(This is for delivery only) I normally love this place. They have relatively cheap food and good quality. However, I just ordered from them an hour ago but the food hasn't yet arrived, even though Seamless track that the order was received the order ten minutes within submitting. I called them to see where the food is. The person had the audacity to tell me that they didn't receive the order until 7:30 (yeah, okay), we have to wait another 20-30 minutes for the food and "it's not their fault". They didn't offer to expedite my food or even try to calm me down. I will never order from them ever again. I rather pay a bit more money to get better service and faster delivery. read more

The food is...ok. The sesame dumplings were good. Not sure about their made-to-order stuff, but the conveyor-belt sushi was way over priced for the quality you're getting. Also, the cooked/fried rolls tasted like propane, so I guess they use propane to cook which is an interesting choice. read more

So I checked on yelp for the "hot and new" spots nearby to order some late night delivery. Sushi Me was one of the options and had good reviews so I decided to check out the menu. I ordered two sushi maki rolls - eel & avocado and spicy salmon roll. Then I decided to get an asian dish since the maki rolls wouldn't fill me up. I decided to try the chicken thai red curry which is my favorite dish at Thai Food restaurants. I knew I was taking a risk by choosing a thai dish at a sushi place but why would they add it on the menu if they didn't know how to prepare it, no? Anyway, I was really excited to try out their food. An hour passed and delivery still didn't show up. So I called and the lady on the phone said the delivery man was on his way. So I basically waited over an hour for my food to arrive. When the delivery man came, he said the restaurant was really busy and apologized, then took off in a hurry. My food finally arrived and I was eager to taste it. I first tried the maki rolls. The eel and avocado roll was good but very mediocre. Same goes with the spicy salmon roll, it was decent but nothing special. Then, I tried the chicken thai red curry... the moment I opened the plastic lid I knew it was going to taste horrible. It looked very unappetizing. The chicken and the red curry sauce was terribly bland and tasteless. There was barely any sauce to soak up the side of rice that came with the dish. After waiting over an hour for my delivery and tasting the worst chicken thai red curry in my life, I was very frustrated and disappointed. I will not be ordering again from Sushi Me. read more

Sushi restaurants have opened and closed its door about 3 times now in this exact location. I'm not sure quite frankly why the other ones didn't last. It probably has to do with Whitestone already having 2 other sushi restaurants a block away each from this one and peoples natural reluctant behavior to try new places... So (prospective owner), if you're willing to take that risk and set up shop in such close proximity then you better make sure you're worthy of competing. Although for some reason I feel like this place will last. They're being very smart in offering 50% off (select items) and 20% off (all sushi rolls) for their grand opening, cleverly luring in customers. Because of that this place has typically been busy. Menu: Their sushi deals at the moment are ones that you cannot pass up. I was a tad bit confused because the maki and hand rolls on the menus are extremely cheap! If you look at the picture, the menu items boxed on the left side are done so to denote that they're 50% off, while the rolls on the right aren't. So from my understanding, the price for these rolls are set as written. If that's the case, this is the only sushi restaurant I will be coming to from now on ! Their hardcover menu style is overall fancy but I think they can upgrade from the print out pages with faded color. If you're using such fancy menus you might as well go all the way and make the whole thing classy :) Food: Picture posted below. To start off with I had the green salad and I must say, this is the first time I have received so much ginger sauce! From that alone I was impressed since every other sushi place I've been to is so stingy on that! My bf had the wonton soup which I did not try but he said it was one of the best soups he's had and the broth was nothing like what he expected. We ordered 6 rolls, all from the maki roll section. Everything was honestly delicious and SO FREAKING FRESH! I have no complaints. The sweet potato and spicy tuna were so good! These are usually my go to rolls whenever I want sushi. However, there was definitely something different about the spicy tuna roll. I've gotten it countless times before but this one here at sushi me just topped the cake. Speechless. And its only $4!! The entire meal was very cutely presented. Many places don't do much when it comes to presenting maki rolls. The special rolls get all the bling and pizzazz with 10 different kinds of sauces and whatnot made to look like a literal piece of art. Most places are very boring with the maki rolls, but this place at least tried and I give them credit for that. But theres always room for improvement! Add some more sauces to jazz it up to give the plate more color and design. Customer Service and Atmosphere: Everyone was very friendly. The lady at the counter was all smiles. The entire restaurant was immaculate (I'm a stickler for cleanliness). The waiter accidently charged us for a roll we ordered but did not receive (which I can understand since we ordered 7 rolls) but not holding anything against anyone lol it was properly taken care of without any hassle. I am without a doubt going to come back to Sushi Me to try their other menu items, and I think more Whitestonians (and people) should give it shot! I live in East Elmhurst, a couple miles away from college point / Whitestone, but during this pandemic I've struggled to find a sushi spot with fresh fish & delicious spicy mayo. I literally drive all the way to Sushi Me to enjoy fine quality sushi. This place is delicious, I change up what rolls I select but all the ones I've had have been delicious. They offer lunch specials & have extremely fresh fish. If you have questions the young lady whom answers the phone is polite & informative. The spicy mayo which happens to be my favorite dipping sauce is delicious, not watery and just the perfect serving, Allergic to something ? No worries they take care of that for you. Finally great sushi close to my house! I was so relieved after seeing this Grand Opening on Seamless. With free delivery, a $10 minimum, and good Yelp reviews I decided to give it a try. I ordered the eel avocado roll, spicy kani roll and salmon avocado roll. My order arrived in about 30 minutes and the rolls were very fresh. I love the fact that they have a wide variety of options including ramen. I will be visiting the restaurant quite soon and look forward to trying other food items. I am blown away by the quality of sushi me. I have lived in whitestone my entire 30 years of life and never before have we had a restaurant open up that was so exciting. For a very reasonable price you get excellent high quality fresh sushi, I would like to stress the high quality part, fresh tuna all the time. A sushi establishment worth looking into located in Whitestone Village. The place is quaint and the ambiance is indicative of most sushi places. But the meals are reasonably priced and the specialty rolls are some unique and some rudementary. But for one person will average about thirty five dollars. The sushi sale sign is on and their cheaper than local competitors so After eating here 5x in 1 month I gotta give them some love. Free parking as long as you stay in! No take out. Takeout containers cost money. What makes this place unique is their snow crab salad as an ingredient in many rolls. Snow crab eel??? Why yes thank you. It's Cooked so if I got too much it's still 100 percent good next day. I always, always get too much. Note: sushi needs to be eaten warm room temp not fridge cold so if Impatient, give it 10 secs in the microwave, so just enough to get room temp. I've ordered delivery from this place a few times, the first times I tried their kiwi vegetable roll and my friend got the 7 piece sushi regular, both where really good. Now the last time I ordered I got a lunch special which had a choice of 3 types of sushi and came with miso soup. The delivery was a bit late, the miso soup seemed like the instant kind (but for the price I didn't expect it to be great) I had the vegetable roll and it was pretty good, their mango avocado roll was decent not the best thing ever and their sweet potato roll tasted a lot like grease, fried batter and a just little bit like sweet potato, I honestly didn't like it. I think the kitchen staff may have changed. I ordered the hot & sour soup and was disappointed. It came Luke warm and very thick. I sent it back it came back hot but I had to add pepper to and it still didn't taste right. I ordered a salmon teriyaki with the sauce on the side and brown rice. It came with the sauce on top and white rice. I didn't want to press my luck and send that back . The salmon was good but they fried the shumai??? Instead of steamed it tasted spongey. I ordered spring rolls they were very good. Hope to see an improvement next time. Very nice people. read more
