    Bond and Torch
    Jen-Ann L.

The only thing I would knock a star off for is the price the quality ratio. The quality here is very good, but compared to other spots in downtown or elsewhere, it doesn't justify the high price point of nearly $20 a roll. We ordered to-go because I was craving "good" sushi and it was super satisfying. The staff are attentive and polite and my order was available and provided to me quickly. The interior of the restaurant is very clean and bright. I like that vibe compared to dark and modern sushi places. The rolls were awesome! We ordered the Bond and the Torch - both were awesome! Very well constructed, good balance of flavors, not too saucy, and good amount of ingredients. The fish quality was not the best ever, but definitely on the higher end.

    Truffle Salmon Carpaccio

Came here on a Thursday night with about eight friends. Since we arrived around 7:30 PM, the restaurant wasn't too busy, and our group was already seated when we got there. Our server, Maybel, was incredibly attentive and friendly--we were sad to learn it was her last day. We ordered a variety of dishes (honestly, I can't remember half their names), so I'll comment on the ones I do remember! We asked for the chef's special and mentioned that we typically enjoy salmon and lemon in our sushi, and he definitely had fun with it. Just a heads up: chef specials run about $25 per roll, but in my opinion, they're worth it. We also ordered the salmon truffle carpaccio, which was fantastic. The salmon was fresh and buttery, and the sauce complemented it perfectly. As for the special rolls, one came wrapped in soy paper with microgreens, salmon, lemon, and roe. The other had salmon, guacamole, and lemon. Both were delicious and came with more pieces than a standard roll. I wish I knew their names, but since they were chef creations, they didn't have any. Everything tasted fresh and paired amazingly well with our lemon drop sake bombs. Overall, I'd highly recommend this spot to friends and family.

Amazing Lunch Box Special and great ambiance. Always a treat to enjoy a meal here. Highly recommend.

Sushi Q roll was ok, good rice texture, not mushy rice. Could use more seasoning though, a little plain. The 9 piece chef's choice nigiri was beautiful and delicious! Loved it! He really took his time in slicing each piece perfectly! Great job! Clean, cool spot, easy parking. Server was friendly and talkative as we chatted about their 2020 grand opening fiasco. Glad they made it through that challenging time for everybody and are still holding strong, 5 years later!

I enjoyed my experience here very much. Service was attentive and quick. The food was well presented, high quality, and delicious. This might be my new go-to sushi spot. Let me just point out how impressive the scallop presentation was! Not only were the scallops super soft and tasty but the whole presentation and acoutremonde that it came with really made it amazing. I ordered a couple of rolls too. They were good sized and well made. I ordered the sushiQ roll and the Calvin roll. Both were good but I think i preferred the Calvin roll. I would highly recommend this place and will definitely be back.

Lunch box (bento box) with chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura
    Chris T.

My first time visiting Sushi Q for lunch, and the food was very good, and authentic. I had the Lunch Box (bento box) with chicken teriyaki and shrimp tempura for my two choices. The chicken teriyaki was delicious, charged perfectly and the sauce was rich and the right thickness for the best flavor. The shrimp tempura was nice and crunchy and a good size. The salad was generous and very fresh, and a nice scoop of rice. The roll in the picture was shared from my friend's box and not a part of my order, but to try, and that was good too. It took quite awhile before we got our meals but that could be because we were one of the first to arrive when they opened at 11:30 and there were several tables waiting for their orders already. It was worth the wait. The lunch was about $18 before tax and tip, but compared to other places I've tried, this is the best so far. The service was great as well!

This review is long overdue. We've been going to Sushi Q for over three years, and without fail, every single time we try sushi somewhere else -- even out of state or out of the country -- we always end up saying the same thing: "It doesn't compare to Sushi Q." The quality of the fish is consistently outstanding. Fresh, clean, and expertly prepared every single visit. Once you've had sushi here, it honestly ruins most other sushi places for you -- in the best way possible. The service is always kind and welcoming. When they're busy (which they often are for good reason), we happily wait because it's 100% worth the time and patience. There's never a rush, and you can tell they genuinely care about their customers and their craft. We will always support this business. Selfishly, we like to keep Sushi Q to ourselves -- but the truth is, there are so many people who don't actually know what good sushi is until they try Sushi Q. If you're on the fence or wondering if it's worth it, it absolutely is. Once you go here, you'll be comparing every other sushi place to it -- and most won't measure up :)

Happened to be on this side of town for a training, so, I decided to stop in. I walked and was greeted and seated right away. I ordered Unagi Nigiri, Crabby and Dragon rolls. Everything came out fast, fresh and delicious. It satisfied my craving, thanks so much!

