Truffle star Roll - the wasabi is pretty strong, so not something I was able to really take. Salmon roll- love the portions here. Not too small Ambiance - classy and looks very nice. You don't have to be fancy, but I think this could be a cute spot for a date. Plenty of parking.

This is the 3rd restaurant I've been to in this space. They opened not long ago and is eager to please. The food is pretty good and the owner came out to greet us. I think this place deserves a chance to get going in this tough scene. Support!

In the mood for some Japanese food, found this place in Monterey Park, located in a shopping center. Been here twice already, food is good and the customer service is excellent, thanks, Ashley and Axel! I love that I can order a sushi roll on soy paper. Looking forward to coming back and trying other items on the menu.

great location and great service from the staff. very friendly and attentive and ready for anything. great selection and mood inside as it seemed relaxing with the dim light. food was good except I feel like the chirashi bowl and the toro missed the mark. bit steep here so bring your wallet.

I've been to Kokoro many times but let me tell you they remodeled in January and the place looks entirely different. It's always been good but now they really stepped up their game. The ambience has improved tremendously and everything is so cute with a full sushi bar. They also have a greatly expanded menu and are offering many items that you won't find elsewhere. One of those that I tried is the castle tower. This is composed of 3 fired wonton wrappers each topped with blue crab, avocado slices and a little bit of red onion. Presentation is very nice and the blue crab was a generous helping. Honestly, everything was really good and I cannot wait to go back.

They added wasabi in every piece of our salmon sushi. It was hidden under the salmon. The meal was for my 6 year old and she immediately spit it out. Not sure why it was added since we didn't ask for it.

    3 ITEM BENTO (DINNER)

Came here on a Wednesday evening with my sister to grab some dinner. They had a wide selection of sushi rolls and combos. We were indecisive but ended with the bento box 3 items which included a side of miso soup and also choices or sides/meats/sushi rolls. The service was also top tier here as they were fast and very nice as well. Interior was very new and recently remodeled. Modern and clean. Great food and experience and it's close by to me so I'll definitely be back!

Found such a cute gem in the East Los area- who knew sushi would be so great here?! My mom and I were in the area and in the search for a dinner spot, I stumbled across this place in a quick google search and decided to give it a try since we were starving. Located in a busy shopping center but it was no problem to find a parking spot. Entering the restaurant we were surprised at the beautiful interior decor and the immediate welcome from the staff (such a nice uniform). We were seated right away and got to order our drinks as we browsed the menu further. We decided to share a couple options to try multiple things off the menu. I am glad we did because everything was amazing!

Came here for dinner for the first time and got the 3 item bento dinner value menu (I chose the pork cutlet, fried white fish, and sesame chicken). Value wise it is definately very value priced. It seem like their lunch also has a good bento value as well. Parking is massive since it's part of a shopping plaza, though the restaurant itself seems a bit out of place and can easily be missed when you're driving by. They do have a really wide selection of rolls. The other person in my group got the spider roll and truly enjoy it. However, it was disappointing that there wasn't much variety for non-fried food in the bento combinations. A good bento box should be a balanced meal, but pretty much my whole meal felt fried. Also, the place doesn't fully represent a traditional Japanese aesthetic, it feels alot more like a Korean twist on sushi. Overall, great for the wallet and good rolls, but just okay on the balance of the bento meal.

Sushi is always excellent and many options to choose from...great customer service and ambiance!

Waited over 10 minutes on hold just to place an order for a simple California role. Person who answered never came back.

I called to place an order around 2 pm today. Well after lunch hour. Person who answered the phone just said "please hold" . I waited for over 10 minutes until I finally got tired of waiting and hung up. I called back and same person pretended to be the manager but no restaurant manager would just leave a customer order hanging like that so I don't think so. I Hope the real manager sees this and investigates. The fact is that either dine in or order out, this place is always a mess. Slow waiters, or even few waiters for multiple tables, slow food prep, unorganized management and operation of dining area overall is always chaos like its everyone's first day. Little did I know same experience calling in a simple order for a California roll! Seriously? Monterey Park's Kaiba Sushi who is their competition just down Atlantic has always been very well organized even when super busy. Staff is friendly and doesn't make excuses for having too many people and not enough staff. I will not be supporting Sushi Kokoro again.

