Stopped in here for lunch and it was my first visit to this restaurant. Upon entering you will see the restaurant is open and airy. Not too fancy but comfortable. I decided to order the Sushi Lunch and it was perfect. The option comes with either one roll or two and soup or salad. I decided to go with two rolls and salad and added the mushroom soup. My wife was craving sashimi tonight and I decided to stop by Sushi Queen on my way home. I have bookmarked Sushi Queen for a while now and their sushi looks delicious. Why 1 stars when I haven't even eat the foods? When I was ordering, I ask a male employee what do he recommend and was told the Fire Roll and it is Half Off. I decided to order 2 of them and some Sashimi for the wife. When I got home, I looked at the receipt and it was showing the Fire rolls were full price, So I decided to call and ask. The lady on the phone was polite and told me it was only from 5 pm to 7 pm and I placed my order at 7:16. Okay, I was told it was half off but not the time limit, but It is Okay and I didn't ask for refund. I then told her that the male employee who told me about the offer didn't told me it was only 5-7 pm and was expect an verbal apology and it didn't happened. The lady informed me again it is only from 5-7pm and you didn't placed your order in that time slot. Best sushi I've found for very reasonable prices. Quality seafood is usually much more expensive and I find that their hibachi is not only scrumptious, but is also EXTREMELY affordable. I love the staff, love the restaurant, love their support of local art, and if I could take home a bottle of that shrimp sauce I think I would be completely set. My first here I was very pleased! SQ has a very modern and stylish interior and was very clean. We got two rolls of vegetarian sushi, ginger salad, and hibachi chicken. We were very pleased with our simple orders. The only negative was that our food took a rather long time despite the restaurant being pretty empty. The second time I had SQ I ordered my food to go. We ordered hibachi chicken and tofu, spring rolls, the fantasy roll, and the chicken teriyaki roll. The chicken teriyaki roll was either 1) forgotten from the order and I had a large serving of the fantasy roll, or 2) stored along with the fantasy roll and covered in the same sauce and batter making them indistinguishable. My partner is allergic to shellfish, and I am pescatarian, but I fear that I ate chicken because the takeout box with sushi had no identifying qualities. In addition, my partners' hibachi had a fishy taste as if the chicken and tofu was cooked with seafood. If I went back to this newer location, I would dine in, order vegetarian sushi, and would be more adamant about sharing all dietary restrictions/preferences. read more

First time at Sushi Queen, and I had a lot of expectations. I had the Sexy Dragon, and boy was it Sexy! Each bit was delicious. I'm not a huge fan of raw fish, but this was beyond amazing, I could not taste the raw fish. As appetizers, I got Panko Chicken with Spicy Mayo. The Panko Chicken did not deserve the Spicy Mayo. Spicy Mayo has a distinct taste with a kick that just did not settle well with the Panko Chicken. I also got the Fresh Spring Rolls. Would not recommend getting it because I have had better Spring Rolls. Sure, it was different with the noodles being thinner, but it just did not taste the same as with the thicker noodles. The sauce that came with the Spring Rolls, I would not recommend dipping into it because it was too strong--tasted like Dish Soap, if I am being honest. Overall, I would definitely go back for the awesome rolls of sushi, great customer service, and artwork that definitely makes the place homie. read more

I was super excited to see we had a new sushi place near my job and my new house. I finally got a chance to try it out tonight. I got here just before 8pm. I waited at the front because the chalk board said wait to be seated. As I waited several servers just passed me by until a few minutes later someone finally can from the back to the hostess area. There were around 6 tables sat in the restaurant. I told her that I wanted to sit at the sushi bar. I sat down, and there were 3 sushi chefs behind it. She brought me my menu, got my drink order and left. I sat for a few minutes without 1 word from the sushi chefs. Which was in my opinion not great. People like to have them speak to them. I got my drink and proceeded to wait about 10 minutes until I flagged someone down to ask who's taking my order. I was told, oh one of the other servers and she walked away. A few minutes later someone finally came and I ordered a sushi roll, some sashimi and a side salad. I waited about 20 minutes and I still didn't get my salad. I asked the sushi chef, who by the way finally looked up, and that's when he handed me my food. My sashimi was not good. It wasn't cut correctly, it still had the weird top part that is think and like a blood line. My sushi roll was extremely hot. Something that should be listed on the menu in detail of how freakin hot it was. And my salad, well it was a cheap whiteish salad mix. All in all I'm super bummed my experience wasn't what I expected. Although the place looks great the food and service were not. I'll drive the extra miles and go to another place before I try this out again. The sushi chefs need to learn to interact with the sushi bar, and not give the excuse she forgot my salad because they were busy. They had 6 tables and the place holds over 18-20 tables. Eh. I figured I'd give this place a try because I'm still on the hunt for a go-to sushi place around here. Plain and simply, it's overpriced. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. The specialty roll I got (the sexy dragon) wasn't worth the near $13 I paid for it. Not nearly enough eel sauce (which, in the future, maybe consider putting the sauces on the side for to go orders) and far too much rice. Luckily, I checked the soy sauce situation before I left and saw they only included one. Who only uses one pack of soy sauce for an 8-piece roll?
