I have travelled all over the country enjoying cuisine from countless different restaurants, none, and I mean NONE have had such an impact on me. Every person, from the Hostess (Monica) whom greeted us warmly and invited us in, the young man who kept our waters filled and removed our plates when we were finished (Ricardo), to our OUTSTANDING waiter (Nick) who took the absolute best care of us possible, ensuring our every need was satisfied in a professional and expedient manner, always with his can-do, charming personality, and the bread girl (I never caught her name but her kind disposition and the attention to her work were both welcome and appreciated), every person was on-deck, ready and willing to serve. We were never left wanting for anything. The Manager was also very kind and went out of his way to ensure we were happy. I told him in no uncertain terms, this was the highlight of my dining career, I've never been so completely delighted. Now for the unsung heroes... The cooks, chef, sous chef, and anyone else involved in the preparation of our meals. My God... They took a simple wild mushroom ravioli and made it into a a creamy, savory dish of perfectly prepared, just passed al dente pouches of phenomenal fungi, and the sauce, the creamy truffle, porcini mushroom sauce, it was perfection. As decorum required better manners, I admit, I did break the rules for this sauce. I sopped it up with some of their fresh garlic sourdough. It was heavenly. The next course was the filet. Medium rare of course, I'm not an animal. Normally I loathe bernaise, especially when it is atop a beautiful cut of properly prepared meat, but the pairing of these things. Everything on the plate goes together as if they were all different instruments in a symphony. The asparagus is firm and buttery, bits of crunch from the salt. The potatoes are thick and flavorful, garlic, butter, creamy, warm, small bits of potato amidst the mash. A bit of pickled onion (which I personally don't like normally, but again, it goes so well altogether, I couldn't remove it after trying the flavors combines). Finally, the large medallion of thick, tender, lightly charred, meat, a picture perfect slab of the finest filet I've ever had in my life. Lightly marbled throughout. No slab of fat, thin flavor-infusing deliciousness completely permeating the entire filet. There wasn't a spec left at the end of my meal. My partner sampled my meal and I hers as well. She had the Roxy Caesar and Sakura Pork Loin Chop. The Roxy Caesar was wonderful, fresh, delicious, personally I loved the parmesan toast that came with it most, very flavorful, an anchovy (bouquerones) garnishes the toast, the salad itself is refreshing romaine hearts, lemon zest, creamy Caesar dressing. The Sakura Pork Loin Chop is the apex of Pork Chops. I confused it at first sight for a Tomahawk Steak, the sheer size is palpable, it is lightly charred, covered in so many flavors, your palate will tingle after wafting the dish, try not to drool. The apple bacon jam was in itself a dessert. I'd like to spread this stuff on everything. My partner hates cruciferous vegetables, she devoured the brussel sprouts, hardly noticing that they were indeed what they are. There was no cabbage flavor, no bitter mess, butter and pure flavor-filled ecstasy. For dessert we both got the Sorbet, it was strawberry orange, and made fresh, topped with fresh berries and a singular, soft, delectable macron. If you've never had a fresh, professionally made macron, you are missing out. Soft, chewy, creamy, and yet a thin crisp shell layer on the outside. Tonight was truly memorable. I swear I've written a review for Roxy's long ago after having been here a hundred times. Do they get deleted after a certain amount of time? Who knows. All I really have to say is wow, so glad we decided to eat here for our after Christmas 2019 celebration dinner. We brought our own bottle of wine and and come to find out it's $25 for the corkage fee! Yikes. After debating whether or not to purchase one of their bottles of wine, order wine by the glass, or swallow the fee, I decided to talk with the Manager, Jeff. I let him know that we decided to eat at Roxy's because it had been a while and that I work for a wine bar in Reno where I purchased the wine we brought and asked if the fee could be lowered and he gladly waived it, since it was the holiday's and he's known my boss for quite a while. Score! What a nice guy, he was nothing but attentive the whole time, said he's worked there for 26 years. Our meals were absolutely delicious. As you can see in the photos, we had the filet and scallops. I'm not really a fan of them having a bread server, they can just leave a basket of bread for the table, it's a little awkward. I came here on 