Came here after the Dodgers game with my cousin around 10 pm. They close at 11 pm which is a little later than most sushi spots! I was very impressed how fresh the sashimi we ordered as well as the rolls were delicious. Service was great and had a lot of enthusiasm be energy especially when they're about to close so bravo to them. Last call was properly addressed so we appreciate that as well. The restaurant is clean with a touch of wood aesthetic which makes the place come all together. I really like this sushi spot and will be back the next time I'm in Monterey Park!

The sushi was amazing. It always tastes fresh and delicious. Their service is always incredible and friendly. Both Miguel and Mikey always go above and beyond and they always make use feel welcome. The ambiance is great as well especially some of the wall decor. 100/10 would eat there again PS: even if you are not a fan of sushi, they have a wide selection of Japanese cuisine on the menu too!

Sashimi Harmony. 1st time trying the little crab I had to ask if it was edible . Super delicious highly recommended.

We came here around 11AM and the place had a solid amount of customers when we arrived. The menu here is simple enough offering a few different burrito and bowl options with various meats and vegetables to use as toppings or fillings. I decided on giving the combo bowl a try which consisted of beef, chicken, a healthy dose of white rice, and some vegetables to top it all off. One cool thing this place does offer is slush drinks as well, I ended up going with what I think I recall being strawberry mango? well, it was something like that and it was absolutely delicious, definitely the best part of the experience. The food didn't take too long to come out and I gotta be honest here, I was pretty let down with the food. The chicken and beef were both fine, but without the sauce they were a tad on the dry side and didn't really taste all that great. The vegetables and rice were fine, but nothing to really discuss. Overall, I left Chop Chop Chicken with little to no desire to return again in the future. The food was on the bland side and the slush itself isn't really enough to make me want to drive back to Monterey Park for, so I guess this is a one and done for me.

The second time I picked up my order, I got the Homegirl Salmon Bowl. I picked up my order 30 minutes late because my meeting went overtime. I didn't think it would be a big deal because I picked up the item I selected on the ClassPass app and showed her my ClassPass app at checkout. The staff informed me that they needed the confirmation email. Luckily I took a screenshot of my work email confirmation because I don't have my work email installed on my phone. The staff said I would need the actual email for check out because other customers were picking up multiple meals throughout the day or posing as someone else on ClassPass. I didn't know people would do that. This time around I got a pass, but a note for next time. For the quality of the meals, both were filling and healthy. I could have split one bowl into two meals. The flavor was good and all of the ingredients seemed real, from what I can tell. AI (artificial ingredients) is a real thing! The meals only take 2-3 minutes to microwave and it's ready to eat. For those of you unfamiliar, a Dosirak is a traditional Korean packaged meal with rice, banchan, protein, and an egg, similar to a bento box with different compartments for various foods. We ordered the Angus Beef Galbi (Short Rib) Dosirak ($29.99), which included nine pieces of short ribs, white rice, salad, japchae, four sides, and one mandu. Our Dosirak included mac salad, kimchi, house salad, and japchae. While it's on the pricier side considering the portion size, the food is high-quality and delicious. I hesitated a bit at the price since my son chose it for his lunch, and it's a lot of money for a child's meal. I knew he wouldn't finish it or want everything, especially the spicy items. We all loved the galbi and would order it again, price aside. The Dosirak was packaged perfectly, and each compartment was delicious, complementing the galbi perfectly. There are some things I'd like to mention that have already been said in other reviews, if you just scroll down. The portion sizes are ridiculous compared to other Cava locations I've been to. It's almost like a joke to even serve the sorry a** bowls that they do. Make no mistake--this is not the workers' fault. I feel like a lot of the heat gets placed on the workers, but they're only doing what is required of them. It's the managers, the boss, and the team that comes by to train the workers to serve a specific amount of each ingredient. This is a slap in the face. You're playing with people who work hard for their money, giving them ridiculous portions at full price, all to pocket more money. I know there's someone from the business side of Cava on here who responds to these reviews telling us to submit further critiques on their website, but what good is that doing if you still haven't listened to the concerns of your customers and changed the portion sizes? It angers me because I see what this business is doing, and they're doing it right in front of our faces while the workers take the heat, all for extra profit. I'm not f***ing with it. I'm passionate about this review because this feels like straight-up robbery of people's money, and this location does not care.
