    Chicken katsu bento box
    Michele Elizabeth S.

Service was quick, ambiance is pretty typical of a sushi restaurant, food was delicious .. I ordered the chicken katsu bento box but they have an extensive sushi and hibachi menu and all you can eat sushi for approx. 28 dollars the lady said. I'd come back when in the area. Seems like a local favorite.

Picked up two filet mignon rolls and they were excellent. Quick service from the staff on picking up. Very calm and upbeat restaurant with bright colors even when doing a quick pick up.

Specially roll and spicy tuna roll

I came here a few times before and had a pleasant experience. This will be my LAST time. The "all you can eat" sushi came with some "extra protein" there were flies flying all over and in our sushi. That aside the amount of rice on the rolls especially the spicy tuna and specialty rolls was ridiculous and obnoxious. The specialty roll that was pink did not have any fish either like the description said! There was no warning about the excessive rice either they mislead you by saying "6 pieces" and give this giant roll of just rice and not just a regular serving. This place is a scam I will never go back.Avoid this place like the plague. If I could this place a negative review I would

Love this place, love the way how cooked and prepared rolls, shrimp tempura, special's rolls. Very good place to stop by or order for take-out.

    All you can eat sushi

Not the best sushi I've had but for all you can eat , it was definitely good! Service was a bit slow and portions average, but with all you can eat , that's almost better. Would rather order a little bit of each! Overall would recommend!

Awesome food, service and its byob. Pricing was great and place was very clean. We were seated very quickly and we were constantly attended and the food came out very quickly. No complains and I highly recommend.

Salmon and Avocado roll , Spicy Tuna roll, Spicy Salmon roll and Eel Avocados roll

The absolute worse service but that is nothing new but the worst part was the waitress gave us attitude. The food never came and when we asked about the waitress kept telling us it's busy. Kani salad doesn't take 30 mins to make. The quality of the food has definitely gone down. I don't remember this place giving this much rice in your sushi. It almost felt like I was eating supermarket sushi.

I'm aware they're open for takeout, but does anyone know when they will re-open for indoor dining since in NJ restaurants can do indoor?

They are still not open for indoor. Keep checking their website they stay up to date with it.

Next came a Tuna and Avocado salad the server recommended. The Yuzu dressing was fresh and citrusy. It was definitely enough for two to share. The sushi here was amazing. It was so fresh and delicious. We shared a Sashimi Deluxe which included 18 thick pieces of sashimi including 3 pieces of Amberjack fish and beautiful, deep red Tuna with a daily special called the Triple Blue Fin Tuna Roll. The Blue Fin Tuna roll was mainly fish and delish. The servers were great. They normally have just 2 seatings a night at 6pm and 8pm, but when we called and asked for a 7pm reservation they were very accommodating. This feels like a neighborhood restaurant with big city quality. The ambiance was just right for a low key Thursday night dinner. We will definitely be back and will bring friends.

The lemon salmon with mushrooms was not only delicious but also an enormous portion. The roasted duck confit with green beans and mushroom risotto was another highlight--risotto is rarely nailed, but this one was perfectly balanced and spot on. The only downside was that the duck could've used a touch more salt and arrived less hot than expected. As usual, I ordered the smoked duck appetizer, which is always beautifully presented in a smoke-filled dome. Unlike my entree which wasn't hot enough, I wish it had been served colder this time- it was a bit too warm. The miso soup and seaweed salad are always solid, but I actually prefer the spicy versions of both. They add more flavor without being overwhelmingly spicy. Desserts are delicious, the sesame ice cream that comes with the bread pudding and cheesecake is some of my favorite- I wish I could buy a pint of it to bring home. Big fan of Wasai, both their French and Japanese, but it's just missing that 5th star for me.

The short rib is consistently tender and flavorful, and the six-minute egg is perfectly soft with just the right amount of richness. The service is always great, and the food comes out quickly--there's never a long wait, which makes the experience even better. The ambiance has a hip, modern Asian flair that adds to the vibe and makes it a fun place to dine. Consistently excellent food, great service, and a cool atmosphere. I'll definitely be back--again and again.

Ani Ramen House's Cranford location is on the corner of Walnut and Chestnut on the ground floor of…read morethe apartments at The Albero. The main entrance is next to the kitchen, which is designed for food delivery and takeout operations. The L-shaped dining room wraps around the kitchen and offers an impressive amount of seating for 80 people with ample natural lighting. The interior decor follows the same rigid industrial wood and metal aesthetic that almost every new hipstery restaurant chain has subscribed to for the past decade. In case you've forgotten that ramen is Japanese, you'll also see neon signs on the walls illuminating some common Japanese phrases (although without furigana). Two gendered restrooms are located left of the kitchen in the far corner of the building and each have two stalls and one sink. I ordered the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen with a side of Chili Charred Brussels for takeout. I placed the order 30 minutes in advance and it was ready at the scheduled pickup time. The Chili Charred Brussels were about five halved sprouts that were steamed and lightly sauteed with a light sprinkling of mustard greens and pepper flakes. I actually enjoyed these more than the ramen I ordered, but they did not have much noticeable charring (or the caramelization that comes with charring). I had a very difficult time enjoying the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen, which is the first item on the ramen menu. The dry ingredients are packaged in the main serving bowl and the broth in a separate plastic takeout container for you to combine yourself. The main attraction of the Tokyo Shoyu Ramen is the three massive slabs of braised pork, which did not disappoint. I tried some of dry ingredients first before drowning them in liquid, although I could not find any bean sprouts. The noodles were slightly undercooked, possibly to compensate for the hot broth. Everything kind of went downhill after I added the shoyu broth. Although the shoyu did impart flavor to the meat and ramen, it was so overwhelmingly salty that it was completely undrinkable by itself. After finishing the noodles, I felt like I was sipping boiled dipping sauce. If chicken broth was in the mix, I certainly couldn't taste it. This is particularly concerning because half of the ramen menu contains this same shoyu tare, and will most likely be too overpowering for most people. In retrospect, I should have ordered the brothless mazemen ramen. The food preparation, while adequate, seemed a bit rushed based on what I ate. Perhaps 30 minutes was not enough lead time for the kitchen, or perhaps this is just how Ani Ramen makes its food. While I appreciate that Ani has helped make ramen more accessible in Central Jersey, it's probably not my first choice for ramen or any of the eclectic side dishes on the menu, e.g. brussels sprouts, kimchi, and gua bao (none of which are Japanese).
