I'd pass by this all the time on the way home and was looking forward to them opening. Thankfully j wasn't disappointed. The sushi I got was amazing and so far the best I've had especially north of Austin. The menu focuses mainly on sushi as the are only a couple cooked entrees to choose from. Some may take this as a negative but the focus presents itself clearly. The quality of the fish along with the good portioning was amazing. I only got a couple differing sushi and one roll but, from what I saw from the menu excited me. There were many selection that respected the nature of sushi by not adding a ton of fluff and cream cheese to make them stand out. The atmosphere is comforting and the service was impeccable. Im happy to have a nice place in round Rock for date nights as well as something healthy and tasty. I will be coming back often and soon. read more

Heard a lot of good reviews and was highly recommended to try this place. Unfortunately I was disappointed shortly after. Sushi didn't taste fresh, looked old. And item was not as described. When I tried contacting the store, they said nothing could be done. I offered to take my order back and just have it remade, since I still wanted to give them a chance, but they refused. Yes!!! I am so happy we finally have a great sushi restaurant in Round Rock! As a sushi snob, I've grown accustomed to driving to Cedar Park, Parmer Lane, or even downtown for good sushi. No longer is that an issue! The fish was very fresh and delicious. The Screaming orgasm and the madai was my favorite. As far as the rolls, the Ex Girlfriend was ON POINT! They have great lunch specials too which my friend got. Interior decoration was modern and quaint, staff and chef were super friendly! This will definitely be my go-to in Round Rock from now on... there is nobody else in Round rock to compare! I want to go back many more times and try everything on the menu! read more

I called this restaurant ahead of time to verify the rice was gluten free to then find out after we sit down that there is gluten in the rice. The pregnant woman serving my wife and I was extremely stand-offish and even charged me for my coke despite having to leave without eating anything. read more

As others mentioned this is a great addition to the Teravista / University area. We sampled several rolls, miso, and fried rice all of which was very good. It's nice they offer items such as fried rice so our kids have options other than sushi. Service was attentive, food amazing we will definitely be back. read more

You guys need to up your game or end up in the Sushi Restaurant grave yard. So When i heard there was a sushi restaurant in Round Rock, and more precisely in the University Ave area of far North Round Rock I was very excited. We choose Sushi about twice a month and it would be nice to not have to drive very far. So needless to say a good sushi restaurant this close to home would be welcome. So We set out on a Friday early evening and I pull up yelp to find out where that new sushi place is. When I find it on Yelp, it says the hours are 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and its 5:30 pm. oh no its closed!!!!!! But I say to my wife what kind of sushi Joint would be closed on Friday night? Lets drive by anyway, at least we will know where its at. Apparently they dont serve dinner only Breakfast and lunch. lol We find the place and of course its an error, they are open. First warning its an error. Its an error we even went into this place....... So we walk in and are seated, so far so good.... Our waitress (remember this is Round Rock, TX) does not speak very good English. Not gonna make any bad English jokes. Just not gonna do it.) So I say this is a huge menu, is there a sushi sampler or a special tonight? She reads off this list of three different specials from a scrunched up note paper), so I say well take all three. Is that a lot of food, she says "well yeah but it should be ok." I also got some (ok gotta admit really good Miso soup and a pretty tasty house sake.) So the first plate comes, 2 sushi on one side two seaweed wraps then two more sushi. We scarf down the plate. and sit there waiting for the other two plates. They never come. So I flag down a guy who looks a little like a manager, and ask is there more food coming? can you look at our order? Well forget it lets have a Mango roll, and a thing called a Round rock, and lets order some beef teriyaki for my wife. and bring out another sake while your at it. So the beef teriyaki comes out, sliced up shoe souls ( always cut against the grain, never cut beef with the grain) the cabbage was good, the rice was left for carb fest 2020! Anyway the Mango roll was actually very good (best thing of the night), the Round rock comes, interesting crab salad wrapped in an avocado ball. actually not bad, but not sushi by a long shot. So here's the kicker.... We get the bill and remember those 6 items on one plate. Apparently they were three separate orders put on one plate. That's two sushi, two wraps and two sushi. $9,95 + $7.95 & $8:95 on one plate that was the "its a lot of food" for a lot a bucks. Actually $30 for 6 sushi is actually nothing in the world of high dollar sushi, but you should present each order separately so the patron understands that these are separate items. Obviously we wont be back, and the chances this place will be open this time next year are slim. And the worst part is I was really hoping for a great experience. Avocado roll and veggie roll was good, and my husband liked his food But the waitress forgot one of his rolls, so we had to wait a while for them to make it. Service could have better. Couldn't understand the waitress, she didn't speak English very well. And they don't serve wasabi with the food, you have to ask for it I noticed it was $3 on the menu but they didn't charge us for it so maybe the first one is free. A hidden gem that I would have never noticed had it not been for Yelp (so thanks Yelp fam). I'm a HUGE fan of their Volcano rolls (with scallops piled on top and tuna hugging the rolls). The family has had various hand rolls, the monkey roll, the mango roll, etc. and none have been disappointing. Usually you get a lot of rice and a measly piece of fish; not the case here. Every roll I've seen is crammed with various fish and crustaceans. Highly recommend! read more

Appetizers are tasty but the sushi is low quality, which explains why everyone orders rolls. If you're looking for top quality fish, look elsewhere. We have lived in the area a while, but we're not familiar with this place. We took a chance after reading some reviews and we were pleasantly surprised. We arrived up on a Saturday evening and were quickly sat at the bar. They were offering appropriate spacing around Co-Vid recommendations. Like most sushi places the menu has lots of choices. We settled on Texas, Austin, Ultimate Shrimp, and Paradise roll. All were well prepared. I think we preferred the first 3 and they knocked those out of the park. Paradise was unique not bad but unusual with the tartness of the lime. Not one I would pick on our next visit, but I am sure others could enjoy. Look forward to our next visit and glad to find it conveniently located in Round Rock. read more

I'm a pretty picky sushi eater (Musachino, Uchi, and Soto are my usual norm), but I was thoroughly impressed by the quality and service of this small restaurant. My top favorites were: Truffle Garlic Edamame - This was so good, we ordered 2. I could eat this all day. Yellow Tail Jalapeno Sashimi - tasted fresh with a good kick from the jalapeno. Octopus Carpaccio - Loved the flavor pairings with this and the octopus had a good crunch to it but not too tough. Ankimo - Monkfish Liver with ponzu. I love that it already comes with ponzu. I always have to ask for it on the side at other places and WOW this is a great deal!!! Blue Fin Tuna - Very fresh, good cuts. Salmon Flower- Spicy crab, avocado, kaiware, Salmon wrap, crunch with SO sauce, and spicy mayo. This was one of my favorite! Very good flavors. I'm excited to go back and try the other stuff!! Took my husband here for his birthday based on the Yelp reviews and we were not disappointed. Husband had a few pieces of sushi (albacore, escolar, tuna, halibut). Garlic tuna was his favorite. Since I'm pregnant and can't have raw fish, I had the Lisa Lisa roll and chicken yakisoba. Everything was fresh and delicious! Service was great too.
