Rock and roll and a few pieces of Rainbow

We didn't time it right because my daughter had to go to work. Been there before for the viral sushi pizza box. Today we had vegetable tempura and 3 rolls. Rainbow, rock and roll and white house. Probably would have had a better experience if we didn't have to rush. One of the fish on the rain bow was a little d Strong but still good. We couldn't finish the last roll which I think was the White House. Going to give that one to my son. We took it to go.

After saying I would stop by to try the food for 2 years, I finally did. I'm sad to say that it was not good at all. First, the customer service was lacking. We were not welcomed nor asked if we needed assistance. The overhead menu is very dark and hard to read. The ambiance of the location is drab and dark so we decided to order to go. We tried the gyoza, veggie egg rolls, cucumber salad, water eel roll (not what we originally ordered, she messed up), and 2 pieces of tuna sushi. Every item was watery and disappointing besides the cucumber salad. The rolls were unusually warm and the avocado did not taste very fresh. The veggie egg rolls were very soggy as if they were once frozen, defrosted, and not crisped up all the way through, the gyoza was also wet, fell apart at the touch, and severely lacked flavor. The sushi pieces tasted more like water than fish. Was everything frozen first? The cucumber salad was the only thing that tasted as it should. My family are legit sushi and sashimi lovers and knew from the overall appearance of the order that this wasn't going to go well. I should have canceled the order and left when I saw a pot of seafood in running water in the sink behind the sushi chefs. Was this just a bad day or have they gone down? I won't know because I'm never coming back.

Called in for a Togo order. We ordered Sweet Angeles Roll, Hot Night Roll and Shrimp Tempura. The order was prompt and she told me it was ready in 10 min. Arrived and ambiance is small and tight. Limited seats. Food was good. Packaged separately.

Service was okay, one of our rolls was forgotten about so we had to ask to reorder it. Place is very small and limited seating, we came when it was busy but the friend we went with says it's normally quiet. I'd go back but I'd order less food next time

First time coming here and did not disappoint! We finally found a sushi spot we like by our house. We ordered Las Vegas, Baked Lobster and Rattle Snake roll and all were so good! Cant wait to come back and try their other rolls on the menu.

A better name for Sushiholic should be "Teriyaki N' Sushiholic" because their teriyaki chicken and beef... the sauce is just as amazing as their sushi rolls. Yes who can resist their spicy sliced jalapeño topped Peppered Salmon Roll or their texture paradise "Jessica Roll" that's like a Rainbow Roll but with crunchy tempura inside. I feeling extra crunchy today and enjoyed their Calmari Tempura served with their addictive spicy mayo! The other side of Sushiholic that outshines the creative rolls has to be their teriyaki plates. I can't say which is better, chicken or beef because both are delicious. What's makes a good teriyaki is of course their sauce. It's a great balance of sweet, salty and saucy but not too sticky. The way this spot grills their chicken and beef is just perfect. The beef is tender and not dry at all. That also goes for the grilled chicken. Even if it didn't have the sauce, the teriyaki meats still have flavor. Service is attentive. This is a casual spot for a quick bite to eat that won't hurt your wallet or just need a quick meal on the go! Come check out Sushiholic!

Came here for the second time in the same week and I'm officially a fan. This little hole-in-the-wall spot gets packed, but it's absolutely worth the wait. I ordered the chicken teriyaki bento box and it was perfect--tender chicken and just the right amount of teriyaki sauce. The staff is friendly and attentive, which makes the experience even better. Easily one of my favorite go-to Japanese restaurants.

Can never go wrong with this place! The food is consistently good and the pricing is always right. A nice little place for all your sushi cravings. Pink Lady Roll is one of their best dishes and the salmon carpaccio is great too! The service here is excellent and they always make it a point to greet you. There is so much variety in their menu items so coming back to try other things is a must! read more

This was my first time here at Sushiholic and it was amazing. I got the diablo roll which was so refreshing and the salsa that came with it was so good. I also got the rattlesnake roll and the scallop roll which were both very very good. They had great customer service and the restaurant was very clean. Wasn't too pricey. I would definitely come here again and tell others about it too. read more

