Took the s/o's family out for a thank you dinner after a wonderful time hosting our Colorado trip, and was so glad that they recommended this place. Everyone ordered the all you can eat, which isn't bad for $25 (I've been to places that charged exactly this much, but 15 years ago). The portion sizes were reasonable for an all you can eat deal, enough to satisfy, but definitely small enough to where you're not forking over extra $ for unfinished food. The quality of the sushi was excellent - better than many places I have been to back home. We tried everything from the monkey brain, tuna nigiri, all types of cut roll, salmon teriyaki, miso soup, tempura, and a bunch of other stuff, and it was all how you'd expect high quality food to taste. They even had gluten free soy sauce for a member of our party. The service was also fantastic. Our servers were extremely kind, very friendly with just one delay out of several dozen orders, in which our server was apologetic. You get the sense of feeling welcomed and taken care of throughout the evening. Like all good establishments, they don't mess around with Covid. Everything was REALLY clean (there was the subtle smell of cleaner on the tables as we sat down, a huge plus in my book), and masks were worn where appropriate by customers / staff. Lastly, I nearly double tipped, but the server at the front who took the bill reminded me that gratuity was already included for our party. I really, really appreciated that! I love the store layout and decoration. The staff are all very friendly and they are all Japanese, which seem to be a good thing for a sushi place (and the Chefs are all really cute xD) I forgot my wallet there and later realize and the staff kept it for me with everything still intact, so great staff. All the non sushi food items food were delicious, but one noticeable thing is that their nigiri are so much smaller than other sushi place. It cute and bit size, but I feel like the favor isn't as good as other place I been, but it not horrible. The only thing I have problem with is that any nigiri with the word "spicy" in it name, their just put sriracha on it! and not actually use other spice. I think that the only downside, but definitely will comeback again, just will avoid the "spicy" stuff. AYCE sushi in our hood! So I have to compare to Sushi Katsu on Havana BC that's our go to for AYCE sushi... With that said it is a completely different atmosphere. S-Katsu is bustling (sometimes line out the door) and the atmosphere is almost entertaining with tables too close together, waitresses running around and sushi chefs hollering in Japanese/Spanish. This however is not that. Super quiet and laid back atmosphere with absolutely no wait to get in. Same price I believe for both places for lunch and dinner AYCE $15 for lunch and $25 for dinner. Same concept at both places where you order from what's on the paper menu and you have 3 pages of additional rolls to choose from on the regular menu. In have to say that S-Katsu has more app and side items than S-Totoro but the roll selection is pretty comparable. S-Totoro might actually have more selection of specialty rolls and they have a few with soft shell crab and I didn't remember that at S-Katsu. Nice wait staff, food was good, we are full and would come back because it's right down the street from our house. S-Katsu has the edge though because of the atmosphere and awesome service. Side note that was an initial turn off was the hostess had really bad halitosis... So bad that everyone at our table noticed it and we overheard another table talking about it. One word: Awesome. I literally ate the food here to fast to take pictures of it. When I come back again I will gain self control and have some pictures of this delicious food. It looked so good and tasted so incredible but... If you go in for the standard sushi fair you will probably be disappointed. My recommendation is to go for the all you can eat to get a sampling of everything that interests you. The Nuggets specialty roll was dope. It was like a drug that I literally couldn't get enough of. The fried jalapeños , mushroom balls, Futo rolls, and New York rolls were also delicious buy less addictive. They also have a decent drink selection here so try out the Karatamba dry saki they have. On the flip side, the place was pretty empty so I don't think it would be a great first date spot. This seems like a good spot to chill with friends, family, and just large groups in general. Some of the nigiri I had like the plain shrimp roll weren't great. The meat on them was dry like it had been sitting out on a counter all day. Keep in mind these terrible rolls consisted of 1/16th of my actual meal so it didn't affect the overall score much. Pro tip: Stick to the specialty rolls for flavor and sit near the bar. Food comes faster that way and those chiefs just might serve as your wingmen in a pitch. read more

