A huge fan of this restaurant! I was in the area for work and my friend who had been a few times before suggested we go. Sat at the sushi bar. Service from the sushi chefs was prompt. The food took a bit of time to come out, but they were swamped. Salmon sashimi was delish. The seared ono was my favorite! The regular ono and hamachi sushi were also very fresh. Good seaweed salad. The garlic edamame was drowning in some sort of thick syrupy sauce. I prefer my edamame to be a little more simple. Absolutely loved the staff who chatted with us and even shared some sake. Very quaint and clean location. Lucy was our waitress and treated us very kind. It was our first time there and she made us feel very comfortable. There was a ten minute wait but mr husband and I decided to sit at the bar. We redeemed our free sake for checking in on Yelp. It was pretty good. We ordered our first round (shrimp crunch roll and a fried calamari roll). As we waited, Chris (our Sushi chef) asked if we wanted anything while we waited. I always come here. Since Covid I just pick up I dont dine in. However, they always have my order ready right when I get there. Some issues are that it took a long time to be seated and no one acknowledged us for quite a while, it took a long time to get our food and there was only three other small families, the service is slow, and they automatically charge an 18% tip to your bill. My sushi was very poorly made and I ordered hot green tea and they gave me a tea bag and hot water. Then I was asked if I wanted more tea and they filled it just with hot water, no new tea bag to go with it! Waitress knew her menu and really friendly. 5 star on the ladies! Reason for three: Sushi was okay, I've tasted better. I ordered lobster baked roll which was pretty soggy so much so they fell apart in my chopsticks or it could have been the rolls were very small. Smaller than the standard. By the end I felt as I was eating rice and lobster with lots of sauce on it. I also order the deep fried tempura. Those were pretty good. Again a bit soft. I think the problem is they overkill the sauces. Lastly my appetizer. I had the fried oyster. Oh my! When I saw them they didn't look good, old oil was my first impression. I took a bite and all I tasted was oil and uncooked batter. Yuck. I tried to eat a second one by scraping the batter off and damping the oil but that didn't work. Couldn't eat those. Again phenomenal customer service. Waitress removed from my bill. So all in all. I would go back but would ask not so heavy on sauce. I think they deserve a second chance. We have been trying out sushi in the area and think we have found our new regular spot. The Sushi if good and the people are great. Always get great service sitting at the bar is a great time. All of the Chefs are very warm and welcoming. The manager and head chef is super nice. It is a family owned and operated spot which makes me like it even more. I may be spoiled because I've lived in Marina Del Rey, the LA area, and went to school in Orange Co where they have better access to fresh fish. I like Sushi Station however it definitely is not the freshest fish out there but it's decent. I LOVE their salads. The spicy tuna salad is huge-enough for two people. Their cut rolls are delicious, but I stay away from the fried ones people rave about. As to people complaining about the price and saying they'd rather go to AYCE, this is quality food for the price. At AYCE you get low quality as the price shows. It's a good place for a date night, but lots of families eat here too. read more

I was there for 10 minutes and heard him being rude to every customer before I decided to leave. Husband and I were looking for a new sushi spot as we just moved into the area. We walked in and was greeted and seated right away. It was Thursday night and wasn't too busy. They also give you complimentary miso soup which was delicious. We ordered volcano, crazy dragon, philly roll, baked mussels. Everything was exceptional! More fish and less rice on the rolls which I appreciate. I'm only giving the 4 stars as the food took longer than most sushi places. I had to ask for a new glass of soda as it was watered down from the wait but the waitress was extremely nice and had no problem replacing my drink. The food was definitely worth the extra wait. Our dinner also came with miso soup. The bill ended up being $60 for two people. I am saying this because we had more than enough food and it was QUALITY sushi. To me, I would rather have good fish than large quantities of it. Now that I have made that point let's move on to the amazing food. The chirashi bowl was so fresh. Every single piece of fish was amazing.My husband enjoyed every single serving of each type of fish and he normally sticks strictly to salmon. The creamy spicy tuna roll had the perfect flavor. The yellowtail delight and the salmon lover both had so much fish in it. I have never been somewhere where they aren't trying to salvage cost by filling a roll with spicy tuna or crab meat etc. Customer service was also good. The difference between a four star and five star sushi restaurant in this area is how the customers are treated. I feel like a VIP every time I go. Once, an older Asian lady (I assume owner or owner's wife) stopped by our table to offer an origami creation to my daughter. Another time, at the sushi bar, one of the chefs heard me talk to my daughter about wasabi and he brought over a fresh root to show her how they grind it, brought over the paddle with the shark skin and demonstrated it.
