Tried this place for the first time with my family. Located in bronxville, one of our favorite little villages in westchester county. There is metered street parking available however there is a large municipal parking lot nearby should street parking not be available. The area is popular and fun with lots of shopping and eateries available. My family and I have been to other locations of Haiku and were expecting the same or a similar type of experience. We were wrong. This location is very small and has more or a take out experience rather than the fine dining experience provided by the other haiku locations. We also noticed that the menu was slightly different from the other locations as well. The restaurant offers a variety of Asian styled fusion cuisine. The tables are small and cramped. The restaurant appeared a bit dingy and out dated. The service was ok. The atmosphere was very laid back. We ordered the chirashi meal. The sashimi was fresh and served beautifully in the bowl over a bed of seasoned rice. The fish was good quality and was very tasty. The prices are a bit high but very common for the area. Came here for dinner on a Thursday night with my friends and it was very delicious. We were seated quickly and even got to pick where we at because they offered us a table more inside so we weren't called by the door. The service is so fast here blows my mind but everything came out super good super fresh very delicious overall I've been here multiple times and it's really nice. I've actually never eaten in here before and this was the first time I've ever dined in and it was really nice. This place hits the spot for your local sushi craving. The staff there are all very nice and the food comes fast. We ordered the peppercorn squid and tempura mix for our appetizers and both were very crispy and delicious. For my main dish, I ordered the sushi and sashimi lunch when cam out to around $17 dollars. The presentation was very nice and the sushi was fresh. Overall I enjoyed this restaurant and would highly recommend it. The prices for their regular dishes are quite expensive but the lunch or dinner specials are a pretty good deal. read more

Another great place in Bronxville that I've walked passed dozens of times. Today, I had a sushi craving while at Bronxville, so I decided to give this place a try. I ordered the sushi/sashimi deluxe in addition to a California roll & an ocean roll and I was in Sushi bliss. The hot sake was smooth and delicious served at the right temperature. Had to take one star off for service. Not sure if it had anything to do with us sitting outside, but our waiter was HORRIBLE. We literally had to walk inside to get help, or knock on the window until someone pointed out to him that we needed assistance. There was no excuse for that type of service because the restaurant was NOT busy. He was either busy on his phone or with the host. Thankfully towards the end someone else took over our table. Life would've been so much better if we had that guy from the beginning. Other than that, the food was good. The seaweed salad is BOMB. Had to order 2. The cucumber saki is to die for!! We were desperate to find out where we could buy that for our homes. Lol. Terrible customer service! Ordered through Uber Eats app this evening. I called the restaurant first to ask if they could replace the chicken in the pad thai and another dish with tofu as it is lent and we have a vegan. They said to just put it in the special directions, which I did, very clearly. When the order arrived, the pad thai had chicken. I called and they said their chef had made the mistake but they couldn't help me that I had to go through uber eats and get a refund. Okay, mistakes happen. I asked if I could order the correct dish through them since she said they do have delivery within 3 miles. We are 1.7 miles away (I looked it up). I didn't l want to pay the fee and delivery for uber again since I'd paid it once already. She said no. I said I'd pay for the order since I would get a refund through uber I just wanted to put in an order by phone and was already told they would deliver within three miles. She wouldn't take my order and said I was outside their delivery area, which I am not. I was really nice and patient on the phone and tried to explain what I wanted thinking maybe she didn't understand. But she just tried to get me off the phone and kept saying to contact uber eats. So now after an hour and half, $85, and doing everything I should have done with patience and politeness, one person in the family still doesn't have dinner, has to wait another 45 minutes for arrival (from another place of course), and we have to pay fees and a tip again. I was disappointed with last nights take out order. Some of my family ordered Sushi and California rolls that they raved about. I had Wonton soup that I did not care for. I enjoyed my 2 spicy spring rolls. I have to give it only 3 stars because my Sesame Chicken was severely overcooked. The flavor was there but when I saw how dark the chicken looked, I knew I was in trouble. Some of the large pieces that I cut in half were a little bit more edible. The smaller pieces were too tough to chew. I guess the bad chef was on and he made my dish unsatisfactory. read more

As always Haiku bronxville is consistent. This isn't your what I call "fast food" Chinese it's a step above. Been getting Haiku for over 15 years and they've always been on it. Tried a new dish which was the Seafood Treasure Platter which I was looking for something not so thick and it was great! Hey all! FYI something happened here. I mean it has taken a recent turn for the worse. I used to like everything here but the last few times something dramatic has changed to the food. I asked them what gives? They refuse to tell me why the recipes have changed. I wondered if they had a new manger or new chefs or new owner. But they give no info. Rather than immediately correct the mistake, the server opted to question whether my boys ordered the right item, even though my friends and I heard all heard the same thing. Didn't get to go for a while because the place got weird after Covid closing the indoor dining, wasn't willing to actually get sick sitting out in the freezing cold for sesame chicken, but once they went back to normal, I was happy after every meal. The kani salad is a must for starters for me, followed by some sushi which I've always experienced to be fresh, and either sesame or general tsao chicken with white rice. The chicken is always good quality and cooked perfectly. The staff is always friendly. Just a good spot in general. read more

