    The Dancing Roll
    Taylor L.

My favorite sushi place ever!! I discovered this place a month ago and my fiancé and I come here every week! The spicy garlic edamame, yellow fin w/ jalapeño and the Dancing Roll (I dug in before taking a pic) are my absolute musts when we come! The service is quick and the staff is friendly. What more could you ask for? I will recommend this place to everyone!

Ordered the "New" Salmon Roll. It had a double dose of salmon- Salmon in the middle and salmon on top. How bad can that be? The roll was light and delicious. I understand Denver isn't coastal but the menu is way overpriced IMO.

This is my new spot. The orange chicken is crispy and well sauced, the crab rangoons are to die for! And i can't recommend the tuna tataki enough!

I must preface, Im a server at the airport and NEVER tip less than 20%, most often tipping $20 cash on less than $100,etc. I left 0 tip as she gave us a big FU mentality. We each ordered an alcoholic bev and a hot tea. We each ordered 2 soups and 3 sushi rolls to split. Firecracker roll was the issue for the evening. It was labeled as a spicy tuna with deseeded jalapeño and cream cheese. It was essentially a stuffed thick jalapeño popper with cream cheese and Im sure tuna somewhere. It was crap. I wanted a tuna roll not a stuffed jalapeño, its a big difference. The other two dishes...everything else was good enough I would be back. We each tried the jalapeño and put down. We ate everything else and said we didn't like the roll at all, we showed what we didn't like and said it was not edible and asked for any non spicy tuna roll for a substitute. The second was delicious. She charged us for both rolls, only offered to give us 1/2 off after I inquired and said since she kept the $17 charge for the food I sent back and didn't eat I wasn't tipping. She was obviously the owner as a server would never do that. Since she showed she doesn't care, I left my first review in years. Enjoy on your own experience. I will go elsewhere. Ill go to everywhere but here. $17. Was worth not having a repeat customer

Egg drop soup was really good, the gyoza was fantastic but the disappointed with the chicken Katsu. Menu is confusing because when I ordered the Katsu for ($18) - I assumed it came with veggies like the menu said but when I got the meal, it came on a bed of lettuce? When I asked about it, she said that "all the other entrees that say they come with veggies actually come with veggies but the Katsu doesn't". Which means you're paying almost $20 for fried chicken. The food was pretty good but not very impressed with everything else.

Had a good experience eating here, good sushi and good service. The rolls we had were delicious, I wish I could try all of them. I would recommend this place for sure, I would happily come back here.

Chinese lunch is tasty and a good deal. Comes with soup, egg roll, and steamed rice, even on Saturday.

I am so glad we did because this place is a hidden gem in the neighborhood. Once we were inside we were greeted by friendly staff and seated, cold glasses of water came alongside the menus. We decided on some sushi, a plate of Shrimp Yakisoba, and Kobe Beef Fried Rice. The fried rice was so delicious. The best I've had in a long time, the last time I had fried rice this good was when my friend's Japanese grandmother made it for us. That was over 15 years ago. I am also a big fan of Yakisoba, and this Yakisoba was also one of the best I've had in a long time. The sushi was excellent too. The inside is decorated with a nice modern feel, and it's clean and tidy. I love the feel in here. People are just talking, eating, it feels like a true neighborhood joint where there's regulars. I have a feeling I am going to become a regular here too.

We arrived at 6:30 pm on a Saturday evening to full restaurant which was a great sign. You also want to see your sushi bar moving a lot of product so you know their seafood will be fresh. Lucky for us there were two seats at the bar open so we were seated right away. We started off the meal with of course some Sapporo and premium sake along with a tempura app. I've not found great tempura in the area and was pleasantly surprised with their preparation. We then ordered a Chirashi bowl (wife) and assorted nigiri for myself. The chirashi was okay, decent but not anything amazing. Some of the fish cuts were a little odd like they were the trimmings from the end of the filet. My nigiri was solid and I appreciate the fish to rice ratio was perfect as lot of other places make their sushi with way too much rice to stretch the dish. The amaebi or sweet shrimp was fresh and heads were nicely fried and tasty though I wish they fried it a minute longer. Overall a solid sushi bar tucked away from the main road but definitely worth a visit!

I ordered the Red Dragon roll, the champion sashimi, and the Denver roll to go via online ordering through their website. The ordering process was not ideal for a first time customer because none of the items had descriptions so I was looking between their website and then the ordering platform. Once you order it gives you a time frame but I never got another notice when my order was actually ready which wasn't ideal. My order was correct and packaged very pretty for takeout. The Red Dragon roll was just okay. In my opinion, the tuna on top of it is sliced very thin, so it's not much of a show stopper especially for what they consider to be a special roll. It had a lot of rice. It was fine but I don't think I'd order it again because it wasn't memorable in my opinion. The champion sashimi was kinda spicy which I didn't expect but it was delicious. I would order more of this or something similar to this preparation next time. The Denver roll was refreshing. It's wrapped in cucumber and it comes with a special sauce. I liked it. It was pretty filling too. I could see myself ordering that again if I'm craving a lighter option. I'd order the champion sashimi again and try something new next time for my second option.

The restaurant itself was clean and I loved the anime theme, especially the cool art on the walls. The only funny thing was that I was not sure why they still had Christmas decorations up. When it came to the food, I would put it into two distinct categories: the sushi, sashimi, and ramen versus everything else. The sushi, sashimi, and ramen were phenomenal for an AYCE sushi place. The fish came in decently sized portions, had good flavor, and practically melted in your mouth. Every roll we had was super flavorful, and I loved the phantasma roll the most. I also really liked the ratio of fish and fillings to rice. I did not feel like they were trying to intentionally fill me up on rice like some other places do. On the other hand, everything else on the menu was mid to below average and completely skippable. I highly recommend saving the room in your stomach for the fish, rolls, and ramen. The pork belly skewer and gyoza were actually very disappointing. Overall, Chubby Fish Sushi is a great treat every once in a while. For two people after tip, it came out to about $80. Stick to the fish and the ramen, and you will have a fantastic meal.

It took about 25 minutes for our table to be ready which is pretty legit at 5:45pm. The inside is super cute and the decor is bright and friendly. I enjoyed checking out all the cute touches and artistry! The food came pretty fast. I would say this sushi is pretty mid if you're comparing to high quality, fancy sushi. But for AYCE, it's great! For $30.99/person, we definitely ate our money's worth! I think in total we ordered like 7 rolls, 8 pieces of nigiri, and 6 different side dishes. Sesame balls, tako yaki, cheese wontons, were all subpar. The jalapeno bomb I would not recommend - it was overall just strange and not what I was expecting. There was like a weird meat mixture deep fried with the shell of the jalapeno. I would definitely order the Truffle White Tuna and Crispy Spicy Tuna side dishes again. Shout out to the Fire in the Sky Roll and the deliciously simple Salmon Avocado Roll. Overall, a great place to eat your weight in sushi. Service was super friendly and they move fast! Also recommend the house hot sake to compliment the meal!
