A good spot in downtown Sacramento. I would have hoped for more raw fish rolls but they were mostly fried or cooked. Ended up getting the chirashi and it was a great size. The fish were fresh too. Staff is friendly and helpful. Space is clean and a good amount of distance between all the tables, making it pleasant.

Came here on a Sunday in the afternoon and the place was very chill and slow. The staff were very nice and I ordered the sun and k street roll. The rolls came out in 15-20 mins. The rolls were delicious and very filling. I would definitely recommend and come back

Was in SacTown for a conference and Sushi Paradise was within walking distance of the arena. I ordered the Paradise roll for to go. The roll was so delicious, II had to come back the next day. . Although, I did opted for the set lunch meal of salmon bento. For the value lunch price, this was a great deal. It was busy on this day but I had to give the service some grace. They still managed to tend to all the customers in an efficient and courteous manner. The lunch was great. As I was eating it, I did doubt myself if it was a bit too much to eat the bento lunch knowing I had a small window for lunch due to the conference. Nevertheless, I the miso soup was hot and was full of umami. The salmon itself was cooked to perfection and was seasoned well. I skipped on the rice since the box came with walnut shrimp and salad. Overall, this was a great lunch spot with its proximity to the arena.

Was staying for sacanime. Stopped by for sushi. I'll be generous and give 4 stars Service - good for how busy it was. They sat us right away (somehow). Food - I ended up getting a 2 item bento. Beef teriyaki was great. Chicken teriyaki it needed a thicker sauce. It lacked flavor. Rice and salad were fine. Could use more of that sauce on the salad Price is a bit steep. It's like $15 for appetizer and $20 for entree. It should be more like $10 for app and $15 for entree. Will I come again? Maybe if friends wants to

Came here with a lunch date and got here after noon. We waited to be seated. The resturant was already full by the time we got there. We were seated right away. The server was pretty busy looks like there was only 2 server for the whole resturant we put in our orders an order the spicy edamame. Took us a lot longer to get our sushi rolls. Seems like they only had 3 people rolling sushi seems to not have enough people working for the amount of people in the resturant the sushi was good but the service is slow. Took an about a 30-40 to get our rolls. I suggest either coming early before the lunch rush or coming after the lunch rush. Overall food was on point.

Came for the udon! Pretty good for what's around the area. Service was nice as well, but it wasn't a very busy day.

I was back in town for a conference, and I thought I would revisit this place. I stopped last year. I enjoyed my K Street roll, and the gyoza was as good as I remember it last year. Service was friendly, pretty quick considering how crowded it was at noon today this place will remain on my list of good stops in downtown!

Rainbow roll, double tuna, k street...all fantastic!

WOW! Must try in Sacramento and in a perfectly located spot that's easy to get to and has plenty of seating. It's right across from the movie theater and has a parking garage behind it. The sushi is incredibly fresh and delicious. The staff are quick and friendly. I can't recommend it enough!

Came here for dinner with my friend after we decided to try a new place instead of our go-tos, and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is very clean and cute inside, the staff were super nice, and the food was delicious. We got the spicy edamame and it was so so delicious, spicy, saucy, salty, with pieces of fried jalapeño and onion that were a perfect touch. Both our rolls were delicious and filling. I'll definitely be back to try more items!

    Dead Lady bug in rice
    Caren C.

My husband and I really liked this place but sadly we won't be coming back. There was a dead lady bug in my rice. So disgusting. They gave a refund on only my plate after we had to drive back down to the restaurant since it was a phone order and we picked up. The lady bug was stuck in my rice and I noticed it before I put it in my mouth which scared tf out of me. First time I've ever had a bug in my food from a restaurant. I'm so disappointed because the food and sushi is actually pretty good. The lady bug was clearly cooked in the rice.

In Sacramento for a conference. I was looking for take-out near the Sheraton. Found this place by chance. Ordered Beef Yakisoba (17.95) and Edamame appetizer (spicy) (5.95) it was all still steaming hot when I got back to my room. Order was filled quickly. Food was awesome! Lots of beef and crunchy cooked veggies. Slight bit of heat to the noodles and very flavorful. Edamame spice just right. Generous portions. Could have fed 2 people. Price very reasonable fir the location

Best sushi and staff I've ever encountered in my whole life, fully serious! I'm visiting from San Diego, so that's a large claim! 1000/10 just go here . Came here alone and the vibes were immaculate, felt so cozy and welcoming! Very clean and peaceful as well. This place is now a staple on my list next time I find myself in Sac!