There are a number of Haikus in Westchester - I've been to the ones in Scarsdale and White Plains but last night was my first time dining at their Bronxville location. The food at Haiku is good - it's fresh, tasty, and pretty consistent. The menu has a number of sushi, sashimi, and general Asian dishes. Last night we started with some shumai, gyoza, and Szechuan spicy wontons - all of which were great. For my main I had a combination of three rolls - spicy shrimp roll, shrimp avocado roll, and California roll. The rolls weren't up to par with what I've had at their sister locations, but was still good overall. Aesthetically, this is my least favorite Haiku - it's a small restaurant with a light wood-tone color scheme. I much prefer the darker wood tones found at Scarsdale and White Plains- they speak to me more, plus those dining rooms are much roomier. This place is good if you live in Bronxville since it's accessible, but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back here. read more

Came here on a Friday night with my BFF for a nice dinner. The restaurant was lively but small and they wedged us between two other tables when there was more room further back. We were all bunched up front...guess they want to look good to the passers by. We had the edamame and gyoza and I must say that the gyoza was the best I have ever had in my life. Pure perfection......would go back ONLY for these. I ordered some sushi and was thrilled to hear that they had Uni (Sea urchin) so I ordered two pieces with some other selections. The uni was slimy and creepy looking. I put on my big girl panties and went to work on my sushi plate. Everything else was pretty standard but the uni was by far the most repulsive thing I have ever tasted in my life. Bitter with the worst flavor I have ever experienced. We all know that sushi can be a crap shoot but both pieces were equally disgusting. I didn't want to offend my BFF who suggested this restaurant so I did what I thought was best......spit it into my napkin and the rest that was on the plate I buried under the veggie spiral they have for decoration and pretended everything was fabulous. Paid the bill and left and would only order gyoza from there via take out in the future if I ever get an insane gyoza craving......doubtful but it could happen. read more

A heads-up that I hope helps someone else: This restaurant overcharged us by about $15 and I caught it and mentioned it to the waitress when I gave her my credit card. To my shock, she processed the higher, fraudulent amount, then issued a "credit", then charged the correct amount. When I got home, there were TWO charges, one for the higher, fraudulent amount and one for the correct amount and NO credit. I contacted my bank and they said they would monitor it, but it would take some days before a credit can be issued. When I asked for the name of the manager, they said they didn't know it and that they wouldn't be in today at all. I am generously still giving a star as the food was not bad, although the broccoli (for both of us) was ice cold, as if fresh out of fridge. This place was horrible, my girlfriend and I wanted to try this place for a while. Well we did and it just sucked. I ordered from a chefs roll. Basically wanted a California roll, but with shrimp. The waitress gave me a dirty look, and had to explain to her 3 times what I wanted. Well she of course gave me something different, and had some type of puree fish on top. It was not appetizing. My girlfriend ordered a chicken dish with rice. Well her salad dressing was bitter, her chicken was cold, which meant it was not made fresh, and rice was not good. I ordered takeout from here - it really deserves 3.5 stars, but it's a pandemic, so I'll round up to 4 stars instead of down to 3 stars. The sushi that we ordered was excellent and was the best part of the meal. The soups were also tasty, but one of them had a small piece of wood in it that I almost swallowed. The Pad Thai came with a huge portion (enough to eat for two meals), but it simply wasn't very good. I would have preferred a smaller portion size for the same price but a better meal. Passion sushi was very creative and delicious! We got the seaweed salad (recommend), gyoza (solid but not a must-have), geisha, passion and daily special sushi's (all really good). I loved the green tea too. Good outdoor seating adog friendly. Update: this became one of our favorite summer restaurants. The wonton soup is really nice (but no the Szechuan wonton appetizer--too oily) and we love the outta control roll, passion roll, geisha roll and nippon roll. The seaweed salad is of course yummy and fresh. It's easy most nights to get a table outdoors and the service is pretty fast! I'm a long time customer but unfortunately they keep switching cooks owners and so forth, I asked to order shrimp with broccoli and to add grilled onions, waitress pointed out that this specific meal, I thought it would be similar so I opted to try and it was absolutely gross. I sat it to the side because I just couldn't eat it and she came back to ask if I liked it and I told her no it had a really bad taste, so I proceeded to try my son sesame chicken which was ridiculously hard, unfortunately today none of the food taste fresh and I think we just need to skip here for a bit as the food and service has dwindled, the waitress went as far to say well we can't switch it when I didn't even ask, once something taste bad, I don't proceed to try any thing else so maybe try lunch a different cook could be on board but we are here at 6 and I have to look for an alternate for dinner, a waste of money . read more

We did a delivery for dinner tonight and the prices have gone through the roof and you get so much less food. We paid $4.00 for extra vegetables for the Teriyaki Chicken....nothing came. So I called and they laughed saying "Yeah we don't put it on the side, we put it with the meal"...so the tiny bit of veggies is what you get regardless if you pay the regular fee or add the extras on. They have gone downhill over the years! Don't waste your money there. $24 for half a chicken breast, 4 pieces of broccoli and two tiny pieces of carrot. Awful. Don't eat here! read more
