Have you ever seen a hand roll like this dear readers??!!

Who knew how much fun and tasty hand rolls can be? We loved everything about this place from the atmosphere, service, menu selection, prices and of course the food. The rolls are creative, and so many to choose from. Lots of fish and less rice equals more flavor and taste. Don't be shy about asking for recommendations. The rolls are modest in size and price so plan to order three to four. The peppers are a must. Enjoy!

pork ramen - egg is perfection

This place is fantastic! And, we fed our family of 3 for about the same price we'd spend over at Kura Sushi if holding back a bit, and the quality of the fish and food is so much better here. The handrolls are simple, but very well made. They use a more premium nori and lightly toast it before wrapping the hand rolls, which gives a better and almost sweet flavor to the nori. The fish is very fresh and tasty. We enjoyed the bluefin tuna, ora king salmon, snow crab, yellowtail, and I forgot what else. My little daughter ate the pork ramen and I enjoyed that it didn't taste as salty as other places. They also brought out the ramen at a temperature my daughter could eat right away without waiting for it to cool (or worse, putting ice into the broth). I didn't even ask for this and I really appreciated it. The EGG, oh my goodness the egg was perfection. I recommend the fish taco trio if they have it!! I had the creamy salmon (OH YUM), bluefin tuna poke, and the yellowtail. They use a fried wonton as the shell. Different toppings depending on the fish you choose. The bluefin tuna was fantastic. Service was also amazing. Forgot to get the name of our server, but she was really great and friendly, super accommodating and knowledgeable about the restaurant and the menu. I almost don't want to rave about this place because when we went, they weren't too busy, so we were able to sprawl out over two tables (met with friends who have a little baby).

I've been to Kinjo Hand Roll Bar a few times, and in the past I've really enjoyed it, which is why I kept coming back. Unfortunately, my last couple of visits weren't the best. We brought friends who were visiting from out of town because we wanted to show them a good spot, but we ended up finding hair in multiple dishes. It was really disappointing and honestly pretty uncomfortable. We didn't make a big deal out of it since we didn't want to ruin the night for our guests, but it definitely affected the experience. The service was friendly and the atmosphere is nice, but consistency and cleanliness are really important, especially for a place serving raw fish. I'm hoping this was just an off day or two, because I used to really enjoy coming here, but it makes me hesitant to return.

I sat outside and had a very delicious lunch The sashimi was a fantastic start--I got the bluefin and salmon special. Both were incredibly fresh and melt-in-your-mouth delicious, especially with the thoughtful little condiments they came with. While both were amazing, the bluefin was my personal favorite. But the real star of the show? The A5 Wagyu hand roll. Seriously, this thing was next-level. Juicy, fatty, and just a perfect bite of heaven. If I had unlimited funds, I would have ordered about sixteen of these. I'm not a big fan of seaweed paper, but the Wagyu and rice alone were worth every penny. The gyoza were also a decent add-on--perfectly crispy with a savory filling, even though the sauce wasn't my favorite. To drink, I had the refreshing citrus canned cocktail, which paired perfectly with the meal. Beyond the incredible food, the service was truly fantastic. As someone who's not a regular sashimi eater, our server was so patient and helpful in guiding me through the menu. I can't recommend this place enough!

The handrolls here are amazing, perfectly seasoned, crunchy seaweed wrap, and creamy from the sauce they layer on the fish. I've been here for both dine in and take out. Dine in is for sure a tight spot, very small but it's cozy. Take out is still fresh, but the packaging of the hand roll is a bit confusing if you don't know how to work it lol. It can get pretty expensive here, around $9 for each hand roll, i paid $39 for 4 of them. Workers are great though! They make sure each hand roll is perfected and fresh and they include sauces and wasabi.

Really cool ambiance in this place and the staff were super kind. We sat at the bar and talked to the chef who recommended a few things which were great.

I was very excited to try this place, it has been on my list ever since it opened and I finally got the chance to go. I ordered the 5 handrolls for $47 along with the Uni Ikura handroll. Personally, I really liked all the handrolls but if I had to choose one, I would go with the Yellowtail. It was so refreshing and light. The place was pretty small but it still felt pretty cozy and didn't feel squeezed in. The highest praise goes to the service. Our waitress was absolutely lovely and considerate. She made sure we were doing fine and we bonded over our favorite handrolls. During the middle of our experience, it started pouring rain. She reassured us that it would be fine to sit in the restaurant until it let up which we appreciated so much. If only the parking situation was better, I would've loved to come back more often.

A delicious and fresh hand roll spot near downtown Sacramento! Came here for the first time on a casual Wednesday - so the restaurant wasn't terribly busy. We were seated right away and given some menus. I will say, there isn't a crazy amount of variety on the menu - so if you come here, you come here for the hand rolls. But what a great reason to come! The rolls are a bit pricy but the fish in them are SO fresh and delicious. There are a few bundle options that ease the price a little bit, but keep in mind there are no substitutions. We had also ordered some other things to supplement our hand rolls- takoyaki and the pork belly fries. Both were SO good. The takoyaki balls were quite large and had nice crunch on the outside with soft tako and filling on the inside. In other words, everything I would ever want in a takoyaki. The sauce on the pork belly fries was simply perfect and the pork belly itself was crispy. My only complaint is that the restaurant is so small that sounds and conversations from other tables are easy to hear and it can get a little noisy. Not the restaurant's fault, but at the time of my dining, there was one table that was particularly loud and their noise filled the whole restaurant. There were many times where it felt like I really needed to raise my voice to talk to the people at my table or I had to ask them to repeat what they said.

