We went to this sushi place and got our meal, which is okay, but a bit pricier than Sushi Yama which is right nearby. The bills came, and conveniently there was a 20% tip that was included on the bill for a party of three. There's only supposed to be included tips if there are six people or more, and even then it's only 18%. I asked them about this and they said that it's a glitch in his system they couldn't fix. Of course they could have fixed it if they wanted to, conveniently it was stuck on 20% tip, not 15 or 18%. Also, conveniently they never mentioned to us about the issue, including before they gave us the bill. This was utter nonsense and clearly they're trying to rip people off. This is also not a good atmosphere for most people. Although they're open late, they play gangsta' rap videos from the '90s, definitely not your typical sushi fare. read more

My husband and I were looking forward to trying this place but found it just okay. To start with the good: the happy hour special pricing was pretty great, and they did a LOT with the space to refurbish what was previously a rundown Boston Market. However, on the bad side: none of the hot apps we ordered actually arrived to our table hot, and the chicken fried rice was inedibly salty. What didn't help with the ambiance and nearly-empty restaurant was the older couple that got sat next to us with their yappy little dog that wouldn't stop barking the whole meal. This is my first time at Sushi Sake, they just opened and for a new restaurant I am very impressed. Juliana was our server and she was absolutely phenomenal. She was so sweet and double checked on questions we had if she wasn't sure. The quality of the food was great, my edamame was perfect, Jb roll was different but better than I've ever had and the angel roll was also super delicious. I will definitely be back ! We decided Sushi Sake would be the restaurant of choice for our monthly luncheon of our small group of 3. On the 4th or 5th visit, I veered from my usual lunch menu order of Shrimp to the Chicken Katsu. When my companions received their miso soup and I did not, I was told the Chiken Katsu did not come with miso soup. I said that was not clear due to the way the menu was laid out. The server KINDLY brought me a soup. GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE. When my Chicken Katsu arrived, it had 1/2 bowl of white rice instead of a full bowl of fried rice, 2 less than palm sized pieces of chicken, an ice cream scooper size of raw kale and shredded carrots and no side of vegetables as HIBACHI lunch specials had. The Chicken Katsu was $14 for almost half the amount of food as The HIBACHI choices, which included shrimp or scallops, for only $2 more. At the end of the meal, I told the server it was my first disappointment. He showed me the wording on the menu and in the SMALL LETTERS it said that HIBACHI specials came with Fried Rice And Vegetables. I agreed that the words were there but not laid out in a clear and noticeable manner. It seems somewhat deceptive. Our group agreed to try a different reastaurant next month. read more

Our first time ordering sushi from a different restaurant. We typically stay with the ones we like and rarely change. However, this restaurant is practically in our backyard. So in discussing sushi restaurants we decided to give them a try. We ended up taking out an order to go and were very pleased. We each ordered a California Eel Roll and a Salmon Skin Temaki, both were excellent. My husband picked up the order and mentioned to me, the restaurant had a nice ambiance. went for dinner and did not receive the service i was expecting from this place. a young man was my server and was not attentive at all. he forgot to put an order in to the kitchen which made me wait longer for food. waited 10 minutes after being sat to even order drinks. also waited until the end of the night to finally refill drinks...even people that were sat after us received all of their order before me. you can tell that the deserts come pre packaged and are not made fresh. when it was time to leave, the waiter left the table without even saying anything. overall, this place is below average and there are definitely better options for quality food and service in boca and south florida in general. don't waste your money or time coming here. read more

Honestly the food wasn't amazing, the yellowtail didn't taste fresh at all, the rolls were made from brown rice which I didn't ask for and the bill was 45$ for 2 rolls and 2 pieces of sashimi. They also charge 1$ for spicy mayo which is free everywhere. read more

Did not have a great experience here. We ordered dinner for a family of five ( 2 kids ) and the waiter forgot to order our kids food, adults were finished eating and we had to wait 20 more minutes for our 2 kids food to come out. Once it finally came out ( which was basically 4 chicken tenders and white rice ( $ 20 by the way ) the waiter only ordered one order and forgot again to order 2 orders since I have 2 kids. So we said forget it they will just share one meal since we didn't want to wait another 20 minutes. Waiter never comes around to clear the plates, fill water, etc. Sushi is sub par - equivalent to Publix sushi. Also - they add a mandatory 20 % gratuity for a party of 5 which is BS since the service was horrible. In summary - service is poor, manager never came around to check on us - waiter never offered to compensate for forgetting to place the food order correctly. What a wonderful experience it was going to Sushi Sake. It opened up about six months ago in Boca Raton, I just learned that it is a franchise of over 20 restaurants, and what a great addition it is. The one in Boca Raton is terrific and I plan on going back, as it has now become my "go to" restaurant for sushi in Boca Raton. It has an upscale interior, especially as compared to typical Japanese restaurants. The service was outstanding, and even more important the food was fabulous. The atmosphere, ambiance and decor are very nice. The food and drinks were delicious. We had two different sushi's ( volcano roll and dolphins roll). Both were freshly made and delicious.