It was really hard finding a Sushi restaurant open during lunchtime. So glad Sushi Q serves lunch. I noticed Asians eating lunch and Asians behind the Sushi Bar. IYKYK. We ordered 3 rolls, spicy edamame and a side of Veggie tempura. The Elk Grove Roll was really good, very generous pieces of Albacore on top of the rolls. The Uncle J Roll was amazing, our favorite roll! The Calvine Roll was really good too. All rolls had a perfect amount of rice, not too much, which I prefer. The Veggie tempura was yummy and plentiful. The Spicy Edamame was also good. Can't wait to revisit and try different items on the menu.

Sushi here is always great quality, and they have lots of unique flavor combinations! My favorites are the "Sushi Q" and "Calvine". The restaurant itself is really clean and organized, although it can be a bit small when it does get busy. Service was fine, our server took a minute to get to us, but it seemed like he was the only one on the floor, so he was working hard attending to his tables. Overall, sushi q is definitely the go-to place for a more affordable but delicious spot!

We LOVE this place! Drive from Elk Grove all the time. Service is always great. Nice clean place with great music. The food is always fresh & hot. They have fountain drinks. Their miso salad dressing is so good & you can buy it in two different sizes.

We usually hit this spot once a week. Food is always good and fresh. The modern sleek industrial decor and the gold accents are great. The staff are always friendly and inviting.

Top (chef's special hand roll - just regular tuna..) and bottom is spicy tuna
    Mikayla M.

Fresh fish, I would come back for nigiri or a sashimi plate or something but this place is pricey for sure. I was kind of bothered when I ordered a chef's special hand roll and they brought out regular tuna, because it just felt like I was overcharged for regular tuna with a special sauce when typically the chef's special would be a fish not on the regular menu.

No long wait, no chaos. Even better, I arrived before my friend, and they kindly let me sit at the table and wait for her comfortably. That level of hospitality immediately stood out. Now let's talk about the menu because they truly cater to everyone: * Plenty of vegetarian options * Chicken broth ramen for those who prefer it * Rich, flavorful pork broth ramen for traditional ramen lovers It's refreshing to see a ramen spot that offers variety without compromising on authenticity. And the broth... wow. That first spoonful of warm ramen broth feels like a hug. It's rich, deeply savory, and perfectly balanced not too salty, not too heavy. The kind of warmth that fills your soul and makes you slow down and savor every bite. You can taste the care and time that goes into it. The noodles were cooked perfectly springy, fresh, and satisfying and the toppings were generous and high quality. We also ordered the chicken pancakes, and they were such a pleasant surprise! We've been lucky once and it was nice. Usually we park down a row. Their hours from 11:30am -8 pm. We usually get there at 11:30am to beat the crowd. Today we arrived around 1pm and we just hit the take out frenzy time. I can't believe how many take out orders they had. They just kept coming. Someone even ordered their hot food tray. The people kept streaming in to pick up their orders. Actual in restaurant guest were down to 3 tables. There had to be around 8 to go orders during the time we were there. It could be due to the storms that were on and off all day. I can't blame people for not wanting to come out. At one time it was pouring buckets. Not just a drizzle or hard rain it was coming down like a garden hose was turned on high. To our happy surprise you can get their lunch special Bento Boxes on the weekend. That was a surprise as most places don't offer their lunch specials on the weekends. The lunch specials are offered from 11:30am-3;30pm. The Bento Box is $15.50 (4-11-26) served with rice, salad and sunomono for dine in only. You can pick any two from a long list of options and unlike some places the Salmon isn't an up charge. The Sesame Chicken is battered and fried and topped with the same teriyaki glaze that the chicken Teriyaki is topped with. I tried her Sesame Chicken and it was very good, but I prefer not eating fried foods. The other dish that I really like is the agedashi tofu. That's crispy battered tofu. So tasty. I'm glad we came here for lunch today. It was extremely tasty and just the right amount to fill our tummies and with enough food to take home for a snack later. If you haven't tried Banzai Sushi you should and come for the lunch special. It's the best deal around town.