This is our favorite place to eat sushi. And we are sushi lovers. They are always super nice and we love the fact that they always have Christian music playing. They have creative rolls and their Diablo sauce is amazing. If you're looking for a local place to get sushi that's fresh and delicious this is the place to go. Mark my words you won't regret it. Great place to go for a quick bite... It's pretty small and I would suggest ordering take-out if you don't want to wait for a table during lunch time. They have a good happy hour, their rolls and chicken teriyaki are extremely tasty, and the staff is really friendly. read more

Overall Sushiholic is better than expected, and I am pleasantly surprised that it's located where it is. The servers are generally very friendly although I get the impression that sometimes they are not as experienced as other servers because they can forget things like the edamame. In any case the service is still overall more than acceptable since they're attentive to refilling drinks and clearing tables. Sushi is a highlight at this place because their servings are generous, especially compared to many other sushi places. The pieces of fish are larger than most similar establishments. I've mainly experienced the rolls. We have enjoyed the Spicy Tuna Nacho Roll, Mango Salmon Roll, and the Philadelphia Roll (which was definitely more generous than we've encountered before). The atmosphere is quaint and fairly decent. It's not a bustling sushi bar, but it's definitely not a bad place to sit and eat. They usually have the TV on, but it's not so loud as to demand your attention. There's also music playing in the background, which eases the silences created by the eating. They have accepted AMEX from me in the past, but they (understandably) probably prefer VISA or MC since those have less of a fee. However, don't avoid this place if you have AMEX only. We've already come here multiple times, and we'll be coming back. We want this place to stick around! read more

Let me start by saying, I do not eat sushi. However, I would 100% recommend this place to everyone. Their chicken teriyaki is so good, the rice is cooked perfectly and the veggies are soft but not mushy. Their tempura vegetables are AMAZING. Spicey tuna roll was a 6 out of 10. It could have been colder. Tuna was kind of sloppily inside the roll. Ambiance in the restaurant was so so. I could see a lot of cables and cords from lighting on the walls. 3 college kids were chatting the whole time I was there, but took a quick break to take down my order. read more

1st time at this sushi place and it was great! The quality of the sushi was fresh and the flavors were on point. Food: I had the jala jala roll, cucumber salad and spicy garlic edamame. I absolutely lived the cucumber salad. The jala jala roll had great flavor with the spicy tuna topped with a jalapeño popper. It was spicy but not too hot. Service: the service was okay. She was really nice but because it was so busy, they could've had someone else to help take orders, etc.. Overall the server did the best she could with a packed house. The lady who helped me didn't seem to be very happy being there. Foods decent, but they need to have more meat on their rolls. Also, if you get a lunch special be sure to ask for tempura sauce. You should be getting it without asking since there is tempura in the platter but there isn't so thank goodness I asked for "extra" after i received my meal. I always do that just incase it's forgotten. read more

This place is tiny but good, I tried the spicy tuna roll along with the sushi sampler and was not disappointed. My daughter tried the tempura udon and she was satisfied. The only tiny problem or issue I have with this place is that they don't have a restroom for their customers. I was debating a 3 star but went for the obvious. Great food, I usually get the teriyaki beef with rice, vegetables and salad. It's so delicious. I don't like sushi but they have quite a selection to choose from other than sushi. Their tempura is off the charts so good. It's very busy around lunchtime I haven't been around dinner time. You can call in your order and they'll have it ready for you. It's quite small but it's worth the trip to have a meal and they'll wait on you. I don't know if they have restrooms for customers but it is a very clean place. read more

Sushiholic has a 5-star average for a reason. Great service, clean and cute dining room, delicious sushi. I got a salmon roll and California roll on my first visit. The rolls, compared to other sushi places I've been, were huge. And utterly delicious. Although they have the standard flavors, they put a creative spin on a few of them which was a delightful surprise. Went there for a quick bite before the movies. The sushi was fresh and delicious!! We got 2 diablo rolls because they were that good, the green chutney totally makes the roll; and a sun kissed roll with a mango and avocado salad. Definitely coming back here again. The service was great, the servers greeted us and smiled the whole time and even asked us if we enjoyed the food. Also our bill was under $40. read more

