I was on the hunt for an all you can eat sushi place for a few reasons. First off, I LOVE sushi and don't get to have it often so I was looking to indulge! Second, I wanted to try some new rolls. And this was JUST the place. We stopped in mid day during the week and it wasn't busy. Our server explained the process for ordering and we were well on our way! The sushi came out quickly, was fresh and so delicious! All you can eat also included a number of kitchen entrees, appetizers and soups. It really was worth the cost. I would have spent much more if I would have ordered our spread at a traditional sushi spot. Overall, I had such a great experience and would definitely recommend. The one draw back was the lack of photos on the menu. I wished there were photos because we ordered new rolls but couldn't figure out which they were for next time. This AYCE spot is definitely a go to spot for me. I've visited multiple times in 2023 and there is no doubt that I will continue to visit. It's hard to find good and affordable AYCE sushi in general but this place is easily a favorite of mine. As usual , I ordered too much food but luckily, I was still able to eat it all. The only con for me about this place is that sometimes they will get my order wrong and forget a piece or add too much of something else that I didn't order. Sushi Palace is actually a palace, and here's why. I only write reviews when credit is due, and Sushi Palace definitely earns it. It's casual, nothing fancy, but the food? Wow. I'm gonna be as honest as I can be.This place is truly a typical, factory styled restaurant. No life...no personality. Upon entering...the place just has a cheap looking, "trying to be Japanese" style. You can tell that was most likely what they're trying to do. This ain't it. I know for a fact that most of the staff aren't even Japanese. They were mainly speaking Chinese. Anyway...as far as the staff goes, they are extremely unprofessional. They sat me and my buddy down rather quickly...but took a long time to actually come to the table and take our orders. Anytime we wanted to call them over for a refill or an extra order...we were met with rolling eyes and annoyance. Don't know what we were doing so wrong that bothered them...but I can tell you that's no way to treat people who are paying you. Anyway...the food itself was okay enough. Not good...not bad. I've honestly had better sushi in my local supermarket. The biggest turn-off for me were the sticky floors and the insects that were crawling around. This joint is a bit pricey too. My daughter was dying to go to an AYCE sushi place so we ended up back here although the last experience wasn't the greatest. The place was completely empty with the exception of maybe 5 other people and the workers literally stand around you like it's the Red light district, like flies that hawk you... it's very odd, not to mention uncomfortable. I don't eat alot so I ordered from the regular hibachi menu and the steak hibachi was mehhh at its best for almost $21.00 and a small portion, go to Edo's for amazing hibachi and giant portions... the AYCE option is $32, 7 days a week... The sushi will either be amazing, mediocre or straight disgusting. It's really just a roll of the dice here so proceed with caution. We came here for the first time Post-Covid and were not disappointed... Their food was as good as always. Good sushi, good appetizers and they are still offering Hibachi but with one tiny change, if you want hibachi, you have now to order it and they'll bring it to you as you customized it. Their service had an incredible upgrade due to covid. The waiters and waitresses make a few rounds around the restaurant every few minutes to make sure you get what you want when you want it, we loved that!!! I really appreciate the service at this location. The price per person is reasonable with vast options, including hibachi buffet. The sushi was ok, Fish did not taste all that fresh. Be sure to order the fried calamari and the squid cooked in ink. The green tea ice cream was very good. The place is outdated and the small parking lot is very uncomfortable. Horrible customer service. I use to come here once a week a few years ago. The way the servers hover over you and constantly placing their hands on the table without you being done is uncalled for. I came here today with my family because my husband was craving this and I instantly remembered why we stopped coming here. To top it off My youngest son is a picky eater and was not participating in the all you can eat or eating anything at all he usually eats before or after we go out to restaurants. 4 people came to our table back to back accusing him of eating even though he doesn't eat not one thing on the menu. The shrimp tempura they put in the sushi is not fresh at all. It is cold and the batter is hard and dry. The tempura items that you can order are very heavy on the batter and not that flavorful. Sushi is packed with a lot of rice. Sashimi slices are thin and small. They charge $1.50 for hot tea and you have to flag them to get a refill. I went in to eat here on 03/31/23. Waited 20 mins to get a table, and before I could finally sit and look at the menu, a waiter asked me what I wanted to drink. The same waiter didn't know what was on the menu and decided to be rude because of that. I got a passion fruit green tea boba, boba was misshapen and hard. To eat, I ordered crab rangoons and lo mein. The crab rangoons were burnt and served with two packets of duck sauce. Don't even get me started with the lo mein. It was WHITE and did not smell appetizing. The chicken in the lo mein looked boiled with no seasoning. Been going here since we moved to yonkers. This place has watched our family grow from 2 kids out on a date to a family of 4. Went in today with my parents and little brother for dinner. We come often and were super excited. while we were halfway through dinner, I saw a roach on the wall right by our table. I panicked and stood up. We asked for the check and said we did not want the rest of the food. We told the lady there was a roach to which she said she could do nothing about it because she had not seen it. They sat another party at our table as we were paying. When they pulled the table out the roach was on the floor. We did not ask for a free meal nor expected one. Parking is limited, but not impossible. The waiters and waitresses were super nice, super attentive and had really great energy about them. They all worked with one another to serve us and the other patrons at the restaurant. They didn't rush us like most all you can eat sushi places. They were smiling, happy and frequently asked if we wanted another menu, drink, etc (not pressuring us, they were genuinely asking). The sushi came out within 10-12 minutes. It was super delicious. Finally ventured to sushi palace!! and man was it a delightful experience. I was so damn full i thought I was going to blow but I was able to recover. Of course we did the all you can eat which is beyond worth it. The food comes out so much faster than expected and the quality is great. You also get the hibachi station included plus udon soups, tempura everything, desserts etc. I will definitely be back here given the chance and when in the area. While my family has been here a handful of times before, we stopped by about a month ago for a birthday dinner. While I am certainly not one to understand all the subtleties of sushi as a cuisine, I can definitely tell the difference between bad sushi and good sushi and Sushi Palace is a place you can go to get a decent sushi buffet for a pretty good value. The quality of the sushi does vary from time to time and on this particular visit, the salmon and the white tuna were pretty good. Though we did order some squid that night that was definitely sub-par. Our go-to roll is definitely the Central Park Roll which features shrimp tempura with cucumbers, avocados, and a spicy mayo sauce. Some of the other rolls can tend towards being too much or too bland. The hibachi that they offer is usually great especially if there are some in your party who do not enjoy sushi. read more