I frequent the bar Nextdoor tomato alley and the owner also co owns this place. I had told him that I wanted to try it out and today I finally did. Delicious food and felt like a healthy fresh option. The taco trio was filling, Fresh, and reasonably priced.

i got their 5 hand roll special. I loved the toro. the restaurant is small so it's an intimate experience with the chefs When I went there was 2 parties. Service is great. I like that this place waits until you're ready to eat your next roll so the seaweed doesn't go soggy.

Tiny but Mighty [Sacramento CA] My daughter introduced me to this restaurant located in Midtown Sac. Small and cozy inside with table and bar seating. We were greeted immediately and led to a table. The menus handed to us had a separate menu for bento lunch box option (M-F)... we came on a Saturday, then we were told that they now serve them every day. Daughter ordered the 3 Hand Roll set which came with Spicy Tuna, Salmon, and Yellowtail. She struggled a little bit eating the yellowtail because the shiso leaf at the bottom made it a little difficult to bite. I chose one of the bento boxes -- Salmon Teriyaki. The bento box was cute and perfect serving for me. Literally cute which included gyoza. Everything was good and delicious! So glad to try out this place. Customer service was great and our waitress was very friendly. Street parking only. Review #3725

Food: fresh fish, generous ratio of fish to sushi rice and more substantial than typical hand rolls Service: we ate at the sushi bar and the sushi chef was friendly, engaging, hand recommendations to offer. Ambiance: great neighborhood spot, small inside, industrial feel as all black interior.

Are there reservations or first come first serve?

Hello! Currently we only take reservations for our outside patio, which can accommodate larger parties. Inside is a bit small, so it is first come first serve with a wait list if necessary.

Can we bring our own beer?

This time they sat us where all the chefs were making the dishes, so I finally saw how they make ngiri. There is 1 guy who makes it and I didn't like how he would make the ngiris but was not served asap. He would make about 3 sets at a time or some thing like that. The time from when it's made and time where it's served is too long. That is why the fish is warm by the time it got to us. Also, we didn't see a fridge where he was making it but it could be underneath around his leg area. I'm a little disappointed. From all the sushi documentary's I've watched, this is not how it's suppose to be. I regret ordering the Ngiri Mix again cause the fish was warm. Same like last time! I read other reviews where people have said the quality is going down. Even though, I am not a regular here, I can kinda tell that it is. My favorite are ngiri's and it doesn't beat Kura's ngiri's right now. Kru just give's bigger portions but the quality of Kura's is superb! I tried their sukiyaki set, both wagyu and seafood. I wish they had given some instructions on the approach or order I should eat the sets of food. It was a little chaotic trying to figure out how I could submerge all the ingredients in the broth so they would cook evenly. The tempura is perfectly crispy, but the rice was a little brittle and got dried really fast. The texture was more like Vietnamese broken rice, and it caught me off guard because when I tried their sushi a while ago, they used very high-quality rice. As is typical with sukiyaki, the broth becomes very flavorful at the end, absorbing all the flavors from high-quality ingredients, but my udon got a little dry while waiting. Since I tried both set, the wagyu sukiyaki broth became a little too sweet at the end. My favorite is definitely the seafood sukiyaki broth. Would I try these pricy sukiyaki again? Probably not. Would I go back to Azayaka again? 100%. This would not discourage me from going back there any amount.

Now I could write a novel explaining the virtues of these culinary creations but I will keep it short-the tuna and the salmon tacos are such the perfect bite-well balanced-well seasoned-surprisingly heavy in the hand while being light to the taste-it's truly been my favorite new food item discovery of 2026. Next we went with the Stir-Fry Udon and this cost us $16.00. Long review: I've had this place on my list of restaurants to try for a while now. I love Japanese food, and this establishment has great reviews, so I finally decided to give it a go for Father's Day. They didn't have many reservations open, but managed to fit us in for 1 pm. The parking lot was a bit small, so we ended up parking a couple of minutes down the street. We were greeted by a very friendly host, who graciously allowed me to bring in my $1 Jamba smoothie to the table (National Smoothie Day) and tossed the trash I was holding. The seats and table were clean and neatly set up. The menu was only two pages, which I prefer since it makes it easier for me to settle on something. We started with a BBQ albacore, which came at a nice medium cook with 6 decently sized pieces, and a heavy hand of micro cilantro (love veggies). My husband and I split a sesame chicken entree. The ratio of the deep fry to actual meat leaned toward the deep fry, but the flavor was there, and the side salad came with what I believe is an appropriate amount of dressing (I'm used to Japanese restaurants barely giving any dressing). The miso soup was standard and not too hot upon arrival. The Salmon Lovers roll my husband ordered was pretty good. I think it could've gone with a little less sauce since the crab mix, garlic sauce, and spicy mayo hit the same flavor profile, but the lemon zest really brought in some brightness to cut into the creamy ingredients. I was very happy with my Tsunami roll. It had the same lemony pop with the zest, came with a more modest amount of micro cilantro (wouldn't have minded the amount we got with our appetizer, though), and featured escolar (butterfish). I don't see this fish very often on menus, and its buttery texture against the crispy shrimp tempura was just amazing. Lastly, I felt the rolls were a great size. The ones we ordered were cut up into 12 pieces, so they seemed to last a while between the three of us. We left stuffed, and my dad loved the place. Also, it didn't burn too big of a hole in my wallet (~$130 for an appetizer, two entrees, and two rolls, after a 20% tip). Father's Day success!
