I've been coming to this place since I moved to Atlanta and I never leave disappointed. The service as always friendly and nice. The food always is fresh and tasty. And for the most part this is a relaxing place to dine or have lunch. Recently I came for their weekend buffet which disappeared after Covid and has recently returned. The roll selection was great, from California Rolls to Chef creations. The usual Nigiri was available, salmon, tuna, etc. It also included some hot food. Love love love this place! They have a 7 day special where so many of their rolls are 50% off. Everything was delicious and the service has been awesome during both of my recent visits. The establishment is clean and well laid out. I think the glass tops in the table make it even easier to keep areas clean and pristine. And it's kind of genius to have the menus under the glass top, so that they don't get worn or dirty. There is plenty of free parking in the lot where Sushi Kiku is located, but I will say, it's in a busy area. If you don't mind a little traffic occasionally, then it's SO worth the trip. Sushi Kiku is an informal Japanese restaurant offering sushi, noodles, and rice dishes. The atmosphere inside is rather moody because it is so dark in terms of the lighting and wall/floor colors. The waiter was very friendly and the food came out quickly! I ordered sushi, specifically the Rock and Roll, while my friend ordered the Beef Yaki Udon and we split the Popcorn Shrimp Tempura. We came here for lunch on a weekday and luckily got to experience their half off prices for their special rolls (I forget how long it lasts). My Rock and Roll consisted of crab meat, shrimp tempura, cream cheese, and other typical vegetables in a roll. It came out with around ten rolls or so and it was pretty good, but it made me realize that cream cheese in a roll is too much for me. My friend really liked her Beef Yaki Udon and I got to try some of it as well. The house sauce on the noodles tasted yummy. The Popcorn Shrimp Tempura was pretty typical; I kind of wished the batter was seasoned because the yum yum sauce that it came with kind of lacked in terms of flavor. I absolutely hate to leave a less than stellar ratings but I have concerns I think people should consider before dining here. Let's start with the ladies restroom, which immediately put me on guard when it comes to the food they would be serving. The restroom was pretty gross when we visited, dare I say comparable to a gas station restroom. We were there for a late lunch. Not only did it appear to have not been cleaned for shift but the whole bathroom is dingy. Cleaning supplies laying in the corner on the floor with a Clorox wipes canister flipped on its side. The trashcan inside the stall appears to never have been cleaned. It has dust (and who knows what else) all over it. You can visibly see the grime throughout the restroom. It needs a really good scrubbing from top to bottom. Me being a bit turned off but seeing other diners in the restaurant enjoying their meal, we decided to stay but kept our order simple. We got a tuna tataki but the tuna was so tough. I've had steaks that were more tender. One piece I could barely chew through so I just put it back on the plate. We had a kiku(?) roll which I did quite enjoy. It was nice and fresh and I'd like to see that option at more sushi places. It was delicious. My husband had a couple of pieces of yellowtail sashimi which he enjoyed. Finally, our server was an absolute sweetheart! It's really due to her service that I hesitated to even write this review because I feel bad. She was great! Unfortunately, when it comes to dining establishments and food service, sanitation is key and I have real concerns that if their restrooms are this visibly unsanitary, and not just from the day but actual build up, that the manager is equally as lax when it comes to the kitchen. That can be dangerous. They have some code violations as well. I don't live in the area so I won't have the opportunity to see if they rectify my concerns on future visits, which honestly I probably wouldn't return if I could all things considered. In good conscience, I cannot recommend this place. From what I could tell, the dining room seemed clean and the decor is nice. If they took a good weekend to close up and dedicate it to giving the restaurant a good scrubbing from top to bottom, address the code violations, etc I do believe they could be a top notch place to dine without having to lure people in with special pricing. read more