This place is too cute. There are totoro paintings on the wall, totoro cartoon characters on the menu & chopsticks, and waiters wear totoro t-shirts. It's cute overload. Is that even legal? The place is modern, spacious and clean inside. It was much larger than I expected. It seems that they even have a private room area out back (which doesn't appear to be set up yet). They have an all you can eat lunch special for $15 (pretty freaking cheap!) & they charge $0.50 for excessive leftover foods. Waiters were really attentive. The female waitress was super friendly, cheerful and sweet. She made sure to seat customers in spots that avoided the glare from the window and she was very sweet when cautioning me to not touch the hot plate. The male waiter brought out a complimentary 4 piece fried sushi roll called monkey brains that had imitation crab and avocado. It was very good. I opted for the AYCE and got fried jalapenos, agedashi tofu, seafood dynamite and some spicy tuna sushi rolls. My least favorite dish was the seafood dynamite because I was not sure how to eat it. It seemed like a bunch of mayo sauce with some seafood in it and it seemed like it should be served on top of a roll or with rice or something. It was too overwhelmingly rich for me. I liked the jalapenos because they were too hot (both in temperature and spiciness). The agedashi tofu came with a citrus sauce (maybe ponzu?). Stopped in on a weekday around 5pm. We didn't have a problem finding a seat. Almost everyone in there was asian (always a good sign). We ordered off the regular menu. I can't eat a ton of food so "all you can eat" usually is not a benefit for me - this was a good decision because I had plenty of food! The monkey brain roll (not real brains or monkey) was delicious, courtesy of the house. I would order it next time. My Mom had a box, which came with soup and all the fixins, she loved the spare ribs. I ordered the spicy tuna sunset roll. It was good but I actually preferred the monkey brains. We also had a vege roll for one of her side dishes. It was really good, refreshing. The ginger salad was as expected and the ginger tasted fresh. They didn't have the onion soup, that was the only disappointment and the miso was eh, miso. The waitress was attentive and adorable the overall experience was it was relaxing. Pretty good nigiri and sashimi... the Monkey Brains were delicious. They have an all you can eat for $24.95, my only problem is I can't eat that much to make it worth my while. Sushi Totoro isn't fancy, but the sushi is relatively inexpensive for being "all-you-can-it" and it's pretty tasty. I'm especially fond of the rice ratio (they don't overdo it on the rice) and I've never had to wait for a table, even during the lunch or dinner "rush," making this my go-to place when I'm in the mood for rolls. I like to go for lunch because it's cheaper, but dinner is also good because their specialty rolls are included in the all-you-can-eat price. The service itself satisfactory. The waitstaff isn't particularly friendly, but they're not rude by any means. They've always done a good job of making sure we have plenty of food to eat. As a bonus, they've provided gluten-free tamari whenever I've asked for it. read more

I just found out this place existed and made it over here for lunch. The two chefs at the sushi bar were welcoming and friendly. I found out that one of them was the owner. He took the time to have a brief conversation with me and he said they opened a little over a year ago. I arrived shortly after they opened at 11:30. It was very clean and (mostly) quiet. There were maybe 3 other occupied tables. I really loved this! I had second thoughts about posting a positive review because I'd hate to see this place get packed. The only downfall of the atmosphere was a family in the back of the restaurant letting their toddler run around and yell. I like venturing out to eat during off peak hours to avoid this. I wish parents would control their crotch fruit in public. I was brought a very small amount of ginger and wasabi. The wasabi had an unusual somewhat creamy consistency and was watered down, however it still packed a punch, tasted fine and dissolved easily into the soy sauce. I just thought this was worth mentioning. I did ask for extra wasabi and ginger as I have a strong need for wasabi so powerful that it's a religious experience! The waitress was fantastic! Wasabi and ginger were brought to me promptly and she kept my water full without me having to ask. This is always something that makes a restaurant shine! The sushi was good. It wasn't spectacular, it