I like Sunny lemon roll. I found this roll very fresh, delicious and pretty. I recommend this restaurant.

We love this place :) The older gentleman who works there is always very friendly and helpful. It feels like a mom and pop restaurant, very cosy. I usually get udon and the popcorn roll and my partner gets the bento box. We've tried most of the dishes and enjoy them all. We keep coming back not only for the food but the warm welcome from the adorable older man who works there, he reminds us of our grandpa :)

I have never heard of SushiEn even though I've passed the plaza (off Mednik Ave & 3rd Street) where it is located in several times. We received a menu in the mail recently and decided to phone in our order for pick up. We ordered 1 Chicken Teriyaki Bento box (delicious and full of flavor), 1 spicy tuna roll, 1 Alaskan roll, 1 jalapeno salmon roll, and 1 golden tiger roll. All the rolls were fresh and carefully prepared; not drowning in sauce or falling apart. I was most impressed with how carefully packaged our order was. SushiEn takes great care in not only preparing your food but also carefully packaging it for you to enjoy at home. We were most impressed with the service and plan to come back again soon to try their ramen! Enjoy your visit!

I've been ordering from this place through Postmates, not knowing how close they actually were to me. I'm so happy to have found such a great sushi spot so close to home. This is my third or fourth time ordering from them, and it definitely won't be my last. The food is made fresh, the presentation of the food upon arrival is always packaged so neatly. I can tell that they prep their food with a lot of care, making sure that their customers are satisfied. Highly recommend this place! Plus they're on Postmates so it's very accessible.

Worst please ever!! Their menu does not match the food. New employee asked I heard the chef yell, "they ordered it, they pay" I do not recommend this place to anyone! They are not even Japanese. They also ask if you want water. Normally free. They gave us water bottles. And we were charged!! This place is just not worth it! The chef is Jim, according to the very nice lady who helped us. Don't waste your time here. Not worth the buck or the experience. Terrible Terrible

When a coworker suggested this place I thought it was a real sushi bar but it's more like fast food sushi. Some of the bummers about this place: *They do not have tobiko or masago. * They forgot the wasabi for our 3 orders even though we asked twice for extra. *Not as many options for rolls, sushi, etc. *it is really small inside with only about 5-6 small tables. I ended up ordering the sushi bento box which was a-ok. Lots of food for the price. Some of the pluses are that it is convenient, close by, and has plenty of free parking.

I didn't check the reviews on this place until I got here to eat lunch. Fast food sushi? You could say that... but the quality wasn't bad at all & the fish was still pretty fresh.

The more I eat the sadder I'm getting... Ordered for doordash delivery, food was very well packaged, and looked promising! I was excited for my chicken karage and chirashi don. Chicken was heavily breaded and dipping sauce was your store bought Thai sweet chili sauce. Nothing to crave nothing to rave. Chirashi don had a good amount of fish, a tiny sliver of avocado, a massive load of seaweed salad under, and the worst part of the dish, the super dense sushi rice. I saw another review about the fish quality being terrible so was concerned but the pieces I got were pretty good. Not high quality but not bad either. However... They were sliced in very large thin slices larger than what you'd use for nigiri so it was a bit difficult to eat. I think I'm just sick from the excessive seaweed salad and thick rice... Ate 3rd of the bowl I'm done... Sad...

Your tips are included, which is pretty high at 17% but at least they give you a disclaimer before you order and also on the menu. It is also a cashless establishment which really is no problem. I really like that. They have a little button on the table that you can call for service at any time so you don't have to hunt down for help. The combo is a pretty good option to get if you're eating alone or want some leftovers to take home or have a very small eating partner with you. We got the Shoyu and Salmon Poke bowl. All very decent size and tastes exceptional. The mochi dessert was pretty bland. I'm not sure if the ice cream is old, but it has a freezer taste to it, and the cheesecake is pretty standard. For $4.50 I think it's a bit pricey for the quality, but if you want something sweet to end, it's doable. Really great service and it does get filled up. It's pretty new, but I'm sure a word will get around Hope it stays here for a long time!

