Always great service! The wait was a bit longer today on a Sunday, but we sat at the bar and had wonderful service!

This sushi spot has been around for awhile. They have another location in Pacific Beach. We've eaten here plenty of times. The usuals pink roll, sensual pleasure rolls are our favorite. My son got shrimp tempura udon this time around and the broth was rich and flavorful. This last visit, we came in unintentionally the same day as Monster Jam so there were multiple families waiting to be seated. We got seated pretty quickly and our food did not take long either. At least I don't remember the wait. Staff are always kind and checking in on us. This location has an indoor and outdoor patio area. The only con is they share a parking lot with McDonalds and the traffic in and out can get crazy with finding a parking.

I've been to Sushi Kuchi in Convoy a handful of times, but this visit was a quick stop since we were already in the area getting Costco gas. We ordered the fresh roll combo, which includes a California roll, spicy tuna roll, and rainbow roll for $22. It's a solid deal for classic rolls, though the cuts were a bit disproportionate. The end pieces were unusually large, and the rolls could have benefited from smaller, cleaner cuts. That said, they were generous with the soy sauce and ginger. The restaurant was clean, and the server was polite. While the greeting wasn't especially warm, it was early in the day, which is understandable.

Enjoying a free dessert for my birthday and it was tasty. They offer rolls at 50% off also. We had the spicy garlic edamame and the gyoza. I prefer my gyoza pan fried rather than deep fried. Overall it was good. My roll was just ok. I should have read it more closely, as it was a bit spicy and heavy for me, as was also deep fried. It was called Star Wars roll. Come here during your birthday month for a free dessert.

I have passed by this restaurant countless times on my trips to the mission valley Costco or IKEA. I had wanted to try them for a while. We came hungry for an early dinner at 5:30 pm and were seated immediately. There is a decent amount of seating outside and we chose to sit inside with AC as it was a warm evening. We ordered: - Chicken Katsu Entree $19.50 - very generous portion and solid flavor and texture - great if you are hungry - Unagi Bowl $22.50 - a bit disappointed, the flavor was good but the unagi texture wasn't quite right - a bit mushy - Agedashi Tofu $7.50 - a must get - deliciously crispy and flavorful Overall, the value is good and service is efficient. My go to for dinner remains the chicken katsu entree.

I love getting Sushi Kuchi every time I'm in the area, or after a Costco Run. Today I got Todo Roll, Caterpillar Roll, and tried Sensual Pleasure roll which I wasn't a huge fan of. I've tried a bunch of other rolls here like Starwars (My favorite so far!!), Vegas roll, lips roll, pink roll, and their hand rolls. Sushi Kuchi always hits the spot, feels pretty fresh & offers a ton of fun roll options. If you dine in you get 50% off certain rolls, & To-go you get 40% off. Definitely affordable when compared to other sushi spots in the area. Service is always attentive, servers check in frequently. They offer indoor and outdoor sitting, w the outdoor having standing heaters. Making it a great place for lunch or dinner!

Came on a Friday night and it was busy but we were able to get seated right away. By the time we were leaving the place was getting pretty packed. The menu is very similar to another sushi restaurant in Scripps Ranch called Todo Sushi. I would assume they are owned by the same people. We ordered a variety of rolls and they were all pretty good. The fish tasted fresh.

Was in the area and decided to grab sushi here. Ordered some sashimi and nigiris and the cut of fish were hugeeeee! Also love that they have real wasabi. Definitely a bang for your buck. Service was good, the servers were very attentive and accommodating. Def recommend this spot for some decent sushi!

We come here often whether it's after a game or just to enjoy some fresh sushi and drinks. The staff is always in a good mood and the food always tastes great. We invite friends whenever we get a chance and they've always had positive things to say about the food and service. Thank you kuchi sushi mission valley for always making our experience enjoyable!

    Hawaiian Roll(8pcs)
    Sonika S.

I usually order the Hawaiian Roll from here and it's normally really good, which is why I keep coming back. Unfortunately, today's order was very disappointing. The roll didn't taste fresh and the quality was noticeably off compared to what I'm used to. I didn't leave a review the last time this happened because I assumed it was a one-time issue, but experiencing it again makes me concerned about consistency. I hope the restaurant can look into this, as I genuinely enjoy this place when the food is prepared properly.

I think I had a pretty enjoyable first visit. It's definitely a place I wouldn't mind going back again, but wouldn't be my first choice. I got thai iced tea (wish it came with boba) - but I liked it. Then I ordered tuna sushi, fatty tuna sushi, and smoke salmon sushi (all of these were 2 pieces). I think it was such a good deal - especially if you go to happy hour where a certain portion of the menu is actually half off (minus the fatty tuna sushi/uni sushi, etc). It was an okay type of fish, I've definitely had better from more "up-scale" sushi places. But again, didn't mind it. Then I had the sensual pleasure roll, sweet hawaiian roll (really good), and a baked scallop. Truthfully, the baked scallop wasn't that bad, however it was SOOOOO filled with oil. It almost looked a bit too greasy to see the oil filled in the dish - it definitely threw my friend off because she ordered it as well and she actually only took one bite of the whole dish. This was pretty disappointing. Sensual pleasure roll was ok as well. I think I wouldn't get it next time. The black pink roll actually wasn't bad (what my friend got) - it's very heavy with cream cheese but I truly didn't mind it! Our server was really sweet, service was pretty quick especially with it being a Saturday afternoon. We were able to walk up and sit inside.

They have outdoor seating for anyone that wants to bring their pups. Service is always on point here, you get seated fast, they check on you multiple times and make sure that you're enjoying your meal there. Ambience is great, and servers are super friendly. I always get the nigiri here, the fish is fresh and delicious. I saw they had oysters also, they were okay - I would probably skip the oysters next time and just stick with the sushi. The sashimi dinner has a huge amount of fish, no skimping here. Definitely try them out if you're looking for some fresh and flavorful sushi!

Do the vegan options here include fish substitutes or just replacements like veggies?

I would not try this place for vegan. The service went down and so has the quality of the sushi and rice. I had rolls with tooth breaking rice and the only response the manager had for me was to say it happens Might want to check out sushi…

Unfortunately, the beef tongue was the biggest letdown of the night. It was dry and seemed like it wasn't very fresh. However, the ribeye, beef short rib, and rib fingers were all good and ended up being my favorite meats of the evening. The biggest issue was the service. We came on a busy Saturday night, and while I understand weekends get hectic, the service was painfully slow. Our server never seemed to be in much of a rush, even with a packed restaurant. Since you're only allowed to order 4 plates of meat at a time, the long waits between rounds meant we spent more time waiting than eating. We also had to ask twice for a grill change, and it still took a long time before he actually returned with a grill change. By the time our next round of meat arrived, we were already getting full, which really took away from the all-you-can-eat experience. What made this visit even more disappointing is that I've eaten here before, and it used to be one of my favorite KBBQ spots. I celebrated my birthday here last year, and it was hands down one of the best KBBQ meals I've had. This visit just didn't come close to that experience. I'm hoping this was just an off night. I know Buga is capable of much better, but based on this experience, I can only give it 3 stars.

Mackerel is just about the cheapest of fishes, sells for $2.29 a lb at Zion Market. The taste of the mackerel wasn't very exciting, I couldn't taste the grill flavor, and I wish they put some marinate on it. The dish I really wanted is Beef Bulgogi (but I like pork better) but it cost $27 and I couldn't bring myself to order it, too expensive. My friend ordered dumplings for about $14, but I did not taste them. My friend only ordered dumplings, which I did not taste. I come to the same conclusion as my previous visit, 6 years before.
