Chirashi (front) and Challenge Ramen - Crazy Hot (back)
Lana S.

Nice to see decent Japanese food near my place. I was craving raw fish and this place satisfied my craving. Got really full too. My friend loves spicy food and I saw some Korean(?) food there too. He said the challenge ramen tasted kind of like champong. Service was great and I loved how friendly the chef and servers were.

Teriyaki Chicken and Gyoza!

Banzai Sushi is my favorite spot in the Greenhaven area for teriyaki chicken. It's one of those places we keep going back to because it's just always solid. We usually order ahead of time, and the food is almost always ready right when they say it will be. That alone makes life easier when you're hungry and just want to grab your food and head home. The portions are great, the food is always fresh, and the teriyaki chicken never disappoints. It's one of those meals that hits the spot every time. Another big plus is that it's close to home, which makes it even harder to say no when we're deciding where to eat. Good food, good portions, and super convenient. Can't beat it.

After my last visit here, I wasn't sure if I'd return. I've been a fan of this place for years, but my last visit just wasn't good. I'm happy to say that this time, things have improved considerably. The quality of the fish is better. The rolls were improved. And, they have a wonderful new app for ordering takeout. - sesame chicken: this has always been a solid choice. Just nicely fried chicken with a yummy teriyaki sauce. - general roll: this has been a longtime favorite of mine. They went a little heavy on the teriyaki sauce, but it was great otherwise. - extreme roll: a good roll. But again with the teriyaki sauce. A bit too much of it. - cherry blossom roll: this was good. It could use a little more texture (no shrimp tempura nor cucumber) but still a tasty roll. But again with the teriyaki sauce. So, while I don't think the rolls are quite the same as they used to be, they're much better than my last meal here. I wish they didn't put so much teriyaki sauce on all the rolls that I ordered since it kinda overwhelmed the other flavors. In fact, I don't recall there being teriyaki sauce on so many of their rolls. In any case, I'm happy to say that Banzai is back on my list of sushi places.

Our neighborhood spot for sushi! This place has decent quality and a steady stream of business. The chefs here are always incredibly sweet and polite. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We love sitting at the bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The happy hour is pretty good here with varying tiers of prices for a lot of options. This place is good if you're wanting to satisfy that sushi craving and don't want to spend exorbitant amounts of money. I don't really have stand outs of things to order - just order what you know you'd like. The fried/tempura options are also pretty good too.

This has been our "Go To" sushi restaurant in Sacramento since we moved here 11 years ago. The various sushi dishes are always fresh and made with care. We go to sushi restaurants in other cities but we find Banzai to be superior for the quality. The party trays are a huge hit for a big get together. A crowd always appears when the platter shows up ! Tonkatsu don and spicy killer roll and kaiju madness roll.

I ordered some sushi and a main dish to go. I was quite happy with the food and the service. When I entered the restaurant, I was immediately greeted with a smile. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior was cozy and actually made me wish I had dined in instead.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered the spicy killer and the kaiju madness roll. They were both great but the spicy killer was slightly better. I'd definitely get that roll again. The fish was great quality too. I also ordered the tonkatsu Don. It was huge and very flavorful. The meat was juicy too. Overall, I'd definitely try this place again. Great food and great service.

Favorite sushi place in south sac. Prices are amazing. Sushi is always fresh. Kianna is the best waitress. Will always be back.

