You have to go to Sushiville!!! I recently moved to the area and kept seeing Sushiville every time I drove past. I decided to stop in for lunch on the weekend and I wasnt disappointed at all. I was greeted as soon as I walked in and was told I could sit anywhere along the bar. Which I was shocked since they were pretty busy. Waitress came over and took our drink order right away and the beer was ice cold! Exactly what I wanted to go along with the sushi I was going to eat. I got my favorite a dragon roll and it was delicious. I tried 4 or 5 other rolls and all were just as good. We were checked on a few times to make sure our waters were full and we were ok. All the staff were friendly and the manager made sure to come by and talk to everyone. (I like that touch a lot) Also the music was great too. Just stopped in On a Saturday for lunch for my first time. Greeted right away and the staff was very nice and took drink orders right away. They have a shockingly good variety of sushi, rolls and apps on the conveyor belt and new items added throughout our visit. When we went to pay the owner brought us our check and was so friendly. We asked why online reviews were so bad when everything was so good. Sushiville is under new ownership and they are working very hard to make it a great sushi spot here in Gresham. I have been going to sushiville a long time like 10 years. 10 years ago they were boring, just ok, and inexpensive... Then in the past few years it started going downhill... Tonight? I don't know what happened someone is straighten stuff up in there that place elevated itself not just fresher but the menu is different and the items they used to have are just made with three times the quality... This visit to sushiville I mean... My second best visit ever I would say 6/10, tonight? Considering it's conveyor belt affordable sushi 10/10. Wow! What a difference the new owners have made! We were warmly greeted when we first walked in. The conveyor belt was full of delicious options. My mixed tempura came within a few minutes of ordering. With the previous owners it would take 20 - 30 minutes. The food was fresh and flavorful. We met Jamy, the new owner. First time customer. We got chicken teriyaki bento box to go. The chicken was moist, fresh, and crunchy. Delicious! Pot stickers and side salad were also very good. We will definitely return for regular sushi on the belt in the near future. The restaurant interior is also very nice and we enjoyed great service as well. Sushiville is probably the best revolving sushi restaurant I've been to in Oregon. There's a non-carousel restaurant I like here, and after experiencing that place, my standards have been raised quite a bit. Honestly, though, the quality at Sushiville has been the closest match to that experience, at a much cheaper price. My partner and I have tried a few other carousel sushi restaurants, and we always leave feeling sick and uncomfortable. At Sushiville, however, we can eat a ton of plates and still feel clean and refreshed. The staff is always cheerful and the overall vibe is very positive. Visited 7/24/2017 For a small conveyor belt production sushi place this place was very good. Very reasonable on price as far as sushi goes and all the ingredients were fresh and tasty. They have a huge selection on the menu as well as rolling by on the conveyor system. The staff was extremely friendly and service was good. I tried about a dozen different types of rolls and all were very good. The star of the night was the deep fried scallops rolls. They were magnificent and I had to take two plates of those. I stopped in during the pandemic for a quick bite to eat, the fish tasted old and smelled halfway spoiled, the rice was only half cooked and smelled like a stale rice, only thing that was served decent was their miso soup. Cheap.. they work... very inexpensive... i believe there is actually one Japanese guy working there but i didn't actually see him working.. so for a bunch of people that are clocking in for a 8 hour shift that are just making hours its o.k... but like all things its the managers that don't care to read these things... i believe the staff have a huge turn over... I've never gone to a restaurant and been so disgusted by the food that I walked out - until this past weekend when we went to Sushