I came here for lunch around 1 o'clock and it was never too busy. There was plenty of parking space in the lot. The customer service was always good. The asked me if I wanted any extra condiments and reminded me to grab some utensils. The bento boxes are so worth it! I got the teriyaki chicken plate which came with chicken rice, a side salad, 4 CA roll pieces, and some tempura. The chicken wasn't dry at all and you also got the option to choose which type of salad you wanted. I was also able to ask for all vegetable tempura. I love the CA rolls and the tempura as well. It tasted pretty fresh and not like it was sitting out. This place is definitely worth trying if you're looking for a cheap and quick lunch. :)

I give this place a very well earned 3.5 stars. I got the beef teriyaki lunch plate that came with salad, half a California roll, and tempura. The teriyaki was marinated well so if you like to add teriyaki sauce to your meat you won't need much if any. For the salad you get your choice of 3 plus a choice of around 5-6 salad dressings. The tempura was ok and had its own dipping sauce. Inside the place was clean and the service was pretty quick. I'm sure I'll be back again

Chicken & Beef teriyaki $6.50 with CA Rolls (4 pcs) add $2.50 I ate 2 pieces before taking the pic lol

3.5 Stars This place is located on the south side of Arrow Hwy, west of Irwindale Avenue. It's right next to Pitas To Go. They open at 10:00AM which was convenient for me because I was going to pick up food and have an early lunch with my friend who works down the street. I came here yesterday to pick up lunch to go. My friend wanted Beef Teriyaki ($6.50) and I decided to go with Chicken & Beef Teriyaki ($6.50). I added the 4-pieces of California Roll for an added $2.50 to our meals. It also came with a side salad and there were a few dressing to pick from. With tax, our total was $19.58. The man who took my order had a Korean accent so I asked him if they were Korean and immediately he seemed to warm up to me. My husband is half so I used a few of the Korean words I knew. LOL My to-go order was ready within 5 minutes. I thought both the beef and chicken teriyaki were pretty good. Next time I would ask for the sauce on the side though because there was too much for my liking. He did give me the option to put it on the side and I should have went with it! The California Rolls were just okay though. I've had better and these fell apart when I tried to pick it up with my chopsticks. Overall, decent food for a decent price. (We're in Irwindale after all.....) 28/100 Reviews 2017

Chicken teriyaki & mandarin salad w/sesame dressing. Yum
chito m.

I used to come here pre-pandemic and their teriyaki sauce was spot on delicious. I loved ordering the chicken teriyaki plate with mandarin salad & sesame dressing. Just came back here for lunch after many many months, expecting the same great quality I experienced before but something changed. The chicken seemed bland. The teriyaki sauce was dull. It was slightly more gelatinous. It lacked the sweetness and pow it previously had. So sad because this was once one of my favorite places nearby. I hope he improves the quality of the plate so I can come back for more. Just finished eating it and I'm still craving the old recipe.

Teriyaki Beef and Chicken with Rice

Really good sushi at a reasonable price. They have lots of variety, from $9 bento boxes to $6 rolls and rice dishes. It's a great place for people to go during lunch break, especially on a nice day where people can sit outside. I've tried the spicy tuna, the crunch (tempura shrimp), and the salmon rolls, which are delicious. The curry and teriyaki rice dishes and bento boxes are a big pricey, but they are all very filling.

This brisket sandwich was so surprisingly delicious, I was speechless! They note on the menu it is…read moretheir famous sandwich and I DEFINITELY understand why. The brisket is so tender and very ample, but it's not fatty, it's very lean. The pickled veggies add that nice crunch and balances out the flavors of the meat and light mayo. The cilantro and greens are classic Viet additions and greatly appreciated! Add some pickled jalapenos and that bite is just HEAVENLY! 10/10 (note: the beef consume was just ok haha it was nice to have on the side but I didn't like the dip like I normally do with things like birria tacos) THE FRIES! I love these fries! I asked for light seasoning and it was PERFECT. The crisp was perfection (lightly battered) and the inside was still nice and soft. I love me a good side of fries, this was a pleasant surprise! Now the Santa Ana pho was good, but I don't think I'd order it again. The flavors weren't unique enough for me to justify the hefty price tag. They were generous with the meat, but for nearly $30 after tax/tip, that's a bit too much for me. If you're a light eater, this could feed 2 people!! I would order a different pho next time though as the broth was pretty clean (didn't taste too salty) and they do offer extra noodles for free! Overall, I definitely plan to come back! Come check out this place and MAKE SURE to get the brisket sandwich!! Parking was great and it's inside the Glendora Public Market so there are plenty of options for your fam and friends. Seating was ample, space was modern, it was a great Sunday hang. Note: as with most food halls, it's self service for most things. Bus your own tray and I recommend bringing your own water or grab a drink at one of these places!

