[[HIGHLIGHT]]Quiet sushi spot on a main drag.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Everything hit the spot. Food was a B+. Parking and entrance are in the rear of the building.

Delicious, I ate here while in town for work and the food was tasty, great price and good portions.

Sushiman has an extensive menu. They have tons of creative rolls, bento boxes, teriyaki, udon, soups, salads, kitchen specials and so on. It took me quite awhile to pick what I wanted so I kept it simple since it was my first time ordering from here. I got the Spicy Chicken Coconut Soup and the Shrimp Fried Rice. The soup sounded promising but in all honesty I had a very hard time eating it. It had a good broth but it wasn't at all spicy. The chicken was tender but the chunks were too big and I needed to break them up. The cellophane noodles were hard to get to with a spoon, you really needed a spoon and a fork for this. I ate half of it and gave up. So why the four stars you ask. The Shrimp Fried Rice was fantastic. I just wrote a review for China King and their Shrimp Fried Rice, which after tasting Sushiman's I think this place has a slight edge over them. The shrimp are huge and clean. There are no bean sprouts and I appreciate the fact that they also put in egg and green onions. My only minor issue is there were many regular onions for me to pick out and the shrimp still had their tails on. I never understand that in any dish. I can't eat it why is it there. Can't wait to try more items from them.

"You have great miso soup," I said to the manager/owner on the way out. She smiled. "It's because we spend on the best ingredients. No advertising." And it's true. While the interior can sometimes appear utilitarian, if you get the right seat, it's like any other Asian restaurant in the suburbs. But the quality of the food makes it stand out. Craig LaBan would never hear of this place and wouldn't visit, either. But that's his loss. I could have docked it a star because servers are eager and anxious, rather than experienced, but --- the fish! Order the things you like best a la cart, or ask for something off menu that you know they can do. They will accommodate.

Went here for my mom's birthday and got the chicken and shrimp teriyaki, HUGE portion and it was absolutely incredible. The chicken was to die for and the veggies were very crisp and fresh. My mom got her favorite salmon tacos. Grey place and great service

Everything was so fresh and prepared to order. It took some time for the sushi to hit the table, but made sense because it was prepared so fresh! This was one of the sushi spots that I have been to that actually has big portion size and the rolls are tight and not falling apart. My sister suggested this spot for dinner one night and it was a winner in my book! Besides the sushi which was very tasty and filling, they served hibachi so my 7 year old could enjoy dinner as well. The sushi menu was huge and there were so many different types of rolls to choose from, it was difficult choosing just a few. The interior of the building is very open, and clean. The staff are friendly and helpful and really good at their jobs. They gave us a heads up that it would take some time to get the sushi out so we enjoyed the time waiting by sipping on some wine, since its BYOB- which is always a good thing!

I've had some hits and misses here. They're a half price sushi place, and I always appreciate that. Usually the food is of good quality, but I've ran into some soggy, chewy nori with their rolls here. Also, strangely enough I have had issues here with other dining patrons being aggressive and obnoxious which is unusual - this isn't the restaurant's fault, but it's very odd. I haven't had any issues with the staff and service is usually fine, but the clientele that comes here makes it uncomfortable to dine in. Once again, I have no idea why this is, but on two separate occasions there have been issues with other groups causing a huge disturbance in the restaurant. And FYI, it's always been on a Sunday afternoon, not a rip-roaring Saturday night or anything. Oh well, I guess it's take out only for me from now on.

I just found out about this hidden gem 5 minutes from my house. So as a huge sushi fan, I had to order a couple of rolls to try. I was not disappointed. Lots of flavor and color in the rolls. Everything tasted delicious and it became a once a week trip for me to this place. The Godzilla Roll is a must try.

Probably one of my favorite spots to grab sushi now around northeast philly! This place is right behind Murray ave middle school in huntingdon Valley. I ordered takeout sushi lunch special for $10 and it came with pieces of sushi and California roll and also salad and miso soup on the side. And I also placed another order in of chicken tempura roll on the side. The sushi was super fresh and really good. Place is kinda hidden but you can see their sign up front and there's parking in the back of the place. The entrance is also in the back as well. Inside looks very nice and clean. I will definitely be coming back here for more sushi.

Woondal - Philadelphia, PA | 0.5 out of 5…read more I came to Woondal with my family with high expectations after reading the glowing reviews, but unfortunately, we were all extremely disappointed. The food was everything you don't want in a good meal. Nearly every dish tasted like it had been microwaved rather than freshly prepared. The flavors were completely off--dry, bitter, overly salted, and somehow still tasteless at the same time. We ordered the Drums of Heaven, Chicken Spring Rolls, Shrimp Biryani (especially awful), Chicken Shashlik, and Beef Biryani. Every single dish was a letdown. The biryanis lacked aroma and depth, the meats were dry, and nothing tasted balanced or thoughtfully cooked. The only redeeming item was the chai I ordered after the meal, which I needed just to help settle my stomach. This is, without question, the lowest rating we have ever given a restaurant since I began writing reviews on Yelp. Based on our experience, I genuinely question the validity of the many high-rated reviews this place has received. We rate Woondal 0.5 out of 5. I strongly do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. Save your money--you'd honestly be better off eating at the McDonald's across the street.
