    Chef preparing Osaka okonomiyaki.

The restaurant has just rolled out a refreshed menu along with a newly renovated space featuring a grill counter. The highlight is the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, layered with cabbage, noodles, and savory batter, cooked right on the grill. Watching it prepared in front of you adds to the experience. A great addition to the menu and worth trying for anyone who enjoys authentic Japanese comfort food.

Me and my friend stopped by Sushi Wabi after a long day and were extremely hungry. The first thing I noticed was how pleasant our server was and how quickly she seated us at a nice booth, even though we were only two people. The restaurant was mostly empty, due to how early it was on a weekday, but extremely tidy. Being hungry, as I mentioned, I next noticed how timely the service was, with our appetizers arriving quickly after being ordered. The stuffed button mushrooms were amazing! Somehow all the various flavors worked together to create a perfect bite. The Nabeyaki Udon was also very tasty and the portion size was very generous. Due to how hungry I was, I only took a picture of the takoyaki and crabmeat puffs, which were also great. Overall, I had a very good experience and will be going back for seconds! Highly recommend!

I would have given it a 5 because the ambiance and the food was great but service not so great. Waitress took forever to take our order and no it wasn't packed. But I would go back just for the food and the presentation and thought was put in every dish for sure.

Everything we had was delicious! The waiter was the right amount of attentive without hovering nor being avoidant. He came ready with water, refilled my drink before I had to ask, and ensured there was no rush when paying. The attention to detail was spot on! Now on to the food! We came during happy hour where you can get a 5pc roll for $8.95. The rolls seem so be more of their specialty rolls and the ones we had were otherworldly. Not to mention, they came to the table in remarkable speed. We ordered: Red Hot Mama Roll - She was a wild ride that I will think about for years to come. What a confusing flavor profile that kept me wanting to dive in. Initially the mango and cajuny crawfish flavor shocked me, but then the honey wasabi flavor came in and harmonized it all. Geisha - classy, crunchy, and complex. She may not be for everyone but to me, she turned me into a tempura roll fan. Sometimes the tempura rolls can be too heavily battered, but nope not here. She was dressed in the thinnest vail of crunch that perfectly held a flavor bomb knocking me back. I will be back for her. Tuna Crunch - Everything about this worked. I think this was the best texturally, all components married so well. The spicy tuna complemented the peppered tuna with the avocado being no forgotten member in this roll. It played its part well and blended in well taming the spiciness of the two. This may have been my favorite one of all. Dragon Roll - it was a standard dragon roll (avocado with cooked eel on top, tempura shrimp and cucumber inside) albeit a little cucumber forward. I love eel and cucumber so much but together I felt like they clashed texturally. Overall a great experience, we will be back!

    Tuna tower of my dreams

There are restaurants you go to--and then there are restaurants that become part of your story. Sushi Wabi is that place for me. From the moment I first sat down, I knew there was something special here. The tuna tower? I still think about it in the middle of random days. It's that perfect combination of fresh, creamy, flavorful, and delicate. And don't even get me started on the house salad--how something so simple can be so soul-warming is beyond me. The servers here are the kind of people who make you feel like you're coming home--sweet, attentive, and genuine in a way that's rare to find these days. They remember your favorites. I've celebrated birthdays here, whispered secrets over sushi, cried into miso soup, and laughed until my stomach hurt. It's seen my highs and my lows, and somehow, it always brings comfort. Sushi Wabi has become a kind of sanctuary--where I can show up as I am and be wrapped in warmth, flavor, and kindness. If you're looking for a place that feeds more than your appetite, but also your heart--Sushi Wabi is it. Forever grateful. Forever obsessed.

Oishi had a 15 minute wait at 2:40 pm on a Saturday. I asked them if we would miss the lunch special and the host said maybe. Wtf. So we waltzed over to Sushi Wabi, which also has a lunch special ending at 3 pm but zero wait (only one other customer in there in fact). The prices are more expensive. But I don't know what the serving size is at Oishi. So maybe it's worth it. I've taken some pictures of the lunch specials we had so you can do the comparison. The salad was noticeably larger than most other places I've been. I'm not sure what kind of dressing it was. If it was ginger then it's very light on the ginger taste. Sashimi pieces were thinner than other places too but length and width seemed slightly larger. The bento box was standard fare. Miso soup ok (you only get that or salad unlike Oishi which gives you both for $3 less too). The batter for the shrimp tempura is the kind I like. Like they have on pork katsu. The mochi dessert was pretty good I thought. Like mochi ice cream. And the tempura fried ice cream was surprisingly larger than I thought. The batter was a bit thick though. But nevertheless I broke my diet to eat it because I thought it was worth the cheat.

Had lunch here and the sushi was delicious! I like my sushi pretty simple, but I wanted something different so I went with the Houston roll. Very good - it came with tuna, salmon, white fish, avocado and masago. I must say that the slices are very big, so it was somewhat cumbersome for me to eat them because they are more like two bites of food instead of one like traditional sushi. Flavors were delicious though! I also got another roll - tuna avocado. This didn't disappoint either. The sushi is affordably priced which is much appreciated. My friend had the Mt. Fuji Volcano and the Flying Octupus. The Mt. Fuji Volcano came in on fire and the Flying Octupus had a bear design. Definitely fun menu options! We really enjoyed our time here and the staff was super friendly! Highly recommend trying this place if you like sushi :)

Solid sushi spot in the area! Came in a Sunday evening and parking was a train wreck with a large crowd going to Urban Social on the same block (not sure why so many people were clubbing on Sunday night??) - nevertheless once we arrived, we were seated right away and had a good experience. Service was prompt and the tables/booths had lots of space. For sushi rolls we ordered the Tiger Eye and Rising Sun, both of which I would get again. Then we ended our meal with a nice hot bowl of udon - great shareable dish for a cold weather day!

This restaurant is slowly becoming one of my usual sushi places, and I'm not mad about it. Today, my family and I wanted to try some new things and they were really good! The service is fabulous, and the food is delicious. It's definitely worth it to come here. New Food We Ordered: Ika Geso Karaage - These batteries squid tentacles were fried perfectly, super crispy and light at the same time. The flavor was nice as well, but I feel spicy mayo would be a better dipping sauce than the one served. Takoyaki - Fried octopus balls are one of my favorite things in the whole entire world, and these definitely met my standards. Super crispy on the outside and cooked well, but I feel like it should be dribbled with Kewpie mayonnaise instead of the sauce on the plate right now. Masa Roll - The many ingredients in this roll were cohesive and tasted very well together! I don't find it really different compared to the other rolls on the menu, but it was good nonetheless.

The chashu pork was pale, but melt in your mouth buttery and bursting with savory pork goodness! The marinated egg wasn't brought up to temperature with the broth -- a little cooler than room temperature, with a medium oozy yolk. It felt like the marinade penetrated all through to the yolk -- it was great! I welcomed the novel choice to use red onion over the usual scallions. It was a nice touch of color and brought in that bright, juicy onion flavor that I crave. Noodles were perfect texture. Not too hard or mushy.