I ordered the Tai Lan, which is a fun cross between phở and a noodle salad. Sliced tender ribeye sits over garlic oil phở noodles on a bed of greens and fresh herbs, tossed with a shallot tamarind sauce, topped with crispy garlic, and served with a side of their 24-hour bone broth to sip or pour over. The ribeye was genuinely tender, the tamarind sauce had a nice tangy-sweet kick, and the crispy garlic tied it all together. Added some sriracha for a little more flavor and to give it a kick. Best phở I've ever had? No. But it's a clever modern take and I left very full and very happy, which is exactly what I needed. And if phở isn't your thing, the menu sprawls into wagyu phở, garlic noodles with filet, lomo saltado, sandwiches (which look amazing) and even Vietnamese coffee with sea salt foam. Plenty to explore. This is now the first spot I'd send anyone to in the Glendora Public Market, and a real step up from the ramen place that used to be in the same space. Already plotting my return.

If customers want the more exciting menu options, customers must call 2 to 3 days ahead and reserve those dishes also. Concerning payment, this business only accepts Visa, Master Card, Cash, Zelle, and ApplePay.) My family and I arrived on Thursday, Thanksgiving Day (around 1PM). I'd made a reservation the day prior since I'd been searching for businesses that stayed open during Thanksgiving. Parking is very easy. The private lot is spacious with many spots. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. Staff mostly spoke Mandarin; however, there was one staff member that could fluently speak English. Staff is very helpful and professional, and staff answered all our questions. We ordered seven dishes; all the dishes arrived within 38 minutes and 16 seconds. Good pace. The Salt & Pepper Fish Filet ($14) arrived in nine minutes. Then, six minutes later, the Beef Chow Fun ($13) and String Bean with Minced Chicken ($14) arrived. Then, 10 minutes later, the Combination Fried Rice ($17) and Salt & Pepper Shrimp ($17) arrived. Lastly, around 14 more minutes later, the Scallion Oil Chicken (Half - $17) and Almond Tea ($7) came. We happily devoured these delicious dishes. The Salt & Pepper Fish Filet had a thin, crisp crust with hot fish. It's gently seasoned. The Beef Chow Fun had springy, bouncy noodles. Its beef came very tender but a little lukewarm. The String Bean with Minced Chicken tasted clean and fresh; its chicken came tender and juicy. The Combination Fried Rice had plump shrimp, tender beef, and moist chicken. I especially loved how the rice felt hot & fluffy. It was well-seasoned. The Salt & Pepper Shrimp tasted crisp, plump, and well-salted; these shrimp were fried perfectly. The Scallion Oil Chicken tasted very tender and juicy. And the Almond Tea felt hot, velvety with the fresh aftertaste of almonds. Every meal felt clean and fresh. All in all, we appreciated how every dish lacked that overpowering/masking flavor. "TASTY!" Concerning ambiance, Sands Chinese Restaurant (Irwindale) is clean, sleek, and minimalistic. The tables and floors are very shiny. There's about seven tables inside. There's also a customer restroom in the back. The location is also well-ventilated as soft music plays in the background. Overall, my family and I had a lovely experience at Sands Chinese Restaurant (Irwindale). The food is fresh, filling, affordable, and delicious. If curious, I definitely recommend. 5 out of 5

I remembered this place from awhile back and as the first time, it was still so good. I do believe ownership may have changed as the name of the restaurant now reads "Sushi." I ordered the Korean ramen and - oh man! - this hit the spot. The broth was rich and spicy with undertones of kimchi flavorings. There was "egg flower", disks of fish cake, green onion, and shredded seaweed. By itself, this was plenty - but because "more is more" I also ordered the spicy tuna roll. Everything about it was so tasty, spicy, and typical for a spicy tuna roll. The menu is diverse with a range of lunch size and larger bento boxes of various combinations. Everything looked good! They also offered several styles of udon and yakisoba in addition to the pre-fixe salad bar: oriental salad, tomato salad, and one other that I forget. Service was amazing! The owner made us feel like we were visiting a friend's house. So much so that we also got spam musubi, just for asking (it's not on the menu). This was also delicious- picture the perfect portion and crispy edges all the way around. Oishi!! (As they say in Japan). As it had always been, this place is a keeper!!