We chose Koshi Eats completely on a whim, and wow, what a fantastic surprise! We arrived around 5:15 p.m. and were surprised to see only one other couple dining there. The restaurant was spotless, inviting, and had a calm atmosphere. As we looked through the menu, we were immediately impressed. It wasn't that the menu was huge, it was thoughtfully designed and made everything sound fresh, flavorful, and high quality. One thing that really stood out was the variety of noodle options. I loved being able to choose between thin straight noodles, thick wavy noodles, udon noodles, and spinach noodles. It's such a fun way to customize your meal and something I don't often see at ramen restaurants. The food absolutely exceeded our expectations. The presentation was beautiful, each bowl looked like it belonged in a food magazine, and we couldn't wait to dig in after taking numerous photos! The first bite had us looking at each other in disbelief. Every dish was bursting with flavor. The broth was rich, complex, and absolutely delicious. It was one of those meals where everyone at the table keeps commenting on how good the food is between bites. I ordered the Hellfire Ramen with tofu, my daughter had the Garlic Punch Ramen, and my mom ordered the Japanese-style dry bowl (similar to bibimbap). Every dish was outstanding. I honestly think I was making happy noises with every bite because everything tasted so good. The noodles were cooked to perfection, the flavors were incredible, and every component of the meal felt thoughtfully prepared. My daughter loved hers, my mom loved hers, and we spent the entire meal talking about how YUMMY everything was. What surprised me most was discovering afterward that some of the online reviews are relatively low. Had I read them beforehand, I might have chosen somewhere else, and that would have been a huge mistake. Our experience was exceptional from start to finish. This is a cute lithe restaurant. Simple. Upon arrival.... Pros 1) we got parking right away. 2) restaurant looked clean. Our table, chairs, plates, cups looked clean. We were the only one there at first. 3) waitress was very nice and smiling. I love warm welcomes. She seated us right away, gave us menus and brought water for us pretty quick. 4) water tasted good. No funky taste. 5) Mixed tempura, Miso soup, New York Steak teriyaki, Zig zag roll were all very good. 6) our waitress checked in on us and ensure we had water refill. I appreciate that. We all did. It was hot today. 7) bathroom was clean. 8) wall decors are cute. 9) there's music, but low enough that we could talk and hear each other, but loud enough that we can hear the music. Cons 1) none Conclusion We liked this little restaurant. We gotta try the soups next time we go there. We only encounter our waitress and she was very nice. Didn't get to talk to the sushi chef. Foods good, water good, restaurant clean, bathroom clean, plenty of parking. Menu have dessert, but we didn't get any. Was pretty full. Go try this place if you're in this area.

Karai Sushi has become my favorite restaurant to order from lately. However, last weekend there was…read morean issue with my order so I reached out to discuss the matter. I was referred to the owner Vinh who handled the situation with such care and understanding. He was extremely apologetic and offered to take care of the bill along with another generous offer. I was blown away by his generosity and consideration in wanting to make things right. I've always appreciated the fresh sushi, reasonable prices, & hospitality, but getting to interact with the owner and having that great of an experience really sealed the deal. Thank you again for excellent service. Please do yourself a favor and check out this wonderful restaurant. They will not disappoint! I typically order takeout but their dining room is very nice, clean and inviting. I would love to dine in next time.

I came in on a Monday around 11:40 am, was seated right away since I was the first customer, and my food came out in less than 10 minutes. The ambiance was simple with some greenery. The waitress was tentative and so kind. I believe her and the nice gentleman are the owners, I could be wrong. I ordered the sushi tacos - unagi, ebi, and sake. It was a major flavor explosion in my mouth and I can't wait to go back!! Thanks to TikTok, I had to try this. Trust me, you won't be disappointed!! Oh, I took the unagi to-go because I was so full but ai suggest you eat it right away because the shell will get soft. I still downed it though, so yummy!!

Cute little restaurant basically in its own little plaza (I believe there's an auto shop or some…read morekind of shop next to it). Limited parking space in the front, but there's some more spaces in the back. Friendly service. My friend got the strawberry matcha and it looked really good. We tried the: Sake (salmon) sushi taco, 7.5/10 Katsu Don, 9/10 Gyudon, 7/10 Flavors of the food were good and the house made chili oil was a nice touch as well. The gyudon was a bit on the dry and chewy side, but other than that, still enjoyed my visit.