didn't suck, but it was exactly what I'd expect from an all you can eat establishment. The sauce on the albacore nigiri was odd. I doubt I'll order that one again, otherwise, I enjoyed everything I tried. The only other con was the rice to nigiri ratio was too high. I understand that making a rule to clean your plate or you'll be charged and stuffing your customers with rice is how places like this make money, however, see the photo I posted of the piece of saba I ate. That was way too much rice. Overall, I really like this place. The only reasons they didn't get 5 stars were the odd sauce on the albacore and the unnecessarily large portions of rice on the nigiri. I got comfortably full for under $20 with tip, the staff was great and I had a nice lunch. I have been quite disappointed in another all you can eat sushi establishment in the area due to being uncomfortably overcrowded and some serious sanitary issues I have witnessed first hand. We are sushi snobs. We lived in the west coast for almost 10 years, where there was a fantastic sushi place on every corner. Sushi Totoro is every bit as good. Maybe a little pricier, since the ocean is much further away, but this restaurant is absolutely fantastic. Their food is totally fresh--all of it. They really know what they're doing. Their rolls are incredible, both the specialty rolls and the more traditional. The sashimi is amazing. The restaurant packs the food for takeout as if it's yet another art form. And, I know it may not seem like a big deal, their sesame balls are f-ing ridiculous. I will never be able to eat them anywhere else again. They are still warm when you get to the end of your meal, they are soft and flavorful, and truly heavenly. This is absolutely our go-to sushi place. read more

Wow... we absolutely LOVED Sushi Totoro and already know this will become a regular stop for us. We've never had "AYCE" sushi, before, so we were intrigued. Honestly, I assumed it would be a "buffet" of sorts, but boy was I wrong. We went for dinner and everything was made to-order. This was absolutely unexpected. We sat at the bar, along with about 6 others. I would say for early evening on Saturday night, it was steady, but there was no line. I don't know if this is typical or not, but with the service and quality of food, I don't know how this place isn't packed every night with a waiting list. We chose the "AYCE" option, at $24.99 each. We drank water, so no drink charge. With tax, it was about $53. and some change --- and worth. every. penny. We started with an order each of edamame (a hefty bowl) and the steamed gyoza (4 large with a lovely spicy sauce to dip). Hubs got 2 pieces of nigiri, a scallop and seared ahi tuna. He said both were really good, and when we left, he regretted ordering not ordering more. We ordered a Fried California Roll, a White Dragon Roll, an I-225 Roll, and a Spicy Tuna Roll. California Roll, but fried. I never knew a California Roll could be any better. Spicy Tuna Roll - legit. White Dragon Roll --- this was amazing! Tempura Shrimp, cucumber, and crab --- topped with super white tuna. Yah-um. I-225 Roll Tempura Shrimp, cream cheese and avocado - topped with either salmon or tuna. I'm slowly trying salmon, and this didn't disappoint. If you haven't gone to Totoro yet, do yourself a favor and go... with your appetite. You'll probably see me there. read more

We are always up for trying a new sushi place. My husband and BIL are always eternally hopefull for that diamond in the rough all you can eat place. We were seated immediately and our drink order was taken right away. You can get a large beer for $6, so that isn't bad. The large saki was $7. So you can have a drink with dinner for a good price. The dinner all you can eat is $24.99 once again this is a good price, equivalent to about 2 specialty rolls. They brought our drinks and kindly sat them all on the opposite end of the table from our 1 year old. This was much appreciated. Judging by the other guests in the room this is a pretty family friendly place. We were left alone to figure out what we wanted and checked on 3 times before we were ready to order. We ordered 10 rolls overall so I would say we tried a fair cross section. ( yes we were STUFFED) Here are the rolls we loved: Rockies, DIA and caterpillar. We liked the Flower Garden, Yellowtail and scallions, Beef roll and Philly ( well the guys liked the last two I don't like cream cheese in my sushi). The last 3 were meh. The DTC and two that had bread crumbs instead of tempura. Let's just say there was too much breading and rice and not enough fish. Overall the place was clean, the decor calm and nice, the staff was solicitous without being overbearing. But the sushi for me was middle of the road. Found this place on Yelp while looking for an all you can eat sushi place. Lunch is $16.95 per person and dinner is a little more expensive. For lunch, you are able to have unlimited appetizers, unlimited simple rolls such as spicy tuna rolls, and 1 special roll person - this is how I understood the ordering form w/ respect to the special rolls. Went here with part of 8. 