This is my favorite spot because they have a veggie tempura appetizer and sooooo many roll choices for their 3 roll lunch special. So worth it and the fish is always fresh. The service is very nice. We had a fussy eater on our table, she is two years old. The waitress was so nice to her, giving us extra soup for the baby. The baby loves soup and rice. The baby also ate the white tuna roll, $3.50. Which I thought was delicious. The lady even gave candy to the baby. She was very nice to us. I ordered a variety of the nigiri sushi. It was half priced for their grand opening special. Everything was fresh and yummy. I also ordered the Futomaki, $6.75. I have had better Futomaki but it's fine. I rather have had more nigiri or sashimi. My friend ordered the sushi/sashimi plate for one, $23.95, very reasonably priced. The plate is huge. The restaurant is clean, nice and comfortable. They offer free parking validation at the lot on 14th Avenue just past 150th street if you eat-in. Not sure how long that will last. read more

First time using delivery and it was great. Convenient and easy to do. As a tech consultant I loved that I could use ApplePay to pay for the food. It took 1 hour for the food to arrive, but that was expected. My food was delicious with a fork and chopsticks included. I should have ordered a fountain drink to go with it. Ordered takeout recently when my friends and I were hanging out at Fort Totten Park. We had at least 5 different orders and the lady who took our order was so sweet. Due to the pandemic, we wanted all our foods to be separately packaged and they did that for us. The food was quickly prepared, we got there in 15 minutes and everything was ready. Everything is blocked off when you enter the first door. THANK YOU! You're able to give your payment through a tiny window and then take your food from a different window. Now on with the food, we all got different sushi rolls and a bento box. We were all filled and happy. The salmon/shrimp/eel,etc was all very fresh. BUT WHAT I LOVED THE MOST: they do not use excess rice. I really hate it when my sushi is wrapped in thick rice. They use the right amount. Love it! This place is really good. I just moved to the area and I've been trying out all of the local sushi places. I haven't been really impressed until I ordered from Sushi Me. I went a little crazy with my order because ordering my weight in sushi is something I like to do on a Friday night lol and I was happy with everything overall. I ordered a few basic rolls which were great and really reasonably priced. I had two specials rolls which weren't my favorite - nothing wrong with them though, I just preferred the basic rolls. I also ordered the general tsos chicken for a friend who doesn't eat fish, and tried a bit. I was really surprised by how good it was. The meat was great quality. The sauce was a lot lighter than your typical take out general tsos which was a nice change. The delivery was quick and the driver was super nice. Overall, I'd give it a 4.5 - I'm definitely looking forward to trying some different speciality rolls that I might enjoy more and some of their sashimi. Snow Dragon inside the roll had snow crab & asparagus topped with avocado and masago. BBQ pork chop lunch box served with a rice, salad, shumai and a miso soup on the side. Tonkatsu ramen was perfect, but the meat sliced so thin and little but their soup was delicious! It may not be same as other Japanese ramen place but it's worth a try. The fire ice cream which I loved! You could choose from vanilla, red bean and green tea. I chose green tea. Maybe it's a bread crumb I'm not too sure. Whip cream and cherry on top with chocolate drizzle with fire. It's definitely worth the price. It's only $5.95 The last of if you ask for tea. They give you fresh warm green tea. We ordered the Party B Platter for delivery recently and was extremely disappointed with the quality of everything, The platter came in a huge circular to go platter and we were super excited. However, upon further inspection we realized that the rolls were TINY. This is not an exaggeration. I've taken photos and used the sushi as a scale to show exactly how small a piece of the roll was. On top of that, the eel avocado had unripe avocado, which was NOT okay. We had a lot left over due to that issue. Lastly, though the sushi pieces (NOT ROLLS) were normal sized, they were not fresh. It was clearly old fish and it was extremely disappointing. With all that said, it wasn't the worst experience I've ever had with sushi spots, but it is pretty down there. They weren't too busy, but the server was a tad bit inattentive at times, because they had her running around doing various other tasks. TLDR: delicious & fresh food, friendly staff, efficient take out and dine in, relatively inexpensive for a sushi place. long version: i've eaten from sushi me on multiple occasions now - dine in and take out. in all instances, they sent us a roll on the house, which was really nice. there is a coupon for it on their take out menu if you spend a certain amount, but they did it at the restaurant too. their sushi/sashimi seems really fresh and everything was delicious. i love their spicy yellowtail roll (tmi: a nearby sushi place ruins their spicy rolls by topping them with a spicy sauce and this place does not, so i am thrilled to have found this new spot.), their kabuki roll (salmon and avocado plus more salmon and yellowtail... what's not to like??), and their sweet potato roll (don't judge me! i know it's not "real" sushi, but the tempura in the roll is nice and crispy, and the sweetness is a nice alternative to the savory rolls.) when we visited with my parents, my mom ordered the chicken katsu bento box. while most places dry out their chicken, this one was moist and delicious. we continue to try their special rolls, but those are hit or miss depending on what's inside of them and what you like in your makizushi. ambience is casual, prices are very reasonable. staff was very attentive and friendly. our tea cups were constantly being refilled to the brim (hot genmaicha, a green tea with brown rice, perfect for these cold winter nights!). food came out quickly. place is clean and parking is easy (the restaurant will validate for the lot across the street) too. read more

I like their sushi, too, which is fresh and inexpensive, but their katsu is really out of this world and I keep going back to that. This review is for delivery. I ordered through Yelp, and delivery took almost 1 hr 30 minutes. I ordered at 7:30, I had food in my hand at around 8:20ish. Whatever. Food: I ordered Chicken Pad Thai, Eel Avocado roll, and Spicy Tuna roll. The pad thai had zero bean sprouts (isn't it usual to have bean sprouts?), some egg/scallion thrown in, decent amount of chicken, huge portion of noodles, and lime. The flavor/sauce itself didn't really taste like a pad thai that I'm used to (unlike the one served at Boon Chu, for example). It tasted more like a Chinese noodle dish (I know this place isn't authentic/fusion). I mentioned this already, but the portion is huge. I ate it for dinner, and the next day's lunch, and dinner (with my own cooked veggies thrown in). Rolls: Nori/seaweed is STALE. Plus is the rolls are not huge pieces of just rice, but they weren't that good. There's too much sauce on the eel avocado, tiny piece of eel, and the spicy tuna tasted a bit off to me as well. Overall, I wouldn't go back here. I haven't been to Takara in a long time, but that was my favorite sushi/fusion spot in Whitestone. read more

I just received my order and am very disappointed. The nori is inedible in the sushi rolls. I ordered 4 separate rolls and received another roll (California) for free. I keep having to spit out the chewed roll because I can't get through the nori. I don't know if it's old or these rolls have been pre-rolled and sitting, but this is inexcusable. The chicken pad Thai was a little weird and bland. The only good thing I got was the beef negimaki. For me to spend $34 on a Friday night and get old/chewy rolls is unacceptable. I tried posting a review on Seamless where I ordered from but wasn't successful. I've ordered several times from this spot with the previous establishments. This is just not cool. Should have stuck with Nagoya on Francis Lewis. Also, so not cool to receive their menu with my order stating the 50% off sushi and it's all full price through Seamless. However, I just ordered from them an hour ago but the food hasn't yet arrived, even though Seamless track that the order was received the order ten minutes within submitting. I called them to see where the food is. The person had the audacity to tell me that they didn't receive the order until 7:30 (yeah, okay), we have to wait another 20-30 minutes for the food and "it's not their fault".
