Lots of seating and they had some really good music playing. I love the aesthetics of the inside. I did see reviews of the the rude lady. I'm pretty sure she served us, but I think she did a really well job and was polite. She attended to us very well, and provided great hospitality. We did the AYCE dinner for $25 before tax. I think it was a pretty solid deal and the food was really good. The only downside was that the yellowtail roll had a wrap that was a little mushy/chewy, but other than that, the rolls were bursting with flavor. Me and two friends got food poisoning tonight from this establishment m. We ordered at 4 and within 3 hours of eating we're all hurling and one has diarrhea. We called the store to let them know which items we believed were bad so they could check the stock and take it off the menu. Within a minute of being put on "hold" where we could hear them talking the hostess was told to tell us the food was fine and that they checked it, though they didn't. She then said the chef said everything was fine and they hadn't had any calls yet. She then proceeded to say we're having an allergic reaction. We've had these types of rolls before from other establishments with no issues. Now we are getting ready to head to urgent care for food poisoning as we're bloated, have thrown everything up including water. We came by to celebrate my birthday because we know the food is always fresh. We had such a nice time, I love eating places that have dim lighting because it's so much more relaxing. The service was wonderful as well, everyone is so considerate. We ended up going past the last call for the lunch special so we decided to take the third round to go. My 9 yr old and i love to try AYCE sushi places. This one cost 25$ for an adult for dinner and $12 for a kid 10 and under which is in line w other places like Tokyo One that we have tried. At sushi shack you get 3 rounds to order as much as you like which differs from others where u can get what u want buffet style. The service here was not very good. Took forever to get a waiter or waitress to come by each time to take our order, get a refill, took 2 times to ask for the check to get it. The food quality was also subpar. Not fresh tasting at all compared to even other AYCE sushi places. Of the ones we ordered (Hawaiian roll, Sunset roll, Rock n Roll, Shrimp Tempura roll, and just regular california roll) the Rock N Roll was my favorite but was just okay. The tuna on top of the hawaiian roll tasted less fresh that grocery store sushi. My son liked the sunset roll best but agreed it was not as good as the other places we've been to. This is a very reasonably priced sushi restaurant with a great all you can eat deal! I got full very fast but if you are hungry this is a great deal. The sushi was very fresh and tasty. Came here for AYCE for my daughters 10th birthday. It's a nice ambiance. The sushi was good, some of the rolls were ok but sashimi, miso soup were all fantastic. They are upfront about the rules for AYCE. Don't be wasteful, parties of 5+ have 18% gratuity automatically added. All the bad reviews made me sad for this place. I've been ordering from here for about 2 years, have dined in a few times, and have never had a bad experience. The same 2 ladies are basically always there and are always business-friendly. I have only recently discovered this hidden gem. The staff is awesome, wait staff and the sushi staff are super friendly and knowledgeable. I've had a few specialty rolls and some individual pieces and the portions are bigger and fresher than anything I've had in Plano. Update: came back after about two years. It seems the rolls are a bit different now. There's a lot more rice in each roll. It was hard to eat. Almost all the rolls are the same. The lunch variety was very tiny. Servers were decent even though they missed some of our orders in the beginning. I have a mix feeling now. I probably won't come back. This place had that "choose whatever you want from the list 3 times" We came here around dinner on a Wednesday night. I been pretty sad because my favorite place for AYCE sushi closed down and I haven't gone as much as I wanted to. We ordered 5 rolls first and each with a miso soup. My date also went and got some salad from the salad bar. It was okay. We then ordered 3 more rolls and ate it all up too. It was surprisingly super empty. I don't think a lot of folks know about this place. It is located out in a random area. Only thing that I can see them improving on is making the rolls much smaller. 6-8 pieces for a specific roll is too big. While the sushi here can not be described as amazing, I would say that the price point makes it a decent option for the AYCE option. They are a little too liberal with that eel sauce. However, when I asked for the next roll to not include it, they obliged and the taste was way better without it, but definitely plainer looking. Their tempura is not as cooked as I'd like it to be, but well battered. Their tempura shrimp is definitely above average. However, they only give 1 shrimp per assortment of mixed veggie tempuras at a time. My family didn't want that so we literally ordered a side of tempura shrimp so we wouldn't have to eat like 20 tempura veggies just to eat a bit of shrimp. I don't eat sashimi, but my family that does says the sashimi add on was very fresh and well worth the add-on price. The AYCE menu does not include other things, so the non-seafood eater in our party ordered a beef teriyaki. To be honest...that was a really bad dish. The meat was tough and chewy and the flavor was bland. The waitress was pretty nice and overall efficient. I feel like they upcharged us a little for something. We were trying to figure out how the price went to $200 for 4 AYCE, teriyaki, tempura, tea, and some sashimi, but no one wanted to quibble over $20-30. read more