6/23/23. The lighting was so dim that it made me want to sleep. I understand how they're trying to set the ambiance, but the low light was squinting and tiring on the eyes. This steakhouse is fairly big as it also has a Roxy's sushi bar in front, and a Roxy's Lounge upstairs; I believe this is the reason why our service was a bit slow as the servers were probably handling a lot of tables. I ordered the filet Mignon and is was seasoned and cooked perfectly! Definitely one of the best filet Mignon ive had; because of that I would comment here everytime I'm in Reno. The bacon cheese bread was also a big winner! I was craving that for a full week after we dining here. The fully loaded baked potato is also a must as they cook the bacon toppings fresh/in-house. The creamed spinach was pretty good. The Mac n cheese was a bit mediocre and I'd prob pass on it next time. When we were finished with our meal the cleaning staff came to pick up our plates. In the blink of an eye, while we were busy ordering dessert, the one staff grabbed our Mac n cheese was 3/4ths full, a full basket of bacon cheese bread, and what ever was left of the mashed potatoes and creamed spinach without asking us if we wanted our food boxed; WHAT A WASTE OF FOOD and this is why they get this minus 1 star, for the table cleaning staff. A dear friend and I had the opportunity to have dinner at this iconic restaurant. We were promptly and politely seated by the hostess. Our server, Debra, was beyond amazing. Our food and drink - superior!! The manager Tayt was friendly, helpful, and took ownership of both the food and the staff. The one thing that keeps this from being a 5 star rating us the service we received (or rather didn't receive) from the bread server. This young woman was informed we needed more bread which never arrived. Our fabulous server reminded her of our request, which was met with a surly "here ya go" as she flung the basket on the table. We requested a discussion with manager via our server Debra. After speaking with the manager Tayt, we received a less than sincere apology from said bread server and received no less than 3 dirty looks as she continued to serve bread to other customers. We ordered the ribeye, New York and I ordered the prim rib, Mac and cheese and chocolate soufflé. From a distance I can see that everyone's steak were very thin and did not look appealing, sure enough no one enjoyed the taste of their steaks . My plate, the prime rib, was a mess. Our waiter, Nick, bus boy, Dane, and the bread girl, Angele, were all very friendly and attentive. We went there for an early Valentine's dinner. Still loving Roxy's! For a fabulous night out at the El Dorado Hotel/Casino - we had tickets for a Cirque du Soleil show. We started with drinks in the piano lounge of the Martini Bar. I loved my French 75. Then to an early dinner in the red room at Roxy's. The four of us were seated at a comfy booth with attentive service from Eric. We didn't realize it but if you go on Weds, Thurs or Sunday before 6:00pm, they include a salad and an ice cream sundae with your dinner. Husband and I shared the yellow tail appetizer - delicious! We enjoyed a martini which is very strong seven dollars for happy hour which is 430 to 630. Service was very slow because there is only one waitress on duty. Took a last minute trip to Reno for my birthday Saturday April 30. Had no reservations for dinner so my husband and I were just going to wait in line at the Brew Brothers. By chance my husband walked over to the Roxy and they had a table. Form the moment we walked in the service was 5 Stars. The hostess sat us down and wished me a happy birthday. A nice young adult came over and offered bread and butter options (cheeses/ bacon bread I am still craving). Our wonderful waiter Donald was attentive throughout the whole meal. The food was fantastic and the Maître D' even checked in on us. Everything was done in such a special way. Even the way coffee is delivered to the table. You know those long days that you just need a great meal and a strong drink at the end of, to celebrate surviving the day with your sanity intact? Of course you do - and during a recent one of mine, Roxy was there for me, and it was fabulous. Two of us were able to walk in for dinner around 7pm on a Tuesday with no reservation. Inside and out, Roxy is very old fashioned but in a way I found terribly charming. Piano music, white tablecloths, older clientele - you either dig it or you don't. All the servers were very friendly including the gent who seated us and told me about the 100+ martini menu from the bar next door that he could get for me, the server dedicated only to the bread basket, and of course our main server who took great care of us. The sourdough and bacon/cheese breads were