This is long overdue. Draft needed to be shared hehe. Been…read morehere several times now and it's always delicious and made with attention to detail. Eduardo the owner is ALWAYS very attentive and full of joy to serve us. He checks on us to make sure everything is ok with our orders. Kiren the other owner has been awesome too, since our first visit. She was concerned my daughter wasn't eating. Also, always checking in on us. She remembered us the second time we came and asked if my daughter if she was doing better because the first time we were there she had morning sickness so she couldn't enjoy her food. I love finding hidden GEMS, especially Mexican restaurants, with real Mexican food!! What can I say ?! We love it ! Five times here. No regrets. Always good. Food is delicious! Service is AWESOME! Always so friendly, warm, & helpful since the first time we found them. . :D Can't believe it took me so long to find this hidden gem living nearby and around here all the time. How did I find it ?? Well, how do I, and we all, find all my / our favorite restaurants? I Yelped of course !!! :D I was in the area looking for a good place to eat. I yelped Mexican food and TA DA ! I would have never found it, since it's sort of hidden in an area less traveled, in the shopping center across from the West Covina Mall, behind sushiholics & The Bundt place. Same center where Panera is & Sushiholics, except it's on the back side street, on California Ave. I would have never walked over there, on the backside of the shopping center. Just happy to have found it now! Besides GREAT SERVICE, GREAT FOOD ! We are suckers for birria. So 1st time here we had birria chilaquiles with over medium eggs plate, quesabirria, and ramen birria hehe ! YUMMM Yes, it was good, a little spicy for me, but good. I always have to clarify how I want my eggs at restaurants because believe it or not some cooks don't understand that over medium means soft yolks. They sometimes bring me over hard and that's not what I ordered. Over medium eggs have to be just right! No runny whites and no hard yolk. I explained that to Eduardo when ordering because I didn't want hard or soft; runny & gooey whites ewww. So I'm always very specific. Eduardo said no problem, if we don't get them right we can remake them for you. :D Woohooo ! They were perfect! Not many places get it right the first time, so they always remake them, but not here ! PERFECTION !! Thank you Eduardo!! I was happy ! Can't forget about the coffee!!! Oooh coffee! We love coffee so when the owner told us iced coffee ! Whoa ! Our eyes lit up ! YESSSSS please! It was good as well and when she saw we had finished it, she offered us a free refill. Thank you my new friend! You're the best !!! You made our day !!! We were like we're coming back !!! 2nd time, I had bulgogi breakfast bowl with over medium eggs ! I love eggs with beef ! Who doesn't ?! lol Eggs were perfect ! Beef was perfect too ! My grandson ate all my bulgogi though lol! I guess he liked it too. 3rd time on Friday 7/25/25 Eduardo always very cheerful & welcoming :) I ordered the chicken salad lunch, daughter ordered the green pozole! She's a sucker for green pozole hehe. I loved my salad! It was perfect! The chicken was perfect, pulled pieces with a green dressing that was whoa soooo YUMMMM ! This is making me hungry now. Daughter said pozole was good too Of course we will be back !! Need to try to yellow curry ! Next couple times had to order some previously had dishes like Birria ramen, tacos, pozole and chicken salad. Eduardo also accommodated my grandson, as he loves chicken but we get him grilled chicken. So he made a kids version of the chicken salad and it was just perfect and delicious too. PS good spot for kids too. They have a Foosball table ! So when they get antsy, they can go play! Kids love it and play every time. Great thinking! Thank you for this addition to your restaurant ! It's a plus for us with little ones because it helps with their impatience. This is GOLD !! Thank you Eduardo and Kiren ! We will be back next time we're looking for yummy Mexican food or are nearby. Have you tried ? Let me know if you stop by. I'd love to know what was your favorite dish. Happy eating & happy Yelping ! SYOY or IG ;) PS Support small family owned pro American businesses. IYKYK ;) Our communities need to thrive and it's up to us to help our community have the best services & places to eat. McDonald's isn't going anywhere and neither is Taco Bell or Starbucks.
