Just tried this place yesterday and it was so good! We have been looking for a hot pot place outside of Denver and we found our new place! We both ordered the all you can eat hot pot. I got the bone broth with corn and my husband got the spicy broth. We had lamb, shrimp, and beef meatballs along with 3 kinds of noodles and a bunch of veggies. They also have a sauce station towards the back of the restaurant where you can mix your own sauces. We got a few pieces of nigiri sushi that were also great and very reasonably priced. This place so SO AWESOME!! Go for the all you can eat hot pot. It's only like $20 and their portions are really generous, fresh, and delicious. It's the bomb! Other places charge so much for additional sides, but this is all included. They even have a sauce bar with so many different kinds of sauces! Their decor and music is also on point. Cool atmosphere. My mom can't get over how great the wait staff is haha she's keeps commenting on how polite, hardworking, cute, and helpful these young Asian guys are haha The owner even came to check on us and he's a very very nice guy. To my surprise, they weren't - this was the best sushi I've had in quite some time. Everything on the menu is almost eyebrow raising-ly inexpensive ($12 for a teriyaki dinner bento box with sushi, shumai, soup, salad, meat and rice) but the quality far exceeds what you would expect. Everything we ordered was so fresh, I could tell it was made to order. The fish was outstanding and everything came just how we wanted it. Im not much of a sushi eater, but I wanted something different for lunch,so I tried this place. I ordered the Beef Teriyaki Bento box and was surprised how much different types of foods came in it. First was a small bowl of tasty miso soup. The box contained a salad, California roll sushi, the beef teriyaki with broccoli and other veggies, a rice ball and another item that I was not able to identify. it was all good and tasty. They offer GREAT lunch bento boxes as well. So much food for so little $. The kids menu is great too. My daughter loves the Shrimp tampura. They offer $1.00 Sushi and All day Happy Hour. My husband's all time favorite is the Pepper Tuna, $2.00 for 2pcs. The great thing is he can get like 5 order and get 10pcs of the pepper Tuna and only pay $10.00! That's super cheap for pepper tuna! Ordered a couple of Cali rolls and a shrimp tempura roll and couldn't have been more disappointed. Both rolls were extremely bland and tasteless. The California roll was more avacado than any other ingredient. While the shrimp tempura roll was similar in that it had more lettuce than other ingredients which canceled out any other flavor. We placed a delivery order on Saturday night and we're told it would arrive in about an hour. 90 minutes later, it was still a no show. I called the restaurant to see what the status was, and was told that it would be another hour? When I complained that, last time this happened, our food finally showed up, tempura cold and sushi warm and we ended up with food poisoning, the guy just goes, "Well, maybe you should come to the restaurant." The yaki udon is what we usually order and they give a small portion of for $15, barely enough for myself let alone 2 people. The shrimp tempura is good as well but only with 2 shrimps. This place is not good. We were in the area and were thrilled to bump into sushi joint. The giant glass windows boasted an edgy decor and attractive, funky lights and the giant sign on the outside advertised "Happy Hour... $1 Sushi." We were so excited. The menu was enticing. So many things we wanted to get, but we decided to be frugal that day... and thankfully so. We ordered a Black Dragon Roll (how good does that sound?) and a few pieces of $1 nigiri. How I wish it was good, how I wish! The Black Dragon Roll has shrimp tempura, cucumber, eel, and avocado... all my favorites, wrapped into a tasty bite. How could anyone get this wrong? Firstly, the roll was tiny. Tiny in the way that you hope, hope, hope that it will be filled with such incredible flavor and tantalizing texture that size... wouldn't... matter. Wishful thinking. Not only did it not burst with deliciousness and succulent texture, it sat sad and tiny in my mouth, tiny in the way that you feel ashamed to acknowledge how there's more air than limp sushi in your mouth. Sadness. And then our $1 nigiri... possibly the worse nigiri I've ever had. The Yellowtail was mushy. I have never had mushy fish before, and I could only imagine that mushy Yellowtail that didn't taste like firm, tasty Yellowtail could only mean I was eating not-fresh-Yellowtail. As I chewed away trying to decide whether to swallow the funky mess, my tooth hit something hard. It was rice. There were pieces of old rice that were so hard, I had to spit them out. I thought it was just the Yellowtail, but then the same thing for the Albacore. Mushy fish, crunchy rice. I could barely swallow. Two stars because worse could have happened. I think. I could have been forced to eat another piece of sushi and my tooth could have cracked on the hard rice. The waiter could have spilled scalding tea on my lap and lightning could have randomly hit me as I screamed. See, worse things could have happened. There's a moto that goes something like "You get what you pay for." That's exactly how it goes for Yumi and their $1 Sushi. Overall: Meh. Come if you're stranded on Yumi island and there is no other food in swimming distance. But try to stare into the funky blue lights; that will help distract from the bad, bad sushi. read more

Apparently, that's still within Sushi Yume's happy hour, and so they had awesome prices on their sushi. $2 for 2 pieces of nigiri sushi .... seriously?!?!?! Although I was excited about the insanely cheap prices, a warning flag also went up in my brain that said "If it's that cheap, it can't be good." Wrong. The meat was fresh and high quality, and tasted great. The pieces were certainly not the biggest I've ever had, but neither were they the smallest. I also had the miso soup (good!) and the seaweed salad (good!), and my total bill for all this delicious food came to $23 including tax. WHAT?!?!? This place is almost worth moving to Denver for! This is probably one of the worst sushi experiences we have ever had! We were happy with the decor when we walked in. It looked new and exciting. We were sat at the sushi bar. The server was very in your face and she might as well have pulled up a chair and joined us, she was that close. When it came time to order, the server wanted our entire order. We prefer to order one thing at a time and enjoy the experience instead of having all our meal on plates in front of us. We ordered tuna and salmon and the Phoenix Roll. The roll came out with ingredients missing (cucumber and scallions) and their "special sauce" was simply spicy mayo. Nothing special about that! Once we finished those we were already feeling disappointed but wanted to give it another shot. We ordered the Thunder Roll with Salmon, Jalapeno, Mozzarella, and crunchy onions. We figured this one should be bursting with flavor! When it arrived, the salmon was almost nonexistent and it was as boring as boring could be! Instead of ordering another roll, we decided to cut our loses and get out while we could. We are now down $40 and full of disappointment. This sushi was not even decent.
