This is my family's go to for Sushi. The sushi is always great and fresh. The staff are great. When COVID hit, they moved to take-out, then after some restrictions lifted, they reopened dining room socially-distanced. I haven't been in the last few days since the Governor dropped inside occupancy from 25 to 10. A while back, I remember the feeling when they recognized us as we came in. This is my favorite local sushi and hibachi place. My husband and me frequent Sushi Queen once every 1-2 weeks. We always order takeout, which can be picked up at the bar. I've only had to wait one of my trips for about 15 minutes, but it was worth it. It is a clean, fresh environment. Our food is always cooked perfectly. The last time I ordered out, I really wanted lo mein. The gentleman on the phone stated they did not have it, but something similar. He listed the different types and options of their noodle selection, and I ended up with a steak noodle concoction. These were the best noodles I've had in a long time. A feast of sushi and noodles will cost you about $30. So worth it! read more

I'm very dissapointed :( I usually go to the original location in Concord and it's one of my favorite places in Charlotte. The new location looks great and it's nice there's so much more seating than the other one and is so much closer to my work so I was really looking forward to my lunch today. Sadly, it was not the same. I ordered a specialty roll (the veggie lover) that's $8.95 +$1 for soy paper and they made the wrong one, kind of similar ingredients but a cheaper and more basic roll, so for a $10 roll it felt like I was getting gypped. Plus, they only gave one packet of soy sauce for an 8 piece roll? I ordered a side of grilled tofu with teriyaki sauce and they didn't put the sauce on it, it was just soy sauce or something similar. The staff at original sushi queen definitely put more care and attention into their work. It wasn't busy and it took 20 minutes for my order to be ready so I don't understand how they missed on the details. My salad was fine, no real way to screw that up. So they missed on 2/3 and that's kind of sad, for $18 I should have enjoyed my lunch more. I would have given fewer stars but maybe this was a fluke; I'll give this location another chance... at some point. read more

Okay I give it a 2stars because of the customer service they have shitty attitudes like your bothering them. Now the price is very good for the food. I will give the food 4 stars cause you can't beat the price but that doesn't make up for the customer service. And order ahead of time please takes very long to give you your order. Yummy sushi, sweet staff, cool decor. I stopped in to grab some sushi to go. The young lady at the hostess bar took some time and helped me decide what to order because they have sooooooooo many yummy and unique options. I appreciated her doing that. At their Concord location I always got the "hot mamma" roll, so I wanted to try something new! I'm not one of those people who isn't capable of making a change! .....I ordered the "hot momma." (._.) ..it was delicious. They weren't skimpy on the fish which I appreciated. The roll was well seasoned and put together. My only gripe is that they packed my fiancé's deep fried roll with my fresh roll. I don't like the idea of my fresh roll getting warmed by the heat of a fried roll. Freaks me out. Serviceable sushi and Japanese at Sushi Queen, but it feels like they need a restaurant tuneup I like to give a new restaurant the benefit of the doubt, but these guys need to pick it up or they will lose people. The servers were nice, but they seemed a little "green" when we were ordering. I had to keep repeating what I wanted and eventually moved to pointing at items on the menu to confirm. It was pretty empty and yet, our basic order for three took 25 minutes. While that's not long on a busy night, it seemed an eternity in an empty restaurant. There were literally only two other tables. They never brought me my soup. Argh. Overall, SQ is decent enough, but seemed a little rough around the edges, like a new restaurant with new staff. Decided to come here since another place was too full and I'm so glad we did!! We ordered quite a few different items from the menu to try. We started with soups and the miso soup is by far the BEST I've ever had hands down!! The mushroom soup is also very tasty. We then had the kani, seaweed and octopus salad. My only critique was that it was loaded with shredded cucumbers. It was more like a taste of salad And a bunch of cucumbers but nonetheless very good. We got the lunch special and 2 specialty rolls (one which was the special of the Day, $3 off). I love fresh ginger but I was kind of disappointed with the ginger they use. It's the fake perfumy one you'd find at a buffet, not a sushi restaurant with this quality sushi. We waited about 40 min for our food but it was worth the wait. Very fresh and tasty. Sushi queen is very good it's a place we have been many times. Tonight we dined in and wife wife ordered Pepsi with grenadine as she gets everywhere and gets it for free. Here they charge $7 per drink. When we questioned this we got a yeah we treat it as a Shirley Temple. When we told her she should have said something we got a yeah sorry. So $14 for .50 cents of grenadine is just not ok even with profit built in. It's a shame I'm going to write this place off now. This is my bf and I's favorite sushi restaurant. There used to be a location in concord, but they have since moved to the one location in Charlotte. We used to get the sushi platter and it was delicious. In my opinion it is the best sushi around. I would also like to mention our waitress Leora is always wonderful. She was at the concord location and when my bf and I went to visit the Charlotte location tonight she was there as well. I was so excited to see she transferred locations as her service is always impeccable. She is so kind and is always quick with getting our food and refills! The food was delicious, and we really enjoyed it! They have good low priced hibachi, and great sushi! The servers were nice, and kept our drinks full throughout our meal. It took a while to get our food, but they seemed to be short staffed, so we didn't mind. The art inside the resturaunt is really cool too, so there is a lot to look at to keep you from being bored while you wait. I'll be eating here again soon read more

I was REALLY disappointed. I ordered the hibachi chicken and shrimp and it's EXTREMELY overcooked, dry, and under seasoned. I would give this place 1 star, but the carrots and shrimp sauce are really good. That's the saving grace of this meal. I was really hoping to like it because of the reviews but it didn't. I also got the shrimp tempura sushi and that was disappointing as well. The cucumber was the best and strongest taste of it. Thankfully, I had shrimp sauce to make it taste decent. read more

My son and I ate here just after 12 on a Saturday afternoon. We enjoyed our food and experience. We waited about 1 minute for our seats and then we were promptly escorted to our seats and gave our drink orders. The decor is very nice. They have two lakefront minerals and various original art pieces on the wall. They played nice music and the atmosphere was inviting. The sushi was good. Although, I must admit that we are not sushi snobs. The prices are fair and I enjoyed the special..OMG roll. We will return. read more
