The good: the sushi! Everything we got tasted fresh. The only thing that tasted even a bit fishy was the kani, which is to be expected from certain brands. Every roll we got was satisfying and the rice was good, the rolls well-formed. The only issue was the cut of the Boston roll was too thin. Service was polite but food was quite slow to come out. The not so good: the chicken teriyaki. The purple rice we ordered was seasoned like sushi rice, which made it an odd accompaniment although it was tasty enough. The chicken itself was not seasoned well enough and had the distinct texture of being frozen for just a bit too long. Quite dry and unspectacular. Outdoor seating was cute. They know what they're doing in terms of having the freshest sushi and sashimi around. We like sitting outdoors and great weather so it's great that they have outdoor tables. On a recent weekday, I met my folks who regularly dine in, for lunch and sat in the back room, which is quieter, and we had a number of specials from their lunch menu, which has great options at very affordable prices. This restaurant was such a wonderful find! My friend and I walked in on a Saturday afternoon, and we were immediately seated. The interior was so pretty and made for such a calm, peaceful environment. I ordered the chirashi bowl from the lunch special menu, which was delicious. Continuing on my local sushi tour we find Sushi Koshi. It was delivery this time, but will stop in to check out their sit-down next time. To start we ordered Gyoza (3/5), these were cold for some reason while the complimentary miso soup was warm/hot. The pork filling was good enough. The Tuna Tataki (5/5) and Shashimi (4/5) were both very good and fresh as can be. For our sushi rolls we got the JJ Roll (5/5) and the Blooming Roll (4/5). Both were excellent, but the JJ Roll was our favorite. The Crab, fried shrimp, cream cheese, etc... were the perfect match of flavors for so much going on. The Blooming had ample amount of tuna, white fish, and tuna on top--something was missing though. They threw in a a free roll which I thought was great for a first experience with them. They never mentioned what the roll was, but it was great. This place was consistent compared to our last sushi experience in the area. Will try again. read more

We asked if we could just place a to-go order instead and staff was so accommodating and did their best to find us a table on a very busy night! We then forgot one of our dishes and they had their delivery driver come drop it off. Came here for a weekday dinner and was seated right away. It's definitely a small restaurant, looks like seats about 20-25 people indoors, but they do have a few tables outdoors as well. I love a sushi menu with photos, since it's hard to imagine and it's just easier when you can see it visually and see how the ingredients are done for the rolls. Sushi tasted fresh, though food took longer than expected around 15-20 minutes. Price was fair and expected for the area. Staff was friendly and food was good! The only real downside was that there were flies flying around every few minutes so that was a bit annoying, so maybe would opt to come here again and try sitting outside to avoid this issue. read more

Such a great spot. I remember looking for a Japanese restaurant to go with my kids as a family. We found this one and we have never looked or been to another spot. They absolutely love it. The place is fairly small but it does have seating , I guess maybe reserve if you have a party of 6 or more. The kids and I love the food. The staff is always so friendly and attentive. Solid 4.5 stars! We wanted to see for ourselves after reading the great reviews and Sushi Koshi did not disappoint. We were lucky to get a reservation. The restaurant is buzzing, small and charming. Our table started with the Avocado fries and gyoza. Very good. And we ordered a bunch of special rolls: tuna and salmon dragon, volcano, sushi koshi, lava and Grand Canyon rolls. We got a Kani Salad to split; it was oddly watery and while we know it's imitation crab meat, it had zero flavor. For dinner, neither of us were in a sushi/sashimi/roll, so I got a shrimp teriyaki dinner box and my GF got a chicken teriyaki dinner box. While filling, the shrimp pieces were quite small and well over-cooked; they were dry and chewy. The chicken was also a little on the over-done side. Neither came with rice, even though the menu says, "served with rice, soup & salad" (the soup was pretty good). When we asked where our rice was (because our server asked us at the start if we wanted white or brown rice), we were told it was for the rice in the included-with-the-dinner-box California roll. Would definitely NOT re-order a teriyaki box. 2/5. 4/5 + 4/5 + 2/5 = 10/15, thus the 3-star rating. Perhaps we shall give this place another try when we are in the mood for sushi/sashimi/rolls, but I'd recommend not getting a teriyaki box (but YMMV). read more

We came for lunch and shared the beef goyza for an appetizer, which we both really enjoyed. I had the chicken lunch box with the avocado cucumber roll. I was so surprised by how much food it was! It all tasted delicious and I loved the variety of items it came with (soup, salad, chicken, goyza, and edemame). My husband had the chicken katsu and lunch roll. He loved every bite. Came here for lunch. The sushi lunch special had really fresh fish and rolls. I'm not usually a fan of California Rolls, but these had a punch flavor in a good way. The salad and miso soup that came with it were also good, but nothing notable. I also sampled some of the chicken teriyaki lunch bento. You get a lot of food with it, including edamame, miso soup, salad, gyoza, and the teriyaki. The gyoza were really crisp and tasted freshly made, and the teriyaki was perfectly cooked--better than what I've had in Seattle where it's really popular. I also noticed that they also have stuff like beef bulgogi in a stone bowl, poke bowls, and chicken katsu. I'm going to have to try those next time. read more

We had gotten 4 rolls I loved 2 of them 2 were not my favorite but the others in my party did enjoy them. Servers were nice. I would have give 4 stars if it weren't for the flies.
