Sushi Miguel's Style in Highland is the place for very good, affordable food, mainly sushi, but also Asian-inspired food. Sushi Miguel's is not a fancy place, but the food and service are really good, making Miguel's an excellent place for lunch or dinner. Sushi Miguel's Style's prices are very reasonable for the quality and service received. There are a couple of dozen roll options and a bunch of plate and bowl options, so everyone should be able to find something they like. For the folks that don't eat sushi, there are Asian-inspired offerings such as Beef, Chicken, Short Rib or Salmon Teriyaki bowls. On this visit I had the 2 Item Combo and selected the 1) Shrimp Veg Tempura and the 2) Hot Night Roll. The Combo came with Miso Soup, Salad, and Rice. The Salad comes pre-dressed and was crisp and cold. The Miso Soup was temperature-hot and brothy. The highlights were the Shrimp & Veg Tempura, which were perfectly coated and fried to crisp, but not overcooked inside. The shrimp was a nice size, and the sweet potato was particularly good. The Hot Night roll was very good, and features spicy tuna, cream cheese, avocado, eel sauce and spicy mayo. The 2 Item Combo is filling and IMHO, a really good value. The Miguel's Specialty Tostadas will definitely be ordered on my next visit. They really sounded good, and as a featured offering, must be really good since the regular fare is so good. read more

Walked in and there was no one at the restaurant which should have been a sign. Got the all you can eat since it's my first time here to really get a feel of the restaurant. Got a mixture of nigiri, rolls and appetizers. It's unfortunate that the Mexican themed rolls are not part of the ayce, I feel like those were the unique ones to try. The fish on the nigiris were fresh but it comes with a huge chunk of rice. The quality of rice was very average. All the rolls were also so much rice than fish. The fried roll was weirdly not crispy. This is a Highland local favorite. This place was hopping when I came but they got us in pretty quick. This location is pretty small and has very limited seating, but if you are good with sitting at the sushi counter then you can usually find a spot! SERVICE: I always get great service here. They seat us quickly and they are attentive and get us our food and drinks quickly. Especially my Sapporo ;) FOOD: Their sushi always tastes fresh and they have a great selection of spicy rolls (YUM). I usually get their tiger roll. Food was great but service was horrible. Our server was very rude middle aged mexican girl maybe around 35-40. She didnt even bother taking a drink order. Just made us wait 20 mins and then asked if we were ready to order. Didnt bring plates or soy sauce bowls. The restaurant wasnt even very busy. She Ignored me everytime I said thank you and then got in a full blown argument with us because our son had a couple bites of the popcorn lobster off my husbands plate since he ordered all you can eat. My son had his own entree that was almost the same price as the all you can eat sushi price, he just wanted a piece of the lobster not even the rolls underneath. I would understand if he didnt order anything and was just completely eating off my husbands all you can eat plate, but that wasnt the case at all. She made a huge deal and completely killed our appetite. We wont be going back which is sad cause we really love it there. We left her no tip! She made a big deal about price and ultimately lost money by trying to save 3$. I hope she develops a better attitude or gets fired because she just lost this restaurant a frequent customer. Food was okay but they do not value customer service. My 4 year old doesn't eat sushi and they didn't allow us to bring any food in just for him. Everyone else ordered sushi. Great little place. It was nice walking in from the heat of the day and be welcomed by a clean, inviting place. The ac kept the place cool and I was impressed by how clean even the bathrooms were. Delicious vegetable tempura. I ended up getting the Tempura Mix, and let me tell you, the batter was light and fluffy, the vegetables were fresh. I ended up getting an order of the Pot Stickers as well. They were delicious as well. The Egg Rolls were very well made. All three of them were $29. The staff was friendly, and the restaurant looked clean. The restaurant is kind of tucked away in the corner, and unless you know it's there, you might just drive by it. The sushi was still good no issues with the food, but my wife and I had two all you can eat, water to drink, nothing else ordered, and everybody should be aware of the price is crept up to just under $80! with a tip, we walked out of there for $90 for two people to eat sushi with not even having a drink! unfortunately, this will be the last time we go there. very disappointing especially with all the different choices. I stopped by here for the first time yesterday to try they're all you can eat special which is $39 after 3 o'clock. It's a nice little sushi bar with a few tables and it's clean and nicely decorated. The service staff was attentive and friendly. I especially enjoyed their fried calamari and muscles. They were very generous with the slice of fish that went on top of the sushi pieces. The food is always on point and the service is very friendly and non judgmental as I rack up the delicious sashimi on my big back AYCE order. Aldahir is a stand out server that is knowledgeable about the menu, he's professional , and attentive. The Miguel's style(chile oil and onions ) adds a little spice for a great fusion. For me it's what sets it apart from everywhere else. Never had a bad experience here and would strongly recommend for anyone who likes some spice with their sushi. Parking is easy and always available, the inside is well lit and they keep the place clean. They recently started a $30 AYCE and buy 1 get another roll half off on Tuesdays. Always a great time coming to this location. We've been lucky that every time we come it's usually not busy so the service is quick and friendly. The restaurant itself is rather small but they have a decent amount of seating including seating at the sushi bar. It's located next to the grocery store in a big shopping center so there is a large shared parking lot and always plenty of parking. Their sushi is my favorite! I love the Mexican/Japanese fusion and how a lot of their rolls come with chili oil. Delicious! The only bummer about this location is that they do not serve the unagi bowl. I really don't recommend coming here for AYCE or if you have a baby. Whenever I get ayce here I feel like I'm being watched like a hawk and policed. I asked for side sauces and was told I'd be charged if I asked for any more sauces when I'm paying for...idk...all I can eat? Then, we had a BABY with us. The same thing happened to us that happened to a different review on here about a baby reaching so a little rice and being met with getting told we'd be charged an AYCE fee for a BABY that isn't going to sit there a slam a roll back and try like a few pieces of rice at least. After sharing this story with someone they even let me know that this place tried making her place her baby in the hallway bc they only had a two person table near the bathroom before.
