We went to this restaurant for the first time along with 3 other couples. Ambiance, food was extraordinary but the was the food was brought to the table left alot to be desired. That being the food instead of being brought out all together was brought out 1 plate at a time which is ridiculous. My food was next to the last and when I got it it was cold. Waitress was good they just need to get the kitchen up to speed so that everyone is eating and enjoying their meals at the same time. read more

Ordered takeout through their online ordering system, which gave us a pickup time of 7:36. We arrived at that time and didn't get our food until 20 minutes later (about 7:55). When we got there we could tell they forgot about our order and were rushing to make it. Once we left and got home, we got a call that we forgot one of our takeout bags, but they never handed us that bag. We went back to pickup the missing food and they said they gave us something "special" extra for their mistake, which was just a tiny salad. Won't be returning! read more

Overall great place! I would have given it five stars but our waitress was slow and there were a few very minor things. I don't think the other staff was as slow as her from what I saw so this won't keep us from going back. But the food was delicious! We got the sushi nachos as an app which was phenomenal! I wish I would have gotten a picture. There was a ton of meat on a bed of fried wonton chips. Definitely a great starter for two people. Then we both got a combo meal which came with sushi, soup or salad, chicken or steak and rice. It was a ton of food for only $30 (we both had leftovers)! I didn't care for the ginger salad but I'm yet to find a good dressing like I have had up north. This was definitely a ton of food and not heavy like a lot of hibachi places. We had a 5:30 reservation July 3rd. Restaurant was half full. Took 45 min for four salads and 4 rolls. Our waiter never came bk to the table. His service was horrible!!! We asked to split the check with our friends and he brought one check. Food was fabulous. Service terrible !!!!!! He took the order, came bk 45 min later with our food and er never saw him again. We have been to Sushi Yama 2x since it opened 2 weeks ago. I am a very big sushi fan & I have to say that this is one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to. I'm a New Yorker & have always had excellent sushi when I lived there 6 years ago. Now that I have been living in Florida, I tried several sushi restaurants & have never been 100% happy until now. They are fairly priced & the food is exceptional! Looks like it will be a once a week visit there. Service is very good considering they just opened. It took quite a while to be acknowledged by the server. I ordered a summer roll appetizer, and then assorted tempura for my dinner. For what seemed like a long time again, the server named Jeep brought out my appetizer and dinner together. I asked him why he didn't bring the appetizer first, and he told me " that's the way we do it here". I asked him to take back the appetizer because I didn't want my dinner to get cold. He said they would remake the tempura again. I didn't have any confidence in that. I declined. I had the tempura, which was room temperature at best. I ate it and didn't say anything. Visited the new location on Saturday evening. Beautifully decorated interior. Food and service were top-notch. Our only complaint: The menu is black print on blue paper. In the low light above the tables on the perimeter, the menus are very difficult for us older folks to read. Change the paper to white and this restaurant is perfect! read more

Unfortunately our experience here tonight was very unpleasant. We had ordered the Love Boat for 2. It was brought to our table and it did look beautiful but after it was served to us they realized it was for a different table and it was a boat for 3. As they panicked and decided to take it away I informed them that we had touched some of the fish and it was inappropriate to serve it to anyone else. We watched them walk it to the back and serve it to the table that had ordered it. I asked to speak to owner and told he wasnt available and spoke to manager who told me they took off anything we touched at which I told her it was impossible since they had no idea of what had been touched. Unfortunately I would never go back because unsanitary conditions based upon what we encountered. No one should ever serve anything to another table that had already been touched or handle by another table first read more
