I got the set with shrimp, pork, and chicken and it was fire. I've been coming here to pickup lunch regularly (ghost kitchen). The Santa Clara and Sunnyvale location and about the same, can't tell any difference in quality. My favorite is the shrimp with the tartar sauce. The fry they put on the Katsu is also special, much flakier and crispier than a typical fry. Amazing Katsu really shines where it counts: the katsu itself. Both the chicken and pork katsu are consistently excellent--crispy, perfectly fried, and still juicy inside. No heaviness, no grease. Just very solid comfort food done right. The double meat katsu does not come with curry sauce, even though the name and the photo make it seem like it does. What actually comes out is a lot of cabbage, a small amount of rice, and no curry. You can order curry sauce on the side, but it's a very small portion for the price--more like a dipping sauce than something you can really pour over your katsu and rice. Because of that, we usually end up making our own curry and rice at home to pair with their katsu. I personally skip the premium tonkatsu since it's a bit too fatty for me, but the regular pork and the chicken are both excellent and dependable. This location is a pick up location only so there wasn't anywhere to sit. We ended up eating in our car however we were not provided with any utensils. I found something in my food that shouldn't have been in there - which is the one knock we had against the place. Had the pork loin,tenders and shrimp combo. Now that's thick, juicy and lean pork tenderloins. Good size shrimp too. The batter is light, airy, and tasty. I was concerned that with the thick cuts it would be overly oily, but found more juice than oil so surprisingly not overly oily. Maybe because I picked up about 20 mins late and provided more time for oil to drain. I've read some people being critical of the pork being light in flavor. I would say a bit watery to substitute the oil with. With that the Katsu sauce is typical and good, but a bit underwhelming, too light for this thick and juicy stuff. Now the curry sauce hits well and highly recommend to provide the perfect Katsu experience. Some prior ad pics show what appears to be scoops of potato salad.
