    Beautiful plants and lobby.

The people here are very friendly and it has a great atmosphere and they make you feel very welcome. Their food feels more authentic than most. Their machines ice cream is my favorite. Their portions are a little small for the price and they charge extra for the shrimp sauce when most places don't. We had a great time overall.

Hands down the BEST Japanese restaurant in Savannah that hits the spot every time! Hoping they open a second location in Richmond Hill. RH is in need of a good sushi restaurant. Located in south-side SAV. Lots of free parking. Simple traditional decor with hand folded origami paper cranes hanging from the ceiling. Friendly staff.

Sushi zen is hands down one of the best sushi spots in Savannah. The staff is very friendly. The bacon wrapped scallops are one of my faves and the ramen ain't so bad either.

If u are wanting to have good eats with a Japanese ambiance. Look no further than Sushi Zen where you get the freshest sushi. I have had it here in Georgia. I highly recommend the sunomono salad as a starter and the spicy tuna bowl as the main entree. Come with friends or that special someone. You will not regret it. Service was fast and friendly. Our server is the best I forgot something came back in an hour and she had it waiting for me.

Great sushi and definitely the best in Savannah. Great service and atmosphere. Definitely give this place a try if in Savannah. Bonus they had toro and Aji in.

Food was good, service was nice. One minor mistake but - we're human. Ambiance was very well done. Would visit again .

While in Savannah for 15 hours to visit my husband on his work trip, we decided to order delivery to his hotel. I found Sushi Zen via the Yelp app and was able to place our order through the app as well (so convenient!). We went with a few sushi rolls including the philly (always a fave of mine), Pink Panther Roll, and Havannah Roll. All were delicious, I highly recommend the Pink Panther. I knew sushi wouldn't be enough for my husband so I also blindly added the Chicken Dinner which ended up being a box of chicken, veggies and fried rice -- he finished the whole thing so I'd assume that's a good sign! It did also come with a mashed potato ball which took us a few minutes to figure out what it was (we thought it was wasabi at first) but was really good. Delivery was extremely prompt and Covid friendly. All in all, we would certainly eat here again!

Food was amazing. Summer bowl was first time I had cold ramen... definitely sold on this now!

My wife and I went out for an early evening walk to enjoy Mayer Lake. After 45 minutes we were starting to get hungry but wanted something light. We found Sushi Zen on Yelp and headed over. We both loved the cosy atmosphere as we entered. The hostess sat us quickly and we were ordering drinks and food within minutes. The food was fresh light and most importantly delicious. The staff were friendly, professional and really knew the menu. Highly recommend. Author David Moon Books on Amazon Zomosapiens Scales of Justice Pickle's Pickle

This place is owned by the group that also owns places such as Sunday Sunday and Flying Monk Noodle House (both also equally and amazingly fantastic). The service was impeccable this go around and I really wished I caught the server's name but, alas, I didn't. I do remember the server wearing a really cool Levi and Strauss belt buckle (so if anyone from the restaurant reads this please give this individual kudos). I will say with the way customer service can be these days it truly was a breath of fresh air. We started out with the hamachi sushi maki style. SUPERB! The fish was so fresh and delicious. I ordered the hamachi poke bowl (I obviously like yellowtail ) I really need everyone to know how fresh this place is. We also had the Laos Lemongrass which was pork belly with rice, kimchi and some veggies. It also came with a curry sauce which was absolutely yummy with the pork. I also really like their iced tea. It tastes like Thai tea but without all of the sugar. Very aromatic. If you are ever in Savannah, this is the place to go. Cute atmosphere, fantastic service and extraordinary food.

Between the atmosphere, cocktails, and fresh sushi, this place is definitely worth checking out if you're in the area.

Also, I went to culinary school when I was younger at The French Culinary Institute in San Jose, CA. And have worked as a prep cook, line cook, sous chef, head chef, private chef, catering chef, and also have worked as a server in the front of house for a lot of my life, too. Not saying I know everything, cuz I have much more to learn. Just saying I'm reliable......unlike too many others here that are not, but should be! Anyway... Came here for dinner. On their menu was "lobster & shrimp RAVILOI." - the "ravioli" were literally the Flock to the Woks left over shrimp dumplings. And the "sauce" on the "raviloi" was the left over base soup from the vaults lemoncoconut soup. Drinks were fine. (This was also a few months ago, I just haven't had much free time to write this til now). So, I forget what else we ordered, clearly cuz it was forgettable, underwhelming, & disappointing. I will never forget that Ravioli dish because it has kept me from this restaurant since. I've seen many restaurants Owners depart completely away from their restaurants after they grow lucrative & efficient enough to operate without their presence. But, every single time they do that, SOOOO MANY THINGS fall under the same satisfactory umbrella/standards as they once did. How can the person who owns almost everyyyy single restaurant in Savannah be truly present at any of them? And having so many at once I'm sure you would see lots of food waste and try to prevent that to save dimes & pennies, thinking the reg tourist or human won't notice....but, we do. It's honestly gross to me. On the west coast cooking is so competitive. Younger generations are literally out there traveling & battling to be the best. And we all hear how wonderful Savannah's food Scene is, like to the point you'd want to travel here just for the food. But I can NOT tell you how truly disappointing this city's food scene is. Aside from a few really good restaurants-(Common Thread for most consistent & overall best ever & The Grey for their kitchen and cooks)- in my eyes, most everything else is tourist food and not truly cared about. Sorry Savannah but I'm only saying this because I know there could be wayyy more effort put into your every day work. And if you're going to go out and buy all of the property and own almost ever other restaurant here-wouldn't you want it to actually be GOOD for each customer instead of just GOOD for the marketing photos?

After getting sorted we spoke to the hostess and then were shortly seated. The waiter came and took our drink orders right away. We got 2 cokes and a Whiskey Sour with Japanese Whiskey. After waiting about 15 min the waiter came back to take our food order, however we still had not gotten our drinks. We asked and said they were coming swiftly. Finally after 10 minutes later our drink orders came in. The cokes were flat but the Whiskey Sour was really good. I can't remember the waiters name but honestly she came by maybe 4 times the whole night and did not have the best attitude. The best thing about Ukiyo hands down was the food. Everything from the Ramen to the wagyu bao buns, just Wow. The wagyu was so crispy and just melted in your mouth. The ramen had amazing flavor profiles and was perfectly spiced. We also ordered the Chicken Karaage and this was so tender with the citrus mayo. This was also pretty big so were easily filled with all these dishes. The food and cocktails were amazing but the service really did disappoint from the delays and infrequent interactions.
