Sushi and Sashimi on a bridge serving tray Ebi (Shrimp), Kani (Crab), Unagi (Eel), Salmon, Yellowtail, Egg Custard, Tobiko (Roe)

I have been dining at Sushi Palace for at least decade. They have a pre-set menu, all you can eat from the sushi bar and kitchen. My all time favorites are Beef Udon, and Potato Tempura besides the sushi. I am a sucker for aesthetics so when my first round came on a wooden tray, well, I'm sold for life. There is nothing like being served food on actual serving dishes rather than disposables during the height of COVID. This is a yay for me! Sushi is always delicious. You can mix and match between the sushi bar and the kitchen items or make a combo. I would recommend ordering another set when nearly finishing the first, conscientious of how much more you can eat so that you aren't waiting for a time, or, get some tea or a bit of sake. Servers are absolutely friendly. Wave for assistance if needed. Thank you for running this business for as long as you have!

Does not disappoint! The all-you-can-eat menu is full of fresh options, but the highlight for me is always the sushi boat. Such a fun way to try a variety, and everything tastes so fresh. Don't shy away from trying their unique rolls too like the Godzilla (deep fried and filled with mozzarella, jalapeño, crab, and salmon, and yes, it totally works). You could also add on unlimited beer for only an additional $5. They recently added fried Oreos to their menu as well which is such a fun note to end the meal on. Service is fast and the value can't be beat.

I usually visit Sushi Palace during my break from work. They often try to convince me to get the all you can eat sushi, but I know exactly what I want and have a limited amount of time. I don't overeat during lunch because my office job makes me sleepy if I'm too full. I typically order a Japanese soda along with a shrimp tempura roll. The rolls here are amazing, and the service is decent. I would like to come back one day to try other options. (Please fix the parking lot)

We went to Sushi Palace for our first all-you-can-eat sushi experience, and we couldn't have been happier with our visit! We were impressed to find quality sushi despite it being "ayce", and they didn't overload the rolls with rice to try and fill you up quicker. Very clean place, and the staff were friendly and attentive, making for a smooth ordering experience. I would recommend this spot to sushi lovers, anyone looking to try all you can eat sushi for the first time, or even someone just starting out with sushi and looking to explore different rolls at a reasonable price!

They are honestly the best. My boyfriend and I come here at least once a month ever since my friend recommended it to me. We have tried several other all you can eat sushi places in Connecticut, but so far this one is our favorite. It is a bit of a drive from where we live, but we never mind because it is always worth it. As soon as you walk in, you can see the sushi chef working and preparing the rolls, which makes the experience even better. The ambience can be a bit loud depending on the time you go, but it never feels dull. They always have great music playing, and the customer service is amazing. I personally love ordering the Yummy Maki specialty roll and the sushi pizza. Everything tastes incredibly fresh, and the fish is so smooth and buttery. My boyfriend used to prefer only cooked sushi, but this restaurant completely changed that. He always says that nothing compares to the freshness and quality of the food here, especially compared to other places where the salmon and fish can taste hard or dry.

We may live close to 40 miles away, but this is my family's go-to place for all-you-can-eat sushi and Japanese food. (The AYCE sushi places around us just don't compare.) The only uncommon thing is that the appetizers or small plates from the kitchen get all put onto one plate (similar to how all the sushi gets served on 1 platter); this makes for getting the sauces difficult, as they pour the sauces (like tempura sauce or teriyaki sauce on top). With the Crispy Calamari, it gets served with a (very) sweet mango sauce. Service is fine, and they're relatively quick. Although we usually have parking, the spaces around the restaurant are limited (especially on a busy night).

The food was pretty good for a sushi restaurant in town. I did the All you can eat option which is really a good choice if you're a big eater. The service was nice and they were mainly attentive.

We been here many time before, it's been 7years so we try to go back and see what's this place are into, we get in the place wasn't that busy, but it's summer no student around and locals can eat in the restaurants without reservation,, The food is good, fresh, but is not as good as I remember, I understand this is Eat all you can, but the quality and the presentation of the food you order hmmmm, ok .... And the ambience is ok.... I know this is Eat all you can, what do you expect, still very good quality of SUSHI, I can come back here again next time I'm Craving to eat Sushi...

