I was craving some sushi so I decided to pass by this specific Sushi Sake because it was by the area. The place was empty, not a soul. (literally, we were the only customers) We decided to take advantage of their Lunch Specials and ordered the Hibachi Chicken which was $10 and originally it's about $22. We also ordered the JB Roll. The food took awhile to come. We got the miso soup first that comes with the hibachi chicken meal and it was alright. Then came the JB roll. The sushi roll was really dry and lacked its cream cheese. I had to put some soy sauce which made it extremely better. We waited approximately 15 minutes for the food itself and was wondering what was taking so long. I remind you, we were the only customers there. The food finally came and we all started eating. The rice and chicken were yummy until my sister found a piece of hair tangled in her rice. Our waiter would take sporadically check on us. We told him about the hair and he was shocked. He grabbed the plate and kept staring at it in front of us for a good minute which made things really awkward. We finished eating and again, he left and didn't come back for another10 minutes to check up on us. Us being on a time crunch, we had to continuously call for his attention until my sister went up to him and asked for the check. AGAIN, another few minutes went by and he didn't come back to come get the check. My sister went up to give it to him and he was chilling in the back, on his phone. On the plus side, our server did talk to the manager and he gave us a 20% off of our check for the hair found on the rice which took off about $5 and some cents. I just want to say that the service was fairly bad for being the only customers there. I wish the server would've been more attentive towards us and would check up on us more rather than be on his phone or have loud conversations in the back where obviously he could be heard. Honestly i don't like getting people in trouble but the manager needs to get their staff in check asap. the waitress i was attended by seemed to be rushing our table while the dining room was empty.. not sure what the rush was about. we ordered a few appetizers and when they arrived, she was quick to ask if she could take our menus before even asking us if we wanted to order entrees or rolls....??? very strange. we weren't done with our rolls when she asked us if we wanted dessert. also, charged us for a beer that wasn't ever ordered (honest mistake if it wasn't for the rest of the issues) and had to be reminded of what we were missing constantly. she was nice and i tend to be very empathetic but this experience was just not the best. i used to come to this location all the time, but in the past two years i've been disappointed without fail every time i order pickup or i dine in by the food, the service, and the experience as a whole. worth noting of a manager sees this: the ginger sauce they were serving for the salad, was extremely watery and was not even close to enough for the amount of salad, the tomatoes were pale and the cucumber was so thinly sliced it was as if it wasn't even there. Beef tataki was so thick it would offend a real Japanese restaurant. The sushi was good, that gave them another star, but expensive for the portions. Love my sushi sake! Reminds me so much of Benihana or samurai. I would eat their fried rice every day, if I could. The sushi is also amazing. My favorite is the lunch specials. For $20 my husband and I had lunch and dinner, because the portions are huge. We also really love the fact that when you dine in they give you cotton candy for dessert, on the house! The only reason I can't give them more stars is because I find that it's a bit pricey in comparison to other sushi spots that are up to par with the sushi quality, but other than that, the food and the service is a 4-5 star for us. read more

Food came on time but they gave me the wrong roll. I order the fried rice with crab and a spicy tuna roll with avocado for my BF. Now my BF is allergic to shrimp. And guess what, the roll was not Tuna, it was Shrimp in which he bit into, chewed and swallowed. Looking at the roll myself, I said to him that it it did not look like Tuna, You know men sometimes...they don't pay attention to what they eat. Anyone he stopped and 10 minutes later he broke out in hives. I called the restaurant and immediately the woman answered the phone by saying "please hold" and placed me on hold. Called back, same girl did the same exact thing, before she could put me on hold, I screamed NO NO NO, you had me on hold for 5 mins. She responded dryly, "please hold a minute" and put me on again. Love their new location in Hammocks. It's so convenient, located next to my house. Their vegetable fried rice is amazing and special sauce is one of my favorites. We just went for lunch and ordered the fried cheese appetizer, tuna tataki, crunchy spicy tuna roll, vegetable fried rice, and edamame. Everything was delicious. Their ambiance is trendy but with no dress code. For dessert they always serve pink cotton candy. I just wish they had a location in South Miami, but I'm sure they will open one soon. Decided to hit up their happy hour this week mostly out of convenience, since it's basically walking distance from my house.. Not that I walked it, but still. Got there around 6 and it was emptier than Marlins stadium, but don't let that deter you. The appetizers were half-price and the vegetarian spring rolls were solid. The Miami Heat roll is the most Miami sushi roll I've ever had. It's what I imagine Los Perros creating if they decided to open a sushi place.. And I mean that in the best way possible. Beers were also half price, so a 12 oz. bottle of Kirin Light was $2.. Hard to beat. Only complaint is that Sake bombs are $7 and it only comes with one shot of Sake.. They should replicate the RA Sushi model and give LeBron-sized bottles of Kirin and bottles of Sake for that price. When Happy Hour isn't in effect, the prices can be a bit steep considering the location. Oh, and there were TVs playing 90s music videos in the bathroom. The food is yummy with the exception of yesterday that the roll I always get "Miami heat roll" tasted odd because the rice tasted like vinegar... So id like to preface this by saying i have worked in-the restaurant industry for 26 years and the reason i am giving two stars instead of one is because my only two visits have given me amazing stories to tell for years to come... Well two years ago i went to the have dinner with my wife and i left my phone on the table. I returned 10 min later and they said no phone had been returned. I was positive i had left it on the table so i asked to speak with a manager. She then spoke with the staff and ten minutes later they mysteriously found my phone in the bus station. My phone was now missing its case. I threatened to call the police and moments later the busboy gave the case to the manager claiming he was cleaning it. Well tonight we gave them a second chance and we were told to seat ourselves. Waited about 10 minutes and no server approached us. There were 4 tables in the operation and two servers. Finally my wife grabbed who we think was a busboy and asked for a server. He took our drink order. My wife ordered a hot tea and i asked for a miller lite. 5 minutes late he came and told me they were out of miller lite so i asked for a mich ultra. He came back said that they do not serve that and only serve what is on the menu. I asked what was on the menu and he opened it and read it to me as he did not know. I ordered a bud light and he returned and said they did not have that so i ordered a kirin light. I alerted him that it had been 20 minutes and my wife was still waiting on her hot tea. He brought the kirin light and it was room temperature. We waited 10 more minutes and then stood up waved goodbye to the staff and walked out. The staff saw us leave and carried on using their cell phones. We were there over 30 minutes and never spoke to a server. There was no manager present in the dining room. Giving this specific location 1 star is too much. i went there about a month ago and the service was absolutely terrible. The waiter didn't seem to be performing his best at his job. I ordered a miso soup and it came out cold. i complained about it which led to them brining me a new one which was hot but as i was drinking it i noticed a hair inside of the soup. At that point i was fed up. I went with 3 other people and all other orders got mixed up. I complained to the manager explaining on how i should not pay for neither my soup nor my sushi because of how bad the service was with so many inconveniences. The manager was super unprofessional and rude. i was explaining to him on how unsatisfied i was with my evening and he walked away from the table as i was talking to him. That's just the least amount of disrespect i received. He was very rude and explained to me on how i had to pay for my meal. To conclude before i left i had asked the waiter for the managers name.
