    Kamikazi roll and aloha roll

We ordered the aloha roll and kamikaze roll. Both absolutely delicious. Everything tasted very fresh. I'm very pleased! We will definitely be back!

Top to bottom: Maki, tempura roll, california roll, spicy tuna roll, rock n' roll

We decided to eat here for dinner around 6pm on Saturday night because of their sign 'everyday 50% all rolls.' The restaurant was starting to fill up but we were seated right away: There were only 2 servers and I had to call one of them to place an order as the tables were getting full. We ordered california roll, tempura roll, rock n' roll, spicy tuna roll, and maki. The rolls came out pretty quick. The rolls looked and tasted good but they were rather on the smaller size. But nothing beat the price! Even their special rolls are 50% off. I noticed that there were lots of pick up orders on the table near to the sushi bar. By the time we finished our meal, the restaurant was full. We will definitely come back for the rolls whenever we're in the area.

Great food! The rolls are half off! Good for a date night or the while family. Those who don't like sushi can get a bento box with amazing food. Service is fast and friendly.

3/14/2021: It's been well over one year, since I've inhaled Sushi; after filling my truck with gas at Costco Folsom, I made a beeline for El Dorado Hills Shopping Center purposely heading to Sushi Kama. Why? Please don't inquire the reason for eating Sushi because that's how hankering pangs are; you must satiate those pangs otherwise, the pangs become egregiously annoying! BTW: Sushi Kama Menu now has a QR Code via the front of the menu; I hope you can scan the QR Code from my photo I took. Anyway, I seriously buckled via ordering the Sushi 7 which the Sushi Chef kindly gave me extra Sushi and a large Sushi California Roll which wasn't a California Roll; the Sushi roll had more seafood inside the large roll plus, I buckled ordering the seafood Udon because I just had to eat seafood Udon. Whoa~I must embarrassingly admit my eyes were bigger than my stomach because the Sushi 7 was EPIC while the seafood Udon was so atypical to the seafood Udon I inhaled and was served in San Francisco Japantown AND Shibuya, Tokyo! The seafood Udon had scallops, large prawns, clams, octopus(?), squid(?), oysters, and a plethora of freshly French-cut carrots, chopped broccoli, and other assorted vegetables! Welp~I think Sushi Kama will now be my El Dorado County Sushi Restaurant I'll regularly frequent which will not cost me an airline ticket flying to Shibuya, Tokyo for Sushi-ever!

I got the Seafood Udon and a hot sake. The sake was warm rather than hot. The udon was a good size. Soup was tasty. There were two mussels, some oysters, two scallops and vegetables in the udon. The seafood was cooked nicely (not over cooked which I dislike). Scallops were a bit bland. Quantity of noodles was good. Service was fast and very friendly. Overall, not mind blowing but solid and pleasant. I would give 3.5 stars.

It was busy but the sushi & bento boxes are great! It's a good place to take a date & it was super affordable! I was expecting something expensive because of the location but it was perfect!

Kuma roll, lion king, pier 39
    Jeff S.

This was our first time here but definitely not or last. It was a busy Saturday night and we were promptly seated. Service was excellent and it was a nice ambience. We received our rolls right away and the presentation was excellent. (I wish I would have taken a photo of the table next to ours... They probably had 20 different items and it looked amazing!). They tasted great. Prices were decent as well. We had the Viagra, pier 39, lion king, and Kuma rolls. Lion King and Kuma we're out personal favorites. I wouldn't say this is a fancy, top notch sushi restaurant, but it was a very pleasant atmosphere with great service, reasonable prices, and good sushi so it's a winner in our book.

This is 2 full orders. 6 pieces each. Disappointing

This is a sushi restaurant that needs to be revisited over and over When I read some of the other YELP reviews, I was on the fence, but the pictures were very tempting, and that was enough to draw me in When we arrived, there were definitely a few people waiting for tables, but they graciously seated us immediately. Service is definitely slow, but it's clear that they are so incredibly busy and turning out fabulous food, the patient is definitely a virtue. Waiting a few extra minutes for a delectable dish is absolutely worth it. Diners tip: they have a pretty extensive menu, and part of that menu they offer 50% off rolls! They do not cheap out! We ordered two rolls to share thinking that we could always order more if needed. Two rolls was absolutely plenty for two people to share. We ordered the rainbow lobster roll from their special off the menu/menu The rainbow lobster roll is not only gorgeous to look at, but it is a phenomenal role. And, get this it's only $23! It's is loaded with the freshest fish. Salmon, Hamachi, tuna, ebi, lobster, and yummy sauces! It's absolutely delectable and my mouth waters. Just thinking about how delicious this roll is. Our other roll is the Hoss roll. Fried shrimp, cream cheese, crabmeat, lightly torched salmon, with avocado. This is the deliciousness that we all want out of a sushi roll. Both of these rolls were absolutely amazing! The Hoss roll is also loaded with fresh fish. The shrimps are a really nice size, and each bite was better than the last. This is really an amazing role, especially because this one being 50% off my expectations were so low, and my expectations were completely exceeded by the rolls and the restaurant. They have their own parking lot that is shared with businesses in the strip center, but there's plenty of free parking. Reservations aren't necessary, but highly recommended for larger groups Absolutely a must try!