3.5/5 -- The sushi here is surprisingly fresh and delicious for all you can eat. They have a fairly wide selection of salmon and tuna rolls which I appreciated and lots of side dish options as well. And honestly they were all very delicious The service was a bit slow and be forewarned, when my friend and I asked if they have gluten-free options, they seemed confused so we're assuming they do not have those options. They still let my friend sit with us as we had our fill our sushi though and did not charge her which was nice! My qualm, though, is that it is quite pricey for an all you can eat dinner of this caliber. We each paid about $38, including tax and tip, because dinner on weekends is pricier. If I am paying that much, I would've wanted more than just salmon, tuna, shrimp, and imitation crab, but at the end of the day it is all you can eat so if you eat a lot, you will definitely have your money's worth!

Sushi Palace is amazing! Don't be discouraged by the external appearance of this neighborhood -- Sushi Palace is an awesome spot with all you can eat sushi for one price. They have great variety and something for everyone, even non-sushi fans!

    Very salty Edamame Kitchen Starter.

I went to Sushi Palace in Hamden last night, prior to going I looked at the reviews on Yelp, they're mostly 4-5 stars. I can't say my experience rated so great. This is an all you can eat sushi restaurant. They bring you little slips to mark your order. Several other places have the same system. We were a party of four. We first ordered four soups, edamame to share, and seaweed salads. Then the sushi. All their dishware and utensils, all of it, including the soy sauce container are disposable. The cups are the red cups that always remind me of playing beer pong in college. Presentation is not their priority. However, if the sushi is out of this world amazing, that's what matters. The seaweed salad came out in styrofoam cups, it was good, I just have a weird feeling sitting in a restaurant eating from plastic containers and plates. I'm not sure if this is a covid reason, or if they always did this. Or maybe they're having trouble with their dishwasher. Here is where the issue begins, two soups came out, two were never brought out. I asked the waitress, and to be completely honest I couldn't understand a word of what she said. I just let it go. I figured that's probably enough food anyway. The edamame also never came out. Then the sushi came out. The sushi comes out on a real plate, but it's covered in cling wrap. Also the plate with the ginger and wasabi is also covered in cling wrap. I have no words. Does this mean these plates don't get washed between customers? They just change the cling wrap? Guess what? I really hate to say it, but the sushi was no good. One of the rolls I enjoyed, can't say what it was called. But the rest of it was very bland and hard. The edamame arrived at the very end. I just don't understand, it was an appetizer. I didn't know you could go wrong with it. But now I know. It was so salty, unbearably overly salty. Anytime I'd try to get the waitress' attention with "excuse me" she would totally ignore me. I have to say she was good with drink refills. As soon as she did that she'd run. I absolutely cannot recommend this place.

None of the food was the proper temperature. I should have left, but when we brought this up to the staff, they pretended not to speak English. I switched first to Mandarin, then to Cantonese, and they literally turned and walked away. Sushi rolls were CRUNCHY because they had gotten stale from sitting so long. The fish was tangy like it had gone bad. The hibachi was fine, easily the best feature. Manager kicked us out not long after being seated because they said they didn't have enough customers and were closing. They didn't knock anything off the price, but we still had to leave. We tipped the sushi guy, the hibachi guy, AND our table waitress, and she made a comment about us not being generous enough, possibly because we gave the grill guy and sushi guy only $3 each, but c'mon. Completely ripped off, and have been suffering awful food poisoning for days now. Crazy levels of bad. I hate leaving 1-star reviews, but this place deserves it. Warm and welcoming. We were all happy with our appetizers and drinks. I had a Mediterranean feta dip. I tried my husbands and it was nice and smooth with hints of honey. My sister in law and I had white raspberry vodka martinis. Again smooth and refreshing. At this point, we all would've given the place a solid five. That is until the steaks came. Three of us had the dry aged ribeyes we ordered them medium rare. They were served well done. Not a hint of red or pink! The waitress asked us to cut into them to see if they were to our liking. We all said they were overcooked. Not the waitresses fault. She was great. We asked what they did with overdone ones sent back and she said they 86'd them. We couldn't bare throwing all that food out so we ate them. The char on the outside was good but we feel that's what caused them to be overdone. The flavor was ok but at $68 a plate you expect your steak to be served the way you requested it. We were very disappointed and no compensation was offered. By the way, the guy at the table behind us sent his back because it was overdone as well. My husband had the surf and turf special filet with shrimp over mashed potatoes. He was happy with his meal. It's a beautiful place and we were happy with everything except the steak. But that's a big except when that is the reason we went there. If you go and want medium rare ask for rare and you might get lucky. Otherwise stick to the tavern down below the steakhouse.