1 Table, 8 people, split check. The initial check per 4 people (2 checks) DOES NOT STATE ON THE CHECK that they added gratuity of 20%. This is ONLY added upon paying for your check. Not being aware of the auto gratuity because 1) they dont tell you and 2) they ring you up so fast you dont see it. On top of that I added another tip not knowing there was the auto. Other half of my party ALSO paid an auto 20%! THATS 40% PER PARTY. ILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN. EVER! They dispute it by the fact that the Whole part was split into 2 tables which is 20% each. NO! We are 1 table. 1!!! Not 2!! There should be 20% for the 1 table. That's it! They're food is ok. It's all the same flavors and drizzles. I like Saigon Tokyo much better. But their system??? Their system is a rip off! I wouldnt even give the 1 Star. read more

I used to come here weekly with my wife. But, she recently passed away. So I met my sister here for my birthday. I arrived first and got us a table. It used to have completely different staff and management a couple years ago and it shows. My sister suggested I order, since she doesn't eat sushi often. We got 6 spicy scallop nigiri, a philadelphia roll, a spicy tuna roll, 3 salmon hand rolls, tempura and she got a salad. We waited at least 20 minutes before any food came, in the meanwhile 1 table that came in after we did received a huge plate of nigiri. Another table that was full before I got there and had already eaten got served another massive round of food. When we finally got something it was a plate with all the rolls on it. The rolls were pretty average, tiny and seemed to fall apart easily. I ate most of the philly, as she didn't like it. She ate most of the spicy tuna, as I didn't like it either. The hand rolls were for me and they were very average, chopped up salmon with a spicy sauce that wasn't very apparent. They used to be great here, with larger pieces and a strip of cucumber. I even have a picture saved from 9/21, that I considered using for a review at that time. I think I skipped the review, as this is around the time the service changed. Before we finished the rolls, she mentioned she had ordered a salad. We started to wonder what happened to it and the tempura, as normally these are served first. They finally came out and she did not like the salad. We tried the tempura, which wasn't bad, at least the broccoli and the shrimp. She was surprised that included just those, 1 onion and 3 sweet potatoes. But it's always been like that. We were nearly done and they brought the spicy scallop nigiri, we nearly forgot about. I thought they weren't bad, but she wasn't a fan. It's probably personal preference. Having noticed both other tables next to us had food that looked much nicer, we decided to order some more nigiri. We had eel, salmon and yellowtail. The eel was actually good and the other 2 weren't bad either. Rating this place on food alone, I would give it 2 1/2 - 3 stars. Now for the service, as I skipped over this completely. This place used to have great service, that was prompt and friendly. Our waiter was a bit slow to come by. It also seemed he was put out to be friendly or take an order. We had to wait a while for a drink refill and more wasabi (which they were ridiculously sparing initially). Although I wasn't wowed by the waiter, maybe this is just the way he is. But, like I said they used to have great service. One of the chefs brought our last order (nigiri) and it seemed like he pushed it past my sister's face, slammed it on the table, then grunted. Considering this act and how appetizing the food at the next table over looked, I felt this may have been discriminatory. But, what can you do in this situation? I have been eating at sushi restaurants since the 90's. This used to be a solid 4 star place, now I feel generous giving it 2. I feel bad picking it for my birthday outing and subjecting my sister to it. We both agreed we won't be going back. I went on Saturday at 1:30. I invited my family members a party of 4 and one toddler. There were no tables because of there "all you can eat sushi" understandable. We weren't there for that just catching up. I asked the "hostess" if she could call me when a table opened up, she said yes. We would be at the Pilothouse Brewery next door (which btw is great I gave them a 5* on Yelp great beers!) they never called me. I felt very disrespected.
