They were okay. We went on a Saturday night, it was busy, the wait was not bad for our large party. We were lucky that we were able to sit around the fountain or in the chairs that were available, as it got busy there were A LOT of people standing. The hibachi chefs are great & know how to put in a show. They kept us engaged & entertained! Wait staff wasn't too bad, the only thing was we were around the hibachi table. A party of 14 so we had two chefs cooking our party's meal, totally understandable. But my chef started maybe 15-20 prior to the other side, maybe due to it being busy but the minute they cooked our last part of the meal they were handing out to go boxes & the bill not even 5 minutes later. The other side hadn't even had a chance to have their finished meals on their plate. Maybe not great for a large parties that want to enjoy it together. We felt very rushed. My mom & I are allergic to shrimp, we are grateful they prepared our meals in the kitchen. Ample servings, they are generous! Hibachi seating area was elbow to elbow, it was a little tight. I'm left handed, my sister in law was to my left & she is right handed. Cleanliness could be better. Fun birthday celebration with the drum as they bring out ice cream. 3.5 if I could give a half star, might give them another chance.

This was so fun! Recommend for a birthday or fun night out. The staff was fun and friendly and the service was excellent. The food was worth the price you're paying!

My 3 year old was thrilled! Our chef did an amazing job of judging when to get him involved and when to let him be shy.

Best hibachi ever. I've never been to a hibachi restaurant that was as full of laughter and charismatic chefs. Every single table was having so much fun and cheering on the other tables. The food was great, of course, but I was so impressed that my chef took special care to include my toddler! He rolled in cranky and starving-- and the staff made sure to get him some plain rice right when we sat down. The chef made him baby bites of steak and paid attention to the food he wanted-- seriously, it was amazing! I'm so glad we came here.

This is unacceptable for a sit down restaurant of this price point.

The food was good, the atmosphere was okay but not very clean. The service could be a little friendlier but otherwise it was ok

10/10 fun, filling hibachi vibes. Fried rice is very good and the various grilled meats. The chefs are playful and entertaining as well.

Long time::: I've been stopping through for 20+ years when…read morethe enthusiasm and food draws me. They have changed a bit over the years, all steel table grills now with bar chairs around. Settings for 8-20 with high chairs and groups settled together but somewhat by pairs or groupings. An hour wait line starts almost at opening and allows time to settle in the rather large (50?) bar area for appetizers, sushi rolls and a wide variety of drinks while waiting. (Without waiting for the tables, it has been suggested the bar with sushi, etc is available first come first serve as group seatings and bar/app service cycle through. *The spectacle is well done by the chef, bouncing and spinning food parts and knife work with visual panache. Basic core meal is veggies grilled in shifts, salad and soup, and the different meals are your selection by meat/fish type. Each person gets their selection and are served up when each item is cooked on the sequence. This gives continual feed, not accumulating to pile up a whole plate to eat later. Upcharge for fried rice, but good flavor and inclusions and about double the amount of the white steamed rice. *Emperors Plate has most everything, beef, shrimp, lobster, and the full round of veggies with soup and salad. Quite a good quantity. And a scoop of orange sherbet to finish. *Most meals have enough for some take home pack with bean sprouts, rice, some of the main. *Meals have enough for a couple small appetites to share, or a full meal with an extra plate will get the added soup, salad... with the servings split to smaller quantity for the extra plate. Seems that is done frequently, especially if appetizer or sushi rolls are added on from waiting time or startup at the table. Flavors: several sauces are provided as cooking and as dipping sauce, one garlic tamari(?), and a light ginger dip sauce. There are 2-4 flare up sessions on the grill as start of next portion starts to cook. This removes some of the moisture, gives a surface flavor and texture, as well as burns off the alcohol (brandy?) leaving a bit of caramelized flavor as retained on the grill that is cleared between courses. Thus a flare of fire, and a poof of steam. Seeing these at your own table as well as scattered around the room is impressive. ** Good flavor, good selections, great spectacle, always worth coming back and waiting time. Don't come before another event because this can easily be 2hr+ from arrival to exit, but you are there with the ones you brought for company in the first place. It's worth it. Japanese palace is a place that calls me back sporadically, not as costly as a core steakhouse, but lots more pomp and show. $$$ 20-50pp, additional depending on selections, drinks and apps...

If you've been wanting to try this place, I'd definitely recommend arriving early. Parking was probably the most challenging part of the visit. There was a rummage sale happening nearby, so the area was busier than usual. They do have a designated parking lot, but it's very small and fills up quickly. Most people will likely need to rely on street parking, which took a little patience that day. The restaurant itself is tiny, but that's part of the charm. There's a bar area that seats around 10 to 12 people and only a handful of tables. We were a party of three and were seated right away, but I could see larger groups having a harder time finding space together. The tables are also on the smaller side, so once the food starts arriving things can get a little crowded. That said, the food completely lived up to the hype. Everything we ordered was delicious. The chicken karaage was crispy and flavorful, the marinated ribeye was tender and packed with flavor, and my favorite dish of the night was easily the beef yakisoba. We each ordered a starter, three skewers, and a side that our server recommended, and every plate disappeared quickly. The atmosphere felt lively and busy, with Japanese figurines and decorations displayed throughout the restaurant. I overheard another guest mention that it reminded them of places they had visited in Japan, which made me appreciate the attention to detail even more. One thing to note - we were told they don't split bills, which wasn't a problem for our group, but it's something to know ahead of time if you're dining with friends.

With a lemon sour in…read moremy hand, the grill flaring up in my face, and the sound of friendly conversation all around, I felt truly nostalgic for that hour and was not broken out of my delusion by the reasonable prices. The two downsides I experienced were the bar chairs and the chicken karaage. The chicken was dry on the outside without any sort of battering, which I had not experienced outside of diet naked tenders and certainly not anywhere I ate in Japan, but the quality of the chicken itself was good and highly juicy to the point where I burned myself on my first bite with a geyser of hot water. The bar seating was a nice touch but I found myself constantly sliding back in my chair and very low to the table. The sheer number of chairs packed into the bar was also authentic, as brushing elbows does indeed happen a lot in little shops like this, even if we are not used to it here. The yaki onigiri was absolutely amazing, crunchy and sweet, and the yakisoba was delicious with the rather interesting addition of mayo on the side. I wasn't sure I'd like it but it worked well. All in all, I'd definitely come by again to scratch the itch to not drop a grand on a trip lol

The food was every bit as good as I remembered, and the service remains outstanding. It's easy to see why this place stays busy. A few helpful notes: There's plenty of parking. They close after lunch and reopen for dinner, so check their hours before heading over. To-go orders are also available. This did not affect the quality of the food as it was very pleasing to look at as well eat. My partner and I began our meal with the karaage. At first glance they looked like fried chicken bites ,but were actually very tender and soft to chew on. The sauce with it was also very good to pair with the chicken. The ramens were packed with the flavor. Our choices were the to tonkotsu and spicy miso. The tonkotsu was super flavorful and I loved the bits off corn and I added minced pork for extra texture in the soup which was a great choice I would do again. The noodles were thinner than other ramens I have tried but still were very yummy and cooked well. The miso was a thicker soup with thicker noodles and the spiciness wasn't overwhelming. Both bowls were very full and we had left overs to save for later. Overall I enjoyed everything about the restaurant and I would recommend others to come and try it. I will definitely be back.
