When you pull up and the parking lot is empty should have been a sign to what was coming. I ordered thru Doordash - four Signature Rolls, once of them was the Volcano roll. When I put the order is it said 15 minutes. Which was great because I was 20 minutes away. However, every time I got closer the time kept pushing back. So I arrived as stated before. Come in side and its empty in there. So the guy tells me its not ready. Three grown ass men behind the counter and it looks like their just screwing off instead of working. Finally one guy lights up a torch, yes a small torch and opens this tiny toaster oven where is appears my baked seafood for the top of the volcano was "baking". He then begins to torch the F*^& out of my food like he is welding something together. Finally this lady walks up with it all packed up. I get home, unpack and I could smell the burnt seafood topping. Not charred but burnt. The sauces they gave me were only good enough to work on 3 pieces of sushi and the est I had to go in my fridge for soy sauce. Was it worth $50 - Heck no!! My wife and I stumbled on this place about a month ago and we have been there about 5 or 6 times since. We LOVE this place. The sushi is fresh. The presentation is beautiful. Very cozy inside. We love to sit at the sushi bar and bs with Ken and Lee... We call them KenLee . I can honestly say there is nothing that we have tried that we didn't like. I recommend the "monkey brains" as an appetizers. Hint: it's BYOB so if you want to drink, bring what you like. If you bring saki, they will gladly warm it up for you. I don't know how it's taken me so long to write a review here honestly. A group of friends and I go for a weekly sushi lunch here, and have on and off for over a year. When it comes to price and quality, you can't really be beat. Yes, it's not the best sushi or most exciting rolls, but it's consistently good and about $10 for unlimited is music to our college student ears. They've gotten busier and busier since we started doing this lunch, but somehow they manage to always accomodate our unweildy group. The old lady who seems to be the owner or manager may seem harried but she was nice enough to once thank us for always coming in. The unlimited lunch menu has been slowly expanding the last year, with a few new additions of rolls, as well as more sides included in the unlimited price. Definitely get the tempura calimari and veggies, both yummy, as well as a filling fried rice side. All rolls are pretty much the same level of goodness, fried rolls are highlights and stay away from the Love roll as it usually has some sketchy mystery fish in it. Enjoy! read more

I always scoff and ignore reviews based solely on service, but when it has been as bad as I have experienced at this place (twice) I felt the need to write a review. I have gone here twice for lunch for the all you can eat sushi lunch. $9.99 for AYCES? What a deal! And the rolls are pretty damn good, with plenty of variety. But............. The service has been so awful. The first time we went on a Friday and it was crowded but we got a table. There was one waiter running around frantically taking orders, he finally came over and took our order. After about 20 minutes he comes back and says that he lost our sheets and asks us to fill it out again. Now this is lunch during work so we don't have 2 hours, but OK...we fill it out again in hopes of actually getting our order. After another 15 minutes about half of our order is delivered. We eat our sushi and after waiting for a bit longer we realize the rest of our food is not coming. So we tell the server, he has no idea where the food is, asks us to fill out another card and he will rush it for us...so we go ahead and give it another shot because we only got about 5 rolls between the 4 of us in our first half order. Another 20 minutes later still no food, the waiter is lost, gives us excuse about how busy it is, so we just get checks and leave unhappily (with a stop at McDonald's on the way back because we were all still hungry). I wanted to like this place so bad I was willing to try it again. We went on a Tuesday, and we got there at 11:30, so we were there plenty early and on a non-crazy day. The restaurant still ended up being crowded but we got our order in before the place was full. Once again we only got about half of our order, told him about it, he has no idea what happened, filled another sheet, only got half of that order. Same story. It really is unacceptable. The waiter gave us the same excuses. Understood that it's busy but if it's going to be that bad they need some help for the poor guy or a new system so that things don't get so terribly messed up. Perhaps different sheets for hot and cold foods? Some sort of triage for completing orders? I'm sure it is a nightmare for the chefs but if they can't handle it they shouldn't offer it. I'm not expecting to get in and out of there in 20 minutes, but I feel like I should be able to get my fill in an hour and a half. It wouldn't be a problem if they were just capable of completing the orders that we hand them. Sadly because I'm a slave to AYCES, especially for this price, I'm probably willing to give it another shot. And reading everyone else's reviews it just sounds like I am getting terrible unlucky. Their rolls are actually really good, but the service has just been really bad. After that I will amend review accordingly. read more

We went for the $20 all you can eat sushi dinner. The server brings you a paper order sheet plus a picture menu describing the rolls that are included in the all you can eat menu. Well, this is when I should have left. It's basically all variations of the California roll. Nearly everything was "crab" (fake crab -sirimi), or shrimp. One roll had salmon. They also had the cream cheese rolls, which to me, is American food. Not Japanese. If you wanted Sashimi, it was extra. We ordered some rolls and even put down an order of 2 rolls for certain ones. The Server insisted that we had too much food and if we didn't finish eating everything, they will charge 60 cents per piece that we didn't eat. Ok, we listened to her. She was right. We didn't need another order because the rolls were mostly rice. And sticky rice is filling. We were full but not satisfied. I could have gotten better sushi for $20. read more

You get a free salad bar and fried banana dessert with your order which is nice because sushi doesn't always fill you up. They have student discounts on the all you can eat sushi as well! Very good lunch buffet. $10 is a steal. I think my total was like $10.89. I would easily pay a buck or two more for what they offer on the menu. Sure, they don't offer the fancy stuff like volcano and caterpillar rolls as part of the lunch buffet menu. But you do get a considerable number of the more common rolls, like the crab tempura roll and the California roll. The spicy pork and the spider rolls were great. I had a couple of their other rolls as well. And nothing tasted or smelled off. Now I was kinda surprised that they offered spider rolls as part of the lunch buffet menu, but not eel. While I would readily admit that the sushi here isn't anything spectacular, I've definitely had better.....the reason I still will give this place 5 stars is the value. $10 for an all-you-can-eat lunch? I find that very hard to beat, since you can get salad, soup, rice, teriyaki, tempura, and sushi. Sure, sometimes you're in the mood for excellent sushi and willing to pay top dollar for it, and if that is what you're looking for, this may not be your type of place. But if you want value, I'm not sure this can be beat. I've got a couple kids, and this is the perfect place for them. Sushi Shack is okay but not worth going to even if its all you can eat for 10.99. The sushi were just large chunks of rice paddies and they have limited options for the AYCE lunch menu. It is okay if you are really hungry and wouldn't want to spend a lot on sushi. The large amount of rice in the sushi just killed the sushi eating experience. I got a call after work about some all-you-can-eat sushi. That is all they had to say. At night the AYCE is $19.99, but the menu is at least twice as large as the $9.99 lunch menu. Between the 3 of us, we took care of 12 rolls, calamari, salad, and soup. While we were disgustingly and uncomfortably full, it was a fun one-time thing. They have sashimi for $1 or so more each if you got the AYCE. Sushi Shack is BYOB, so we brought a bottle of wine and some sake, and they gladly brought us ice and glasses for everything. Our service was very good. If you want to eat a gross amount of decent sushi for a great price, Sushi Shack is definitely worth a stop. read more

The place looks and seems nice going in but i was fooled. 10.99 buffet for lunch was sub par at best. Wasabi had no heat, ginger was dry, and the sushi itself might as well have been rice cakes. 75% rice and the rest was basically flovorless. And apparently every piece of sushi(rice patty) you dont eat will cost you 60 cents if you can't stomach it. Worst sushi experience I've ever had...been ranting about it for hours.