both tasty and served warm with whipped butter (nothing breaks the fine dining heart like dragging rock hard cold butter across warm lovely bread). From that special martini menu, I started with the Midnight (vodka, Chambord & lemon) and ended with the Dakota Sour (kinda like a whiskey sour and a Manhattan smushed into one) - I would return just to work my way through that sprawling martini menu! My wedge salad hit that perfect steakhouse spot with blue cheese, bacon and tomatoes, and lots of fresh cracked pepper. My entrée looked better than it tasted - salmon with an Asian vibe, cooked well but a bit unmemorable. While certainly tasty, I wouldn't revisit. I stole a bite of the prime rib though, and it was savory and luscious. Roxy seems to be a place to stick with the classics. We ended with a cappuccino and the chocolate soufflé with Grand Marnier sauce, and both were lovely. The whole experience felt like quintessential Reno luxury - special and decadent, but still a little wacky where you least expect it. Overall I had a great time, and would happily return! We just went to Roxy's for the first time in years! So excited, my 15 year old daughter loves soufflés and remembers going there years ago and has been infatuated with soufflés ever since. Overall it was a really good experience, really good but not great service and really good but not exceptional food. We had the salad, some cocktails, the Salmon, Filet, Truffle Mac, Creamed Spinach, and the Chocolate Soufflés. Truly the star of the show (besides the soufflés) was the salmon. Perfectly cooked and seasoned, would get that every time if I could. The Filet was fine, served with asparagus. The Truffle Mac was loved by all but the spinach was not anything I would get again. Food was good. That's the most important thing right? Bf made a reservation for 4 on Saturday Feb 13th for our valentines dinner with his brother n wife. We got to the place 15 minutes before our reservations and was not seated until closer to 7, when our reservations were for 6:30pm. They needed to wait for tables to clear. (This is expected because it's valentines weekend. I already didn't have high expectations of getting seated right away.) As we walked in, I noticed every girl getting a rose from the hosts. We did not get one. The server we got was very attentive but did not check in throughout the meal. I'll go into details later. You can see and read from previous reviews that this is pretty common here? We started with drinks and apps. We also put our food order in at the same time. The table we got was not that big so we had to work with what we got. They serve complimentary bread while we wait. We lucked out on our server in my opinion. She dropped the bread off right away and got our drinks. I noticed other tables didn't even have silverware or bread for at least 20 minutes. Our apps came out right away Spanish Platter - $18 (7/10) Comes with assorted cheeses, a small variety of meats(prosciutto, salami, chorizo), some nuts and bread. The meats were super dry. Flash Fried Calamari - $17 (10/10) Can't go wrong with calamari. It was a big portion! Shoestring fries - $6 (9/10) We shared as a table. They were not as crispy as I hoped. These were recommended by the server herself. Cedar Plank Verlasso Salmon - $38 (8/10) Crispy sesame rice, ginger and mirin glaze ( a bit heavy imo), mango relish and broccolini which I didn't see much of it. Salmon had a NICE crisp to it, but it was really drenched in ginger and mirin glaze, so it had to be accompanied by the rice in each bite. Didn't want to make a big deal of it, so I sat there eating it anyway. 7 oz is a small steak, but at least it was better than the rest of the things we had. Roxy Rib eye - $42 (6/10) 14 oz black garlic butter - duck fat yukon gold home fries. Waste of money and was cooked incorrectly. The rib eye was supposed to be medium well but came out WELL WELL DONE and was so dry. The garlic barely saved the darn thing. The yukon fries were basically the potatoes itself! Pass on this! Not the best, but what can you do at this point?! Later, we find out the server had served us the wrong rib eyes. My bf and his brother bought got rib eyes, but she served my bf the well done one and not the medium well one. Wild Mushroom - Truffle Mac n cheese - $11 (10/10) Fav! But also, I LOOOOVE mac n cheese. Bomb. The mushrooms were a nice touch to the mac. So why the 4 stars? Mix up in the steaks served. lack of checking in on the tables. Had to ask for water refills. We made reservations for Roxy's the night before for 7:30 to dine in on Saturday. There was a short line to check-in and when it was our turn, we were seated right away. It was my first time here. My friends have been to Roxy's and another friend had also