I have been to Sushi Express a handful of times now and I really enjoy it. There are a couple of tables to sit at if you want but I have only ever taken the food out. The people making the sushi are pleasant, clean, friendly, and the sushi comes out beautiful and tasty! The store itself is very clean. Everything is fresh and made to order. The prices are reasonable for what you're getting. I would recommend the dragon and rainbow rolls! read more

Amazing little sushi place in Prescott Valley. We moved to PV from Oregon and were missing good sushi like crazy. We stumbled across Sushi J express and it brought us back to the delicious sushi we had been missing. The owner is very friendly, the sushi is delicious and their is an excellent variety. The rolls are fabulous ( I have tried the spider roll, the dynamite roll, and the spicy tuna roll- all great). They also have chicken katsu and Teriaki bowls for those that are not as excited for sushi. This is a great carry out place, as the dining in area is very small. Owner will run himself out of business!!!! Went in for sushi took over an hour still no food to go. Asked about my order owner went crazy called me a liar about the amount of time I had been waiting. When I showed my receipt of the time stamped he said " Guess I owe you an apology but don't order a vegas roll here ever again." Lol I wont EVER go back to this place. Both times I have gone the owner was rude to ppl. If you are calling but cant get through its not because they are busy its because the Owner is just picking up the phone hanging up on paying customers. By far, this is the best place in PV even if you don't like sushi. Great teriyaki and tempura. I come up from the valley every few weeks and usually fly through PV (well can't actually fly with all those horrible cameras), but I don't stop unless I have to. A colleague told me about this place so on my way out of town, I thought I would give it a try. Sushi J is my go to place in PV..,nowhere else good to eat in this town anymore unless you want packaged food heated up and served up for 10 times what it costs to buy from the food suppliers. Pony was about the only other place in town for freshly made healthy food, but alas seems like the town is not into supporting that type of food. Sad to see them gone, but glad Sushi J in still in business. I will support the as much as I can!!! read more

Have had the pleasure of eating sushi and sashimi in Japan, Okinawa and Hawaii. This place is no where close to the same standard. Expensive and far from fresh. Sushi J is the best Japanese restaurant in Northern Arizona. You must try their food! If you don't like Sushi, they plenty of have non sushi entrees. My wife loves the Terryaki Bowl with chicken and veggies. The servings are huge too! Prices can't be beat for the quality products. It is small inside, though its very clean and the atmosphere is pleasant. They are specialized in takeout, so if you don't want to eat there, take it home or go to the park for a picnic. I almost forgot, MISO soup is to die for, not to mention cheap! I have tried hundreds bowls of it in my life, and the Miso soup there is in the top 5 best I have ever had. Very authentic! They even carry deserts and sodas imported from Japan! Really adds to the nostalgia of Japanese culture. Support your local businesses and eat some good food at the same time! read more

Came here to get a teriyaki bowl real quick. Not real quick.... We have never been there before we walked in they greeted and the girl just stared at us.... I wasn't sure where to order. Finally after a few minutes I asked where I order . Then she took my order. We ordered two plates ... Teriyaki bowl and katsu chicken.. It took 25 minutes for it to be ready. Then I figured it would be delicious since it took so long. No way! The steak on the teriyaki was very dry and tasted like it was days old and microwaved the broccoli however was nice and crispy. The best part of that plate was teriyaki sauce tho. So the katsu chicken was no good. It was dry.... It came with about 6 little slivers of chicken a crap ton of rice and lettuce..... No good!However, it came with sushi rolls which were delicious! I don't think I would ever come back here.... read more

I think I am qualified to write a review of Sushi J. I have been all over the world and learned to cook from some of the best. I always seemed to find my way into kitchens. I have eaten sushi in many places, in many countries and all over the United States. Yes you can find sushi in France, Korea and just about most countries. When I first ate at Sushi J, I did it alone. Just to check it out. It was perfect. I told them my son is a very picky eater but I want him to try everything but, I don't think he will eat sushi. They said bring him in and we will change that. That is pretty confident. I like that. Then came the big test,"my son the picky eater". It took months before I could talk him into going with me. When we walked in again I stated that this is new to my son who is a picky eater. They said,"we will fix him up and he will like it". You always eat with your eyes first. The presentation is nothing less than perfect and very pleasing. My son ate everything and some of what I had. They both asked how he liked it. To see the smiles on the owners was enough to let me know they enjoy what they do and do it very well. My son loves to go there now. They are super friendly, confident and I can see why. They also remember you. It doesn't matter how many times you eat there they always ask if everything is good. On a scale of 1-5 with 5 being the best I would rate Sushi J a 5. read more

I guess my wife and I ran all the good Japanese restaurants out of business because we couldn't find one to our liking. You know, tempura batter gets a little cold and turns to a tough substance - been there. We found this place a few years back and compares to the best we have eaten at, It's a 5-star.