Stopped in for a lunch during the work week. It wasn't very busy and I was served quickly after my partner arrived. Quick and good service. Ordered 2 nigiri and 2 rolls- The Paradise and the Tiger. I absolutely loved the Paradise and the variety of the fish with the spicy tuna on top. The Tiger was good as well. Overall, a good spot for some fresh sushi!

We sat at the bar area so, we didn't see how it was being made. My husband and I thought they probably forgot about our order and was sitting out for awhile. Butterr-y tuna. Different textures bursting with different flavors. Drank the leftover sauce! Lol. Tuna seemed fresh. Ngiri Mix $48+ (2 Orders) - We decided to give this another try. This time they sat us where all the chefs were making the dishes, so I finally saw how they make ngiri. There is 1 guy who makes it and I didn't like how he would make the ngiris but was not served asap. He would make about 3 sets at a time or some thing like that. The time from when it's made and time where it's served is too long. That is why the fish is warm by the time it got to us. Also, we didn't see a fridge where he was making it but it could be underneath around his leg area. I'm a little disappointed. From all the sushi documentary's I've watched, this is not how it's suppose to be. I regret ordering the Ngiri Mix again cause the fish was warm. Same like last time! I read other reviews where people have said the quality is going down. Even though, I am not a regular here, I can kinda tell that it is. My favorite are ngiri's and it doesn't beat Kura's ngiri's right now. Kru just give's bigger portions but the quality of Kura's is superb! Shiozake Salmon $26+ Springtime congee, furikake, truffled English peas, basil oil, and pickled radish. - DELICIOUS. Crispy salmon skin, tender and butter-y salmon, congee does have a springtime taste and is the perfect texture. Every ingredient complimented each other. Would love to squeeze a little lemon to cut out the fatty taste at the end. From our experience, all the specials have been a hit! Ibérico Kashira Kushiyaki $16+ Den miso tare, basil-mint pistou, grilled lemon - SO-SO. Pork was tender but was wayyy too salty. Kru's ambiance is dark, chill environment with lights shining down on where it matters like the food and selfie pics lol. It can get loud when it get's busy. Mos def chiq and aesthically pleasing. Every little detail from the ceiling to the floor, table setting, mural, bathroom, and even menus were all BEAUTIFUL! SPECIAL SHOUT OUT: To all the resto staff that helped us for both nights. You guys are amazing! Friendly, awesome smiles and knowledgeable. Thank you for your top notch hospitality. I tried their sukiyaki set, both wagyu and seafood. I wish they had given some instructions on the approach or order I should eat the sets of food. It was a little chaotic trying to figure out how I could submerge all the ingredients in the broth so they would cook evenly. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting. Since I tried both set, the wagyu sukiyaki broth became a little too sweet at the end. My favorite is definitely the seafood sukiyaki broth. Would I try these pricy sukiyaki again? Probably not. Would I go back to Azayaka again? 100%. This would not discourage me from going back there any amount.

Since that visit I have returned three different times, always bringing someone different to show off this excellent restaurant find located near 73rd and Stockton Blvd Engawa Fusion is such a special place-this restaurant is over 30 minutes from my house in Natomas in traffic ,yet that never stops me from trekking my way across Sacramento-I love this place that much. On this particular visit we started with 2 different sushi tacos-We had the tuna version and the salmon version-each priced at $11.00. Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. I've described this dish in the past as a dish I could eat every day of my life and would be a very happy person. The flavor and seasonings are flawless, the noodles are cooked perfectly, great chew-a very slurpable noodle for sure. I can easily see why this dish is such a popular item on their menu. This restaurant was given a spot on Yelps Top 100 Places to eat in 2025-nothing in this visit did a thing to show that honor wasn't well deserved. In closing-I don't know if I could recommend this spot any higher and I plan many future visits whenever I want to show people how amazing the culinary experience in Sacramento has truly become. 10/10 experience. PS-Parking could be a bit of a challenge as they share a lot with an auto shop but all of my visits I was able to secure a spot-I am sure you will as wel