recommended too. There were four adults and one toddler. We got to order a little bit of everything and got to try everything. We ordered the following: -New York Steak with creamed spinach and shoestring fries. -Lamb Chop -Mushroom ravioli -Escargot -Truffle mac and cheese -Salmon Desserts -Passion fruit soufflé -Apple tart Everything was amazing and with the correct seasoning and taste. There were two things that I didn't enjoy as much, which were the truffle mac and the escargot. The taste wasn't amazingly great and could be better. The highlights of both desserts were delicious. I also didn't like the creamed spinach as much because it was boiled spinach. I prefer it to be made more creamier. I highly recommend and the server also let you know ahead of time that the desserts do take 20 minutes to make. So by the time we finished our dinner, we enjoyed our dessert. Do go here if you're in Reno. We stayed at Silver Legacy, so it was very super convenient to walk downstairs to go eat. If you don't stay at Silver, at least the casino has free parking. read more

AMAZING.. it was our first time in Reno and we stayed at Silver Legacy. From day one everyone we talked to said "you have to eat at Roxy". We did, twice. The first time we sat in the lounge at the bar and had the pleasure of meeting Eric. He was amazing!! Catered to our every need. The food and drinks were so good we went back the next night. There were no seats at the bar but we sat at a table behind the bar, Eric recognized us and waited in us just like we were at the bar. I haven't had the pleasure of trying out the actual restaurant yet, so this review is just for the upper lounge portion. Roxy's Lounge is one of my absolute favorite places to go when my husband and I have a date night. There aren't many places I like to go sit and have a drink for a date night. But, Roxy always wins. The best part is that there is always live music (usually jazz) on the weekends and it's often piano and a saxophone before 10pm and then it becomes a mini night club. The earlier crowd is usually a little bit older in age and always pleasant - never rowdy haha. The lounge area has a few high top tables as well as some low ones - and you can almost always snag a seat without having to wait too long. There is a nice little dance floor next to the piano for couples to have a good time. The music is never too loud and the musicians are kind and funny. Service is always fast. The drink menu has definitely gotten a little smaller over the years, but still has an excellent variety. I always go for the martini menu and so far my favorite is the Pink Diamond, it's fruity and refreshing! I also gave the Summer Fling a try and it was also delicious! read more

We've had several great dinners at Roxy's, but last night was the best! Our server, Micah was spot on. He was the perfect server. Friendly and attentive with good suggestions. The food was perfect. The oyster rockfellers were the best we've ever had- and we went to the restaurant in NOLA where they were invented! The steaks were cooked perfectly and the sides; mashed potato and creamed spinach were delicious. Oh I almost forgot the wine which was well priced and a perfect pairing. My husband made reservations for my birthday at Roxy's. The Cons: - They don't give you bread on the table, but a girl comes around with a basket of bread. Again, finding her is a challenge. - The food was fine. I had fried oysters for my starter and he had a Caesars salad. Both were good, but nothing exceptional. My fried oysters had a little too much batter for my taste. Next time, I will stick to plain oysters on the half shell. -Most of the seats are tables. We were sitting behind the Sushi bar and in the middle of the walk way. Not at all an intimate dining experience. Pros- Our waiter was extremely polite and professional. - Our drinks came out in a timely manner. I had a Cosmo and he had two glasses of Merlot. - The busser was also polite and courteous. - I had the King Crab legs and he had the steak. The Crab legs were excellent and were nicely pre-cracked. All in all this was a nice dining experience, but nothing to write home about. For our next birthday/ anniversary we will be going to another venue. read more

Dear Management at Roxy, My husband and I had dinner at the Roxy last Saturday. We like the restaurant because the food is always excellent. Expect this time. My escargot were tasteless, no lemon no garlic. The main course was sliced beef with potatoes aux gratin and wild mushrooms. The meet was very chewy the potatoes cold and the mushrooms also. It cost $54.00 and for that amount I do expect something more eatable. I just wanted you to know that. We will be back and we will definitely order s.t. different. It just was a shame.
