I waited until my second visit to make a review of this place, just to be able to give a more accurate rating than just a one visit review. I came here both times with my family and friends and we all agreed this was a great place and are grateful to have an excellent Japanese restaurant nearby (we love Sushi/Sashimi)! We were kindly greeted and seated right away. The menu is more extensive than most similar spots nearby, and the quality is definitely a step above them as well. This place just opened in the shopping center behind IKEA. The food was fantastic and the service was top notch!! It's kind of hidden back in the corner of the shopping center, so I'd like to get the word out about it so they can get some well deserved business and stay open. The popcorn shrimp was absolutely delicious. Great texture and the fried veggies lightened it up a bit. Rolls were to die for. This place was hands down one of the best sushi places I've ever been to and I don't eat sushi. I got the teriyaki beef dish and it was the best type of teriyaki I've ever had. I also got a dish with their wagyu served on top of rice and it was amazing! I went with my family and most of them got different types of sushi rolls. We ordered a lot because each dish was fantastic and they all agreed it was some of the best sushi they ever had. The service was just as good as the food; the owners and staff were very hospitable. The restaurant itself was very clean with a great interior vibe. I'm not from the area but this place definitely left an impression and I cannot wait to go back. read more

This place has great sushi and unfortunately one of the worst experiences I have had in a restraunt. We called ahead to make sure that there was a table available, and when we arrived we were seated at the table. But as we sat down we were then told we needed to give up our table because that there is now a 30-minute wait that the person who answers the phone was not aware of and our table was reserved by people who were not present. They only offered their apologies and did not offer to help work out a solution, so we left. It was rude rude embarrassing. Will not be returning. read more

Our server, Bara was excellent and si sweet. She took great care of us! I am picky with sushi. I'm half Japanese and grew up with amazing sushi, so i'm har to impress. This place was outstanding. Having lived in Round Rock for the past few years, the amount of actual quality sushi restaurants is fairly minimal. I have found myself frequenting Sushi Nini for meeting my sushi craving. However, I think there is a new king in the area. Having seen only 5 star reviews I was tempted away from the usual spot and gave this place a try. It blew away my expectations. Food is normally good but the service has gone down hill drastically. The last few times I have gone we have been rushed during our dining. This time was ridiculous! Showed up asking for a booth and was told it would be a 35 minute wait. After waiting that time and coming back in asking how much longer it would take I was then told 15 minutes even though other customers that came in AFTER had already been seated at booths. Just to clarify I even asked if you could call in to make a reservation and she said no so this makes no sense. I saw that a table was open and asked if we could take that open table rather than a booth and she said no. After waiting once again and finally receiving a call that our booth is ready we walk in and are asked to sit at the sushi bar? When telling her that no that is not okay she THEN tries to seat us at the table she told me I was unable to sit at before. Very upsetting that we had to wait this long just to be disappointed and leave. Not sure if we will be back after this experience. read more

Amazing sushi in the middle of Round Rock. It's in an unassuming corner at the end of a little strip of stores and a Papa John's, but make no mistake. This is probably the best sushi within 250 miles. Maybe farther. The flavors are so original. Their chef's special rolls are works of art and jam packed with flavor. I am a salmon lover, and the Ultimate Salmon Roll is my go-to. It's absolutely amazing, and you can tell the owner, James, has made this restaurant a labor of love. The decorating inside is inviting and impeccable, the service is top notch, and there isn't anything on the menu that isn't delicious. I drive an hour to come here when I need my sushi fix. I look forward to coming here a lot more once the pandemic (hopefully) dies down. In the meantime, I was completely comfortable dining in because the restaurant is spotless, and everyone is distancing. If you love sushi or Japanese food of any kind, you should definitely visit this place very soon. read more

Some of these reviews are greatly exaggerated. 3 stars at best. Sushi is ok, but the shrimp tempura has to be the worst I've ever had. What did they do, sliced a shrimp lengthwise into 3 pieces? Very thin 3 pieces of shrimp tempura for $6 is a rip-off. The batter coating was like bread crumbs. 80% batter and 20% shrimp. So, no, those 5 star ratings are nuts, where are your standards? Super Sushi! This place is tucked in a corner of a shopping complex next to Ikea and easy to miss, it is literally around the corner from my house and I never went, when I finally did it was absolutely fantastic, the best sushi I have had since being here in texas. Rolls are not sauced too much which alot of places do, the fish is extremely fresh, and they have other options for non sushi lovers like teriyaki, bulgogi etc.. My only complaint is they don't have a website or anywhere to view there menu before going in. There are pictures of the menu online but hard to read. read more