This review is LONG overdue. My boyfriend and I discovered Sushiholic several months ago, and we literally have been hooked ever since. I was never a big sushi person until I came here, and now we come every single week. We always get the spicy garlic edamame, baked salmon roll, and crunchy shrimp rolls. The food NEVER disappoints, and the staff is so friendly and welcoming to us. I've tried to branch out to other sushi places since we discovered Sushiholic, but I've yet to find one that comes close in terms of the food and price point. Wow! What a pleasant surprise this place was! My wife and I walked in and were immediately greeted by Sam, a very friendly employee. He helped us with our food selection, steered us toward the green iced tea (very good, btw) and put the order in. Before we knew it, the food was brought out. VERY high quality! Nicely sized portions too. The music was amazing as well. I highly recommend this restaurant, and will definitely add it to our small group of "to go" places in the area. read more

When it was time to pay, another employee helped us. We had to point out that the ramen never came and ask for it to be removed from the bill. His response was simply, "Sorry about that, let me take it off. Here's your total." There was no real sense of concern, apology, or effort to make the situation right. Mistakes happen, but the lack of communication and customer service is what made this experience so disappointing. Staff could benefit from additional customer service training and more awareness of their guests' needs. Unfortunately, after this experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend this restaurant to others.

Both were good, but personally, I think their spicy ramen is the stronger choice. The Spicy Kimchi Tonkotsu is perfect when I want something warm, comforting, and a little spicy. It's not overwhelmingly hot, the broth has good depth, and the toppings feel generous. My girlfriend usually gets the Yummy Tummy, which is a salmon roll, and I've stolen enough bites to say it's legitimately good. The salmon tastes fresh, the ingredients are well-balanced, and the roll is seasoned nicely without being too heavy. At first, this was just a convenient neighborhood ramen and roll spot near my girlfriend's place. But after coming back multiple times, I realized I actually crave this place. It may not look like some flashy destination restaurant, but it's a genuinely good neighborhood spot that keeps me coming back. 5 stars from me. One thing I'll add is that my girlfriend has ordered delivery from here a few times, and she says it's not nearly as good as dining in. The food tastes much better when you eat it at the restaurant, and she also feels like the portions seem smaller with delivery. To make matters worse, one girl serving us sounded completely high and spoke so softly we couldn't hear a word she said, while another male server angrily grabbed the patio door and flung it open right next to us. Worst of all, the hygiene here is a major concern. We found hair on our sushi rolls. Between the completely checked-out, aggressive service and the hair in our food, this was a terrible experience. Save your money and go somewhere else in Buena Park.

They gave us two bowls of complimentary miso soup (which our toddlers loved). Food came out relatively quickly. It definitely has mom n' pop vibes which I love. Decor was minimal but clean and the restaurant was well maintained. I think the place would make a nice casual dinner date. Food/Value (4/5): We ordered the udon with 4-piece spicy tuna roll combo, the mixed tempura appetizer, a baked salmon roll and a California roll. The total came out to $51.25. Prices are super fair for what you get, especially if you're craving special rolls or want a little of everything (they have so many combos). I'll review our food specifically below: -Udon & spicy tuna combo (3/5): Udon came in a pretty big bowl with udon, fish cake, green onions, and tempura flakes. Udon was nice and chewy, but the soup itself felt like it could use more depth. I visited this location for the first time on a Monday evening around 7:00 PM. While I expected it to be busy, the experience was disappointing from the start. Upon entering, there was no greeting from staff--only a lack of acknowledgment. I asked about the process to add my name to the waitlist and inquired about the estimated wait time for a party of two, but my question went unanswered. I was simply told to provide my name and phone number. After waiting approximately 41 minutes--and observing several parties leave--I anticipated being seated soon. However, a group of five arrived, were immediately accommodated, and seated ahead of me. When I followed up about my wait time, I was briefly told "five minutes," but after another 10 minutes passed with no update, I decided to leave. Overall, the lack of communication and organization was frustrating and disappointing. I would recommend considering Tokyo Sushi instead, where the food and service are consistently great. read more

We regularly get the chicken teriyaki combination with vegetable tempura and spicy tuna tolls for takeout. I like how they have the foresight to use containers that have a hole in the corner to let the steam out so the tempura would stay crispy and not soggy. The chicken teriyaki is delicious and the both the California rolls and spicy tuna rolls are good too. I can do without the Christian music playing in the background of the restaurant but thankfully I'm usually only there long enough to pick up the food and leave. read more

If you go here, you must get the pink lady roll! the reason I went to this sushi joint was because of yelp. I read a couple of reviews and the pink lady roll was mentioned a couple of times. From the moment you step in here, you get greeting nicely.