They…read moregave me their cucumber mint yuzuade, virgin yuzu pina colada, cucumber crab salad, pork buns, curry rice, spicy cold dipping noodles, tonkatsu ramen, and vegan ramen to try. The drinks were super tart, tangy, sweet, and concentrated. The yuzuade was like a minty strong lemonade and the pina colada kinda reminded me of a yogurt drink and was was super pineappley and creamy with a sprinkle of nutmeg. Wasn't getting any coconut flaves tho. The cucumber salad was pretty much thinly sliced cucumbers coated in Furikake with some stringy imitation crab. The gua boas tho--pillowy fluffy slightly sweet super soft buns with sweet fatty melt in your mouth meat and crunchy pickled onions? MNM. The curry rice was massive and filling. The cold noodles came with a boiled egg, some cooked spinach, roasty fatty cha shao, crunchy bean sprouts and bamboo, and springy qq noodles that soaked up the refreshing, not really spicy, sesame oily sauce you dip it in. The tonkatsu ramen wasn't kinda salty, heavy, and oily. The vegan ramen had a savory garlicky not spicy or too heavy broth, bitter arugala, ground soy meat, tofu, bean sprouts, fried broccoli, and some corn bits. If you want some more of a kick in things their garlicky chili spicy sauce is good. Service is nice and portions are lowkey pretty good. But the food overall for me eh. Yuzu mint $6.25 Pina colada $6.25 Pork buns $12.90 Cucumber $6.10 Curry rice $11.80 Dipping ramen $17.90 Tonkotsu $19.40 Vegan ramen $20.45

You're welcomed into a cozy apace that has some decorative elements even to the music choice. Reminds me of our trip to japan, which I MISS SO MUCH! The Food Takoyaki: $8.95. 4/5 Stars. - Comes in 5pcs with sauce and bonito flakes. I liked how the outside was a bit crunchy and inside was fluffy! Karage: $8.95. 5/5 Stars - Comes in 5pcs. The sauce was tangy sweet kind of like teriyaki sauce. It was crispy but still so juicy and soft. HANDS DOWN GET THIS! Loved it so much I could have a whole bowl Tsukemen: $22.45. 5/5Stars - If you aren't familiar with this, the broth is separate from the noodles. Its a different way of experiencing noodles. The broth is thick, creamy and flavor profile is on point. Inside of the broth there is mushrooms and pcs of pork. The noodles are cooked perfectly and also comes with pcs of nori, soft boiled jammy eggs and 4 pcs of thick chashu. Portion size lets just say they are generous and we all can EAT ^^, Kakigori (MATCHA) $8/$14. 5/5 Stars - Definite MUST! Its made with Japanese shaved ice, a very creamy soft cream matcha sauce and matcha powder! I cant tell you how good this dessert is. The wife is obsessed and one if the main reasons why we found this spot in the first place. Please try! Service: - Super friendly staff! They are quick to get our order and serve our meal. I asked for more limes for my noodles 2x and both times they were quick. Made us feel very welcomed and checked in on us on a regular, which also reminded us of the service Japan showed us once upon a time. Overall: We love this place and we keep coming back with new people to share this type of noodle experience. Check them out im sure you will enjoy it. Lets just say we drove an hour to eat this. You def will not be disappointed :)

The…read moreother two ordered tsukemen ($26.50 for the spicy deluxe and $23.50 for the spicy chasu) and found it very salty because they chose to consume it not by dipping the noodles in the bowl of broth, but rather by pouring all the broth from the bowl into the noodles, trying to recreate a normal bowl of ramen. I can't speak for them, but I will say, if you order the tsukemen and find that you want more dipping broth, that will be an extra charge. Order a regular bowl of ramen if you do not plan to dip the brothless noodles into the broth for each bite. BF and I both tried the spicy tuna bowl ($7.95), chashu bowl ($8.95), and tonkotsu ramen ($15.95). The bowls are a little smaller than the ramen bowls and are a great option if you want a light meal without feeling super full. The tonkotsu ramen had a slightly rich broth that was flavorful and a decent portion of noodles. We opted not to order the ramen with the egg since we were also trying the rice bowls. The three items were more than enough for the two of us and a good variety of food. Parking here is horrible at the street level, so head downstairs for the two levels of underground parking.

Because of those positive experiences, I had high expectations for the Monterey Park location. Unfortunately, this location completely changed my opinion. One experience in particular stands out. My family and I visited when the restaurant was moderately busy. We do not enjoy sitting at the bar, so we politely requested a table instead. The staff told us to wait, which seemed reasonable. We noticed that a table had just become available and was being cleaned, so naturally we assumed it was being prepared for us. After waiting for nearly 10 minutes, a staff member finally returned and told us, "Sorry, it looks like we can't seat you at a table. You'll have to sit at the bar." At that point, I wasn't upset that a table wasn't available. What bothered me was being left waiting for so long when they could have simply told us from the beginning that only bar seating was available. Instead, we waited with the expectation that a table was being prepared, only to be told otherwise after wasting our time. We simply said "OK" and left without eating. The lack of communication and consideration left a bad impression that has stayed with me ever since. The food at other Silverlake Ramen locations may be excellent, but I have no desire to return to this Monterey Park location. Fortunately, there are several other Silverlake Ramen restaurants nearby, including Pasadena and other areas, and I would rather visit those instead.