Kado Asian Fusion has been on my list to try for a while. I've been following them on social media…read moreand have read the reviews on Yelp and was so excited to finally try it out. The restaurant is super cute and has indoor and outdoor seating. The outdoor seating is covered and shaded which is perfect for warmer Sacramento months. They have a variety of menu items including a build your own bowl opton, tacos, nachos, sandwiches, loaded fries, musubi and an udon special. I ended up ordering the Umami Udon with special chicken as my protein ($13.50), a Build Your Own Bowl with fried rice, katsu chicken, the triple katsu sauce, and stir fried veggies with "The Works" ($16.50), and Musubi ($8.75). The staff was super friendly and helped me make some decisions for my order and recommended the umami udon special, which I'm so happy about. The food was made fresh and took a little bit, but was packed with care and was nice and hot. I took it home to enjoy and the food was still hot and the portion sizes were really generous. The Umami Udon was amazing, it had perfectly cooked udon noodles that had a great chew in a creamy teriyaki sauce with smokey bacon, mushrooms, onions and garlic. It was a great mix of sweet and savory and lived up to it's umami name. I would order this again and again, it was so good. The Build Your Own bowl was also delicious and I can see why the chicken katsu is a customer favorite. The veggies were fresh and the fried rice was really flavorful. The Spam Musubi had thick slices of spam with a nice marinade and came with sauces for dipping. I'll definitely be back again soon, and while I want to explore more of the menu the umami udon is happening again!

Kado Asian Fusion is located on Broadway and cater to the lunch/dinner crowds. They are open from 12-8pm every day except Sundays. The inside was clean and had a decent amount of tables. We ordered at the counter and then sat at a table while we waited for our food to go. They offer bowls, tacos, nachos, rolls and sandwiches! I don't always know what to order at new places - so I liked that they had signs for specials as well as "favorites." We ordered the Rice with Teriyaki Chicken, Oliver's Favorite which was Spam Musubi and Spam and Bacon Fried Rice and Mom and Dad's Forbidden Feast. Everything looked and tasted really good! Obviously, it would have been much better had we actually eaten in the restaurant, but still no complaints once we got it home. Spam Musubi is one of my favorite things to eat so I could have downed like 5 of them! Portions were huge too - they even have a 100 year old teriyaki recipe! Overall, I would definitely come back and try other items! Staff were also very friendly, personable and gave great recommendations! Check them out!

They even have a second dining room just past the kitchen. We came here for lunch after a really hot day checking out Sac Zoo. We always love Japanese food when needing low fat but high protein and moderate carb meals. The food was excellent, and with generous portions: 1. Plain Sunomono - Is nothing but plain. Sliced cold cucumbers in a sweet vinegary sauce served in a huge martini glass. Super refreshing on a hot day and excellent shareable appetizer. (5 stars) 2. Kid's teriyaki meal are designed for under-7 kids but could have easily fed a teen. Generous amount of moist, juicy chicken breast slices, cup of crunchy salad with Asian sesame creamy dressing, huge bowl of rice, and lots of tempura (2 shrimp, one brocolli, and a sweet potato). (5 stars) 3. Sushi Moriwase B was 10 pieces of chef-selected nigiri. Not bad - rice was well seasoned and soft, generally very fresh fish. I'm less a fan of imitation crab and was surprised to see tamago - but hey, protein is protein. (4 stars) 4. Some dishes were on the saltier however, such as the free miso soup and soba noodles - the large comb one with chicken, mushrooms, veggies, and a separate dipping sauce. Definitely recommend Akebono. I am thankful that they brought out the Soup and pickled cabbage first then the California roll before the bento box. Food- This is the reason we came here. My girlfriend loves their teriyaki and sesame chicken. She ordered the sesame chicken this time and I ordered the teriyaki chicken. We both ordered the Bento Boxes for $20.95 each. The Bento Box I got came with: Rice, Salad with miso dressing, mixed tempura (2 Shrimp, 1 broccoli, potato, 1 zucchini, and a huge pile of Teriyaki Chicken. My husband had some left over teriyaki chicken and really enjoyed it too. I took most of it home as there was way too much food for one person. I really enjoyed the tempura. The shrimp was really crispy and great texture. The zucchini was very juicy, the potato was creamy, and the broccoli was fun to eat. Price-I felt it was pretty pricey compared to the lunch special Bento Box we usually get at the other Japanese Restaurant we usually go to, but this is dinner and dinner is usually more expense. No wonder we usually go out to lunch instead.
