Honestly, we did not know what to expect before coming here. My husband said he would pass this place a lot on the way to the freeway. However, when we went in we were surprised at how many people were inside, the cool lounge looking booths, a plentitude of TVs on the wall and huge square footage of the restaurant. Perfect for date night to large parties! The manager was going around talking to patrons around the restaurant. We could tell he was invested in making this restaurant a success. All the servers were attentive and showed great customer service. I asked the server for the best rolls and she told me her top rolls in each each section. There was such a long and varied selection of rolls that it was hard to decide! I know I got the Santa Monica roll, the baked roll with Cajun spice (don't remember the name) and the fresh roll with mozzarella and Philadelphia cheese (don't remember the name). My husband ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen. The server was very honest with us that the Tonkotsu Ramen was better than the spicy ramen! So we are glad she advised us in the right direction. All the food was delicious and 3 rolls were more than enough for 2 of us, plus the ramen! My husband even tried a uni/quail egg shooter for the first time. Oysters were not in season at that time, otherwise, he would have went for that. He described it as an Asian version of a Bloody Mary. I tried it myself and it tasted savory sour but not bad! I landed at this hidden gem by accident. I had gone next door but that didn't work out lol. From the start they were very friendly and that never changed throughout my stay. Customer service is so important these days!!!! To my food, I wasn't super hungry so I mainly had appetizers from the HH menu. Everything was delicious!!!!!! For drinks I had hot sake and Asahi, always good!!! There was a gnat in my Sake. Clearly there after I had a couple shots but I'm still going to give them the benefit of the doubt on this ‍ For food I had the peppers and egg rolls. First off, no AYCE. Previously, this location did have that option when it was Zen, but not at R91. Don't let that discourage you from coming, it's still a good Japanese restaurant. I ordered the baked crawfish roll which was the equivalent to the Lobster Diablo roll. It was my favorite and still good. They have a good selection of Vegan sushi roll which I truly appreciate! The place looks rejuvenated with more light coming into the restaurant. The windows that were blacked are now clear for the sun to come thru and all the visible storage have been cleared out. The service is still great, different energy, but still welcoming. Some employees from Zen are still there. The drinks kept getting refilled and the servers were all so nice and checked up on us regularly. I don't know that I'll come back as often because I don't live in the area anymore. read more

Today was our 3rd time here! Of course there's going to be some things needing working out at the beginning of a new restaurant but it does not compromise the quality of the fish here!! Their Philadelphia roll is so good. Perfect portion without excessive rice. We have ordered the sashimi harmony plate, sashimi deluxe regular and nigiri sashimi combo! Their blue fin tuna is thick and so so good. Their quality again is SO GOOD. Service was good as well - the owner checked on us frequently as well as the servers. I've brought my neighbor here and she ordered some of the specialty rolls and agrees they are yummy! We normally drive to OC for AYCE sushi. This place does not offer AYCE but we get their sashimi platter options and 1 roll which ends up being the same price as AYCE with better quality fish in my opinion but sure if a whole bunch of appetizers is your thing AYCE may be a better option. Very disappointed with Ru91 sushi today, we order at least $100 a week of sushi from Ru 91. We asked for our usual requests but Matheos who said was a supervisor wanted to charge us for our extras, Bonita flakes, and oba leaves which we get every time and did not get this time. It used to be an ayce sushi place but it looks like it has new management. I really like their Mon- Thu Happy Hour deal. It is up to 60% for selected sushi rolls and items. Definitely worth checking it out! + Location is close by the 91 freeway and inside a plaza. There's no issue finding parking there. Also, the restaurant is pretty wide so great for groups! + Menu has diverse choices from sushi rolls with fish to vegetarian rolls, ramen, and teriyaki food options. +/- Affordable pricing with the happy hour menu. However, you will notice most rolls only have a couple of dollars discounted from the original. Prices for sushi rolls are usually around $10-20. + Fish to rice ratio was just right. I was able to enjoy the quality fish. My table got poke nachos (reminds me a bit of Yardhouse), samurai roll, Mexican roll, and fried baby octopus. The fried baby octopus was definitely crispy, but not tasty in my opinion because they didn't provide lemon to squeeze over it. + Service was very friendly and the owner was really nice. Found this restaurant on Google and we were excited to see a vegan menu. We went to eat there with a family member who had an egg allergy. Very nice staff but they could not confirm whether the vegan tempura batter had egg or not. Vegan food has no animal byproducts including eggs which is extremely important for those with egg allergies. If the restaurant cannot confirm whether menu items have egg or not then it should not be labeled as vegan. It may be more appropriate if it was labeled vegetarian. So disappointing when a restaurant does not know the definition of vegan. read more

We have been looking for a new sushi place in Corona and this one didn't disappoint. The fish was so fresh. We had the blue fin sashimi which was so clean and tender.
