in the order on a weeknight dinner time and it was ready in 30 min. I was initially thinking their rolls were too pricey (just under $60 for 3 special rolls) but when I opened up the boxes, boy were they fat rolls! Super filling. So flavorful didn't even need to dip in wasabi and soy sauce. The avocado was a bit more brown than green. I don't think I'd get the Sushi Boy roll again though, it was too much imitation crab inside. Their ginger is good. read more

We've always enjoyed eating at Ichiban because it's decent foods and most importantly, the service was super friendly. But at some point, their service started to feel a little pushy at times. A couple of friends and I were excited to visit this restaurant. Unfortunately, we waited 15 min for someone to acknowledge us , nobody came by to acknowledge or take our order. There was only 1 other couple there at that time. The waitress was completely ignoring us. As a local business owner I was very disappointed. Where was the customer service? Slow service, our poor waiter seemed overwhelmed the entire time. We got bento boxes for the girls- I then felt something crawling over my toe & it was a couple of roaches. One scurried further under the table, so we waited for a bit to ask our waiter to pick up the roach. Our entree rolls came & I was just creeped out after this. I realized the waiter didn't discard our the roach or the napkin she used to smoosh it with on the ground- she went about her business and discarded the fact that she just killed a pest in front of us. The roach and guts on the napkin stayed on the floor until face up until we left! I even asked the lady that wasn't waiting tables to clean it up immediately and she didn't. Definitely disappointing and we did not finish our food, mostly because it smelled and tasted somewhat fishy and we were afraid of getting food poisoning. The fish was definitely previously frozen. Mostly flavorless, except for the fishy part. The service was good, the waitress was attentive. The overall atmosphere was OK, nothing too exciting. An older Asian lady who I'm assuming to be the owner of the restaurant was EXTREMELY rude when I went to go pick up my order. Thankfully, one of the workers there intervened and helped me with getting my food and out the door. Other than that, the food was great and very delicious. Ichiban is a good place to go. However, when I went there with my family today to dine in, it was so hot in there. Dining in someplace, especially a sushi place, you'd think it would be nice and cool inside with the 3 digit heat outside. We all know that it being hot in there and having raw fish isn't a good mix either. We couldn't stay to dine in because it was very uncomfortable and we were sweating so we took it to go. I'm a little disappointed it wasn't cooler, and whoever the owner is; this is a good way to lose customers that will go dine in someplace else where it's nice and cool inside like it should be. I'm pretty sure you get enough customers to accommodate paying patrons a nice cool spot to enjoy their meal with family and friends. I would have rated it a 5, but it was too dang hot in there. I think one of the owners who used to be one of the servers is no longer there, hence the decline in service. The Sushi is on point... The service was a little slower but not so slow that it is a problem. The Restaurant isn't to cold or to hot it is just right in that oh so in the know sweet spot for sitting having a meal rain or shine. The benches are a little stiff but not bad. The staff was on point; they didn't linger and pester. The ambiance was perfect for a quiet dinner date with a partner or a dinner meeting with work colleagues. They are decently priced and worth the money they charge. The sushi rolls are freshly made when ordered not premade. No complaints from me. The food is hot or cold depending on what you had ordered. Sushi is cold; Soup is hot. The Rainbow roll and the caterpillar are to die for; the tiger roll and the California roll are also very good. I always order those and a Tempura Shrimp Roll. They have Hot/Spicy Rolls and Mild/Spicy rolls for those who like a little kick. And for those of us who can't eat spicy the rolls list also has flavorful yet not Spicy/Hot Rolls. All their Sushi rolls I've had a taste of are None the less tasty and I highly recommend for those who want a good meal at a decent price. read more

I had heard some good things about this place, so I was excited to try it out. Being that I eat primarily plant-based, I was happy to know that they had plant-based options. My experience at the restaurant could have been better. The food was not exactly what I expected but I guess, I should not expect too much from a place that serves primarily fish. I do appreciate their ability to be flexible and to cater to our specific dietary needs. The agedashi tofu tasted great. But there was some thing about the sushi I just didn't sit right with me. The taste was bland, and it did not seem as though the wasabi that we had was strong enough to add to the soy sauce mix that I usually would make. Perhaps what disappointed me most was the amount of flies that were in the restaurant that kept making its way towards our table. On top of that, our table was sticky to the touch along with the menus, and I felt very uncomfortable, almost unsafe, eating there for those particular reasons. It also seemed as though there was a lot of movement in the kitchen, and the sushi bar did not look very sanitary. There were dozens of to go trays, sitting on top of the sushi bar. Everything was cluttered and disorganized, and it made me wonder if the kitchen in back is similar. I left satisfied from my hunger, but not completely satisfied with taste. I don't know that I would be visiting this place again anytime soon. read more
