    Extremely disappointed customer
    Harry A.

Not a food complaint * Im extremely disappointed and feel completely disrespected. I've came to this sushi sake location numerous occasions and had plenty of good experiences. I walked in today and ordered the usual as I waited for a friend to arrive. They brought out my sushi which looked and tasted so freaking GOOD! I ate a few slices and I'm drinking my green tea and had to step out side for a quick second. I few seconds after walking out side the girl serving me ran outside chasing me yelling " EXCUSE ME!! Hello!?!? DID YOU FORGET TO PAY SOMETHING?!?!" Seriously?? There was no reason what so ever to make a scene on a customer even if you assumed that I was trying dine and dash. She could of called my attention professionally, but instead she profiled me and I feel embarrassed and really disappointed that this happen at one my fav sushi restaurant. My appetite was gone completely. I couldn't even finish eating my food. I literally just picked at 3 slices and sipped a little of my tea. And despite how upset I was I payed for the food I didn't every get to enjoy. Please address staff and conduct a better training. I'

If I could rate 0 stars I would. I ordered the special fried rice thinking I would be able to feed 4 people they gave me just about enough to feed my unborn baby brother I also baught two edamame and one gyoza and my order totaled $50!!!! FIFTY DOLLARS for three appetizers and a child sized portion of dry tasteless fried rice. Used my hand too use as a size reference. Never ordering here again.

Disappointed experience! No even 2 star . 3 orders of sushi $94 bill . No even a drink ... the taste wasn't that good ... nor a pro sushi taste ... I'm wondering why the excessive price in here ... the sever took forever to great the table . Only one server for the whole restaurant ... not e really good experience! Just be prepare!

Overpriced fried rice. $13 dollars for less than a pint of tasteless rice.

Overpriced mediocre food. I ordered 3 sushi rolls and the special fried rice. The rolls were average and there was nothing fresh/special about them. The fried rice was the biggest disappointment. They charge $13 dollars for a tiny little container of rice that was not even tasty. The size was less than a pint, which is extremely overpriced. Do NOT order from here. There are better options out there.

The starter omakase runs about $68. It was around seven courses plus dessert, and honestly, every dish pulled its weight. Bonus points to the server, who gave clear, thoughtful explanations. Menu-wise, don't expect a parade of rolls they're clearly nudging you toward the omakase experience. But if that's the goal, they're doing it right. All in all, a really enjoyable meal and one I'd happily circle back to, next time to explore more of the menu.

This spot is located in an unassuming shopping center where a Nicklaus building is, which is perfect for when you're in the mood to keep a low profile. It's a small, intimate restaurant with counter top seating and a few tables. From the moment we walked in, the folks chopped it up with us and made jokes, which is great because it broke the ice in a way that felt like you were amongst friends. Excellent service all around. We sat at one of the tables as we intended to do a lot of talking and didn't want to be noisy at the counter. We decided to take the recommendation of the staff and did the omakase express option and a sake sampler pairing with three different kinds. No notes here because everything was great, there were several "MMMM!" moments (wish I remembered what each bite was!) and the first sake we got (pictured) was fantastic. Would definitely buy it to have at home. Big shout out to Allie, who covered our table on her first day, was very cool and definitely helped steer the dinner in the right direction. If you're in the Doral area and in the mood for some quality Japanese, definitely stop by here!

I usually approach fusion restaurants with a healthy amount of skepticism. Too often, they feel…read morelike culinary speed dating, two cuisines forced together in the hope that chemistry magically appears. More often than not, one side dominates, the other disappears, and everybody loses. At Amazonia, a Japanese-Peruvian restaurant in Miami, that fear evaporates somewhere around the first bite. The opening argument came in the form of Gyoza Huancaína, pan-fried dumplings stuffed with lomo saltado and served with a vivid yellow huancaína sauce. It is the kind of dish that sounds gimmicky when described aloud. Then you eat it. The dumplings delivered deep savory notes from the beef, while the creamy sauce added brightness, spice, and richness. It felt less like a fusion experiment and more like a dish that had always existed. Four dumplings arrived on the plate. Four was not enough. My entrée, the Midori Risotto, continued the conversation between Japan and Peru. A strikingly green risotto made with kale and edamame arrived topped with grilled shrimp, microgreens, and dots of black garlic aioli. The rice was cooked properly, retaining a slight bite, while the edamame added texture and sweetness. The shrimp brought balance to the richness, and the black garlic aioli quietly tied everything together. It was a dish that managed to be both comforting and elegant. To drink, I ordered the Nikkei Lemonade, a blend of yuzu, Peruvian ginger, and huacatay. Bright, citrusy, and refreshing, it reset the palate after each bite and served as a reminder that the fusion extends beyond the food. My wife chose the braised short rib, a dish for diners who may not be ready to take the full leap into the restaurant's more adventurous offerings. Braised for 72 hours and served over mashed potatoes, it collapsed under the gentlest pressure from a fork. The beef was intensely flavorful, and the braising liquid was rich enough to make you consider asking for a spoon. Dessert brought one final East-meets-West moment. The Flan Nikkei paired a silky custard with miso caramel, whipped cream, and fresh strawberry. The miso added just enough savory depth to keep the sweetness from becoming predictable. It was a thoughtful ending to a meal built on thoughtful combinations. Amazonia succeeds because it understands something many fusion restaurants do not. Combining cuisines is not about piling flavors on top of one another. It is about finding where they naturally intersect. Here, Japanese precision and Peruvian boldness meet in the middle, and both emerge better for it. Fusion rarely wins me over, but Amazonia makes a compelling case for keeping an open mind.

Our server Claudia was so nice and helpful with explaining the different dishes. You also are treated to a complimentary mocktail and sweet yam bite to start. Claudia even provided us a tablet to see the pictures of the various dishes offered which helped us decide what to try. We started off with a mocktail that had coconut, passion fruit, hibiscus tea and pineapple. That drink was delicious and I didn't miss the alcohol. For starters we had the salmon crispy rice and that was so filling and delicious. Then we had the scallops in the black truffle sauce which was perfect a seared to perfection. We also ordered the kumogani roll which is crab based and that was very tasty with or without soy sauce. We loved everything we tried and will definitely go back to try other items on the menu. I highly recommend trying them out if you're in the area.

The smell when I first walked in was atrocious. It smelled like they cleaned everything with sanitizer water that had been sitting and reused for multiple days. WTF - I work at a sushi restaurant and this is insane. The appearance was great but the taste was horrible. I ordered the Hokkaido scallop roll and it was insanely fishy. There also was initiation crab inside (really bad quality one) that wasn't even mentioned on the menu to be apart of this roll. Not to mention the size of the rolls are giant and couldn't be eaten with one bite. Might as well be a burrito. Their "moshi moshi" roll was fine but again giant and the server said it was wrapped with seaweed as well as soy paper but that was not true. The wagyu roll was OK- but for $30 I am so upset. Over $100 for two people for lunch. Our server didn't even ask us how the food was. She was nice but she clearly didn't know what was in the rolls or ensure we enjoyed it. The lychee sake cocktail was undrinkable, it was too sweet but also too strong. How do you mess up a happy hour drink?? I called them and let them know I got food poisoning and they asked me if I was "allergic to anything" which is silly because I mentioned the extreme fishiness and mentioned I work with fish, the answer is no. He responded with "our food is super fresh", no the hell it isn't. Don't come here unless you want to waste your money. A million other sushi places I could go to for a better experience.