Long review: I've had this place on my list of restaurants to try for a while now. I love Japanese food, and this establishment has great reviews, so I finally decided to give it a go for Father's Day. They didn't have many reservations open, but managed to fit us in for 1 pm. The parking lot was a bit small, so we ended up parking a couple of minutes down the street. We were greeted by a very friendly host, who graciously allowed me to bring in my $1 Jamba smoothie to the table (National Smoothie Day) and tossed the trash I was holding. The seats and table were clean and neatly set up. The menu was only two pages, which I prefer since it makes it easier for me to settle on something. We started with a BBQ albacore, which came at a nice medium cook with 6 decently sized pieces, and a heavy hand of micro cilantro (love veggies). My husband and I split a sesame chicken entree. The ratio of the deep fry to actual meat leaned toward the deep fry, but the flavor was there, and the side salad came with what I believe is an appropriate amount of dressing (I'm used to Japanese restaurants barely giving any dressing). The miso soup was standard and not too hot upon arrival. The Salmon Lovers roll my husband ordered was pretty good. I think it could've gone with a little less sauce since the crab mix, garlic sauce, and spicy mayo hit the same flavor profile, but the lemon zest really brought in some brightness to cut into the creamy ingredients. I was very happy with my Tsunami roll. It had the same lemony pop with the zest, came with a more modest amount of micro cilantro (wouldn't have minded the amount we got with our appetizer, though), and featured escolar (butterfish). I don't see this fish very often on menus, and its buttery texture against the crispy shrimp tempura was just amazing. Lastly, I felt the rolls were a great size. The ones we ordered were cut up into 12 pieces, so they seemed to last a while between the three of us. We left stuffed, and my dad loved the place. Also, it didn't burn too big of a hole in my wallet (~$130 for an appetizer, two entrees, and two rolls, after a 20% tip). Father's Day success!

We had some good rolls my favorite being the chubby Andy, the sushi nachos, and the hamachi appetizer. I know this is on the pricy end, but money well worth it to me.

It's the kind of place that quietly becomes your favorite before you've even finished your first dish. ‍ Service That Feels Like Home From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a warm, enthusiastic "Irrashaimase!" The hostess was exceptionally engaging--personable without being overbearing--and guided us through the sake menu like a seasoned sommelier of umami. Her thoughtful recommendations led us to a beautiful tasting journey featuring three types of sake: * A classic hot sake for comfort, * A crisp cold sake imported from Japan, and * A smooth and unexpected bottle from Vernon, CA (yes, Vernon--who knew?). Although the tall glasses were emblazoned with Orion Beer branding, we stuck to the sake. No regrets. What We Ate -- A Love Letter to Flavor Every dish was visually stunning and bursting with freshness. Here's what we devoured: * Truffle Hamachi Carpaccio: Thin slices of hamachi bathed in a rich truffle soy, topped with microgreens and salmon roe. Silky, aromatic, and sublime. * Shishito Peppers: Perfectly blistered and dusted with spice. A simple dish that delivered big on smoky flavor. * Sake Nigiri & Tobiko Gunkan: The sake (salmon) nigiri was melt-in-your-mouth fresh, and the tobiko gunkan had just the right briny pop. Clean, classic, perfect. * Negihama Roll: Yellowtail and scallion in delicate harmony--refreshing and elegant. * Spicy Tuna Roll: A fiery flavor bomb, dusted generously with shichimi. Spicy but well-balanced. * Jade Roll: Wrapped in seaweed salad and sesame, this one was fresh, crunchy, and full of herbaceous notes. A standout roll. * Cucumber Sunomono: A palate cleanser and a beautiful contrast to the richness of the fish. Light, crunchy, and seasoned just right with sesame. Ambiance Kumi Sushi's atmosphere is refined but intimate--dim lighting, soft jazz playing in the background, and warm wood tones throughout. It's got date-night vibes without trying too hard. Final Verdict Kumi Sushi is everything you want in a neighborhood sushi spot--just elevated. Thoughtful service, stunning presentation, fresh ingredients, and a sake list that deserves its own night. Whether you're a seasoned sushi snob or just looking for a delicious evening out, this place delivers. 11/10 would truffle hamachi myself into oblivion again. Highly recommended.