Since it wasn't very busy when we arrived, we were seated right away. The dining room is fairly large, with a mix of tables, booths, and counter seating. Each table has a tablet for electronic ordering, but we decided to go old-fashioned and order through our server. We started with a large hot sake and six pieces of gyoza, asking our server to hold the entrées until we finished. The sake hit the spot and paired nicely with the gyoza. The gyoza tasted good but was just a bit harder than we'd like. For the main meal, I ordered a bento box with nigiri sushi and tempura, while the others chose a salmon teriyaki bento box and a Spicy Yellowtail Roll. My nigiri tasted fresh and nicely prepared. I also tried a piece of the Spicy Yellowtail Roll and found it to have a nice flavor profile. The salmon teriyaki was clean and sweet, with a natural salmon flavor, and was tender and juicy. The portions were generous, making for a satisfying meal, and everyone enjoyed their food, although my companions thought the tempura was a bit too oily. Despite the slightly firm gyoza and oily tempura, the good sake, generous portions, and relaxed atmosphere made for a very enjoyable lunch. The highlight for me was sipping the remaining sake and enjoying the nigiri.

Lunch, dinner, it didn't matter. It was always the easy choice because you knew you were getting quality every time. Zeev runs a great place. The fish is fresh, the cuts are right, and you can tell there's real care behind what's being served. The toro and hamachi kama were always my favorites. Not every place does those well, but here they were consistently on point. What really made it stand out though was the people. Zeev's wife is amazing. She's always making sure everyone is taken care of, checking in, and creating that kind of environment where you feel welcomed, not just served. In my opinion, this is the best spot in the EDH area when it comes to sushi and fish quality. That consistency is what kept me coming back. I've since moved, so I haven't been able to go as often, but this was one of those places that stayed in rotation for a long time. For me, it's a solid 4.5 out of 5. For me, the tempura shrimp in the Shrimp Tease was overcooked and chewy. For the price point, I would say the sushi is acceptable but not at all traditional, mostly American Japanese fusion geared towards a suburban palate. The rolls were very thinly sliced, which is unusual but nice because you get more bites. My friend got the chirashi (sp?) bowl which has a lot of different types of fish. The fish was fresh. The menu is mostly specialty rolls with crab, shrimp tempura, and spicy tuna. I asked about getting a simpler roll but was told it would still be $14, so the specialty rolls make more sense. They all have strange, punny names that don't relate to the ingredients. Overall, we felt it was overpriced for the quality of the food and not exactly what we were expecting but it had open seating for a group of 8 on a Friday night. The service was fine, and sushi chefs didn't hesitate to ask answer questions when I asked about a new roll.

Taste is subjective, and what one person finds delicious, another may not. However, there are certain universal aspects of dining, such as customer service, cleanliness, communication, and overall hospitality, that every restaurant should strive to deliver. My reviews reflect the complete experience, not just what's on the plate. We decided to try Hasu Teriyaki & Sushi in Folsom for the first time and brought the kids along. Unfortunately, the experience got off to a rough start. When we walked in, there were several open tables, but no one greeted us or explained whether we should seat ourselves or wait to be seated. A female employee saw us but didn't provide any direction, so we picked a table ourselves. After waiting for a bit with no acknowledgment, I had to get up and grab menus on my own. We spent about eight minutes deciding what to order (never easy with kids), but still no one came by. After another several minutes, I finally walked the few feet to the register and asked, "Are we supposed to order here or at the table?" The response was simply, "Yes, order here." After placing my order, I was immediately prompted to add a tip before receiving any service, which is something I personally find frustrating. Then I grabbed our cups to fill our drinks myself, only to find the ice machine was out of ice. At that point, it felt like we were striking out on every opportunity for a good first impression. It appears there's only one employee handling both the register and the dining area, which may explain some of the confusion. If that's the system, it would really help to have a sign letting customers know to seat themselves and order at the counter. There are only about seven tables inside, but without any guidance, the dining experience is confusing for first-time visitors. Once the food arrived, it was presented nicely. I ordered the Rainbow Roll and Dragon Roll, and visually they looked great. Unfortunately, I found the flavors to be underwhelming. The sushi was very mild, and even the wasabi had almost no heat. I added far more wasabi than I normally would, yet it barely had any kick. For someone who really enjoys sushi, the overall flavor just didn't stand out. The kids' non-raw rolls were also just average. To her credit, the employee did check on us twice after the food arrived, and she was friendly. I think she recognized that I was frustrated after spending roughly 15 minutes in the restaurant without any acknowledgment or explanation of how ordering worked. Overall, the experience wasn't terrible, but it wasn't one that makes me eager to return. Between the confusing service, lackluster first impression, and sushi that was simply average, I'd probably look elsewhere next time.

The order was ready in about 15 minutes, as estimated. I ordered the Spicy Ramen, but skipped the egg and pork (and requested extra veggies in their place). They did seem to give extra veggies, and the bowl was loaded with spinach and mushroom slices, along with several fish cakes and peppers. The Ramen noodles were cooked well, and I enjoyed eating everything, except the broth itself (not much flavor, and salty, to my taste). My husband looked at photos here on Yelp, and found one labeled "Stir fried veggie udon". That isn't on the online menu, and when I tried to order it, I was told that it was Veggie Udon (which is usually cooked in broth) "stir-fried in Teriyaki sauce" (not on the menu). And indeed it was. He loved it. The Teriyaki sauce was not overly sweet (like many other places). The stir-fry was well done (not oily), with a very good selection of veggies, and some tofu. The veggies and noodles were cooked to perfection. It was a big hit for him. Prices were quite reasonable, and the few people I interacted with were very pleasant.