We used to go to Sushi Kiku for their lunch buffet. It was a good deal and the food was solid. The pandemic closed the buffet but they have recently reopened it so I was excited to go and try it again. To say that it was disappointing would be a huge understatement. It would appear ownership has changed and not for the better. The place had an odd smell to it when entered. Red flag 1. At 12:45 the place was almost empty. Red flag 2. The buffet was poorly stocked. Red flag 3. The "wasabi" was brown. Red flag 4. The tuna had an odd look and smell to it. Red flag 5. The soy sauce had almost no taste to it like it had been watered down until it was just dark water. Red flag 6. When I took a bite of tuna it tasted strange and, thank god, before I could swallow it a roach ran across my table. When I smashed it with my napkin, another dashed across the table! And these are the little brown ones, not palmetto bugs. The big ones might just wander inside on occasion but the little ones mean you have an infestation. . The manager saw the commotion and asked if everything was ok and I showed him the still kicking roach on the table and his reaction was to ask me if I wanted to move to a new table! Disgusting. Sushi is half price, but they double the prices. It actually came out to be a little more expensive than similar sushi restaurants. Only 2 rolls are gluten free: spicy tuna roll and Philly roll. (Super Alaska roll is also gluten free, but it's a Philly roll with salmon and avocado on top). We got some raw nigiri, and it was great. I appreciate that they have Tamari sauce which is gluten free soy sauce. Service was good and ambiance is adequate. read more

All these times I've eaten here, and this is the first time I'm reviewing Sushi Kiku. Smh! We came here to eat at 5 pm. At that time, there were a lot of parking spaces available in the free parking lot shared by many businesses in the two strips of storefronts separated by the parking lot. We walked in and waited for a minute for an employee to come to us before we were seated. A sign on the front door stated that masks are required to be worn upon entering the restaurant, so we put ours on. However, we noticed later that this policy wasn't being enforced, as we saw arriving customers without face coverings being led to their tables. Although menus were placed under the glass tops of our table, there was also a QR code available for us to view the menu in pdf form on our phones. The restaurant looked clean, although the small dining room at the back of the restaurant was cluttered with some boxes, even though customers were being seated in that area. Servers were quick to bus and clean tables soon after customers left. We ordered the tuna nigiri, salmon nigiri, ikura nigiri, spicy tuna roll, salmon roll, shrimp tempura roll. All of our food was fresh and delicious. While all of the nigiri pieces were wonderfully presented, the appearance of the rolls were just the opposite and looked rather sloppy. Service was great! Our server was very quick and efficient, and he came by periodically to check on us and to see if we needed anything, refilled our glasses and took away our empty serving dishes and dirty plates. The menu includes a lot of items. Besides sashimi, nigiri, and sushi, cooked food, such as teriyaki, hibachi (cooked in the kitchen) meats, soups, and others are available, and vegetarians can find some vegetable items to their liking. A well stocked bar is toward the front of the restaurant for customers' alcoholic needs. One more thing: All sushi rolls are 50% off when you order them and dine in. This place was fairly quiet when we arrived on a Saturday afternoon, which was okay given we were interested in a late lunch. The server immediately told us that the sushi was half price upon entering into the restaurant. We sat down and they took our drink order. We both ended up getting a salad and roll. My salad ended up coming out last because it took longer. The rolls themselves were good. I tried the Lenox roll so I can get something unique to the area. It also gave me a combination of flavors I can get in separate standard rolls, which was a win for me. The salmon skin salad was a little too greasy or fatty for me. I was able to eat the salad but couldn't get over how fatty the salmon skin was and it filled up my stomach rather quickly. I wouldn't order recommend trying that dish. read more

The service is quick and they always have half off the special rolls when you dine in. She took my sushi order and returned quickly with it. The food is tasty and a great value. Some of the Sushi is available at half-price, and I definitely took advantage of the deal. Sushi kiku was very quiet and I did not complain at all. I arrived at about 4:30 on a Tuesday (late lunch) and got seated right away. Due to covid they stopped the buffet temporarily but they have made all the sushi rolls 50% off all day long! I'm a sucker for sushi. I ordered 3 rolls, warm saki, and a seaweed salad. Needless to say i was stuffed. The rolls are huge!!! The waiter I had was very helpful as well making sure i understood the menu and how to access it through the QR. One helpful thing to is that they have picture of all the rolls they have (may not be a big thing for most but that helps a lot). This has definitely been moved up on my list of places to run to and catch a quick bite. The prices are great for Buckhead. read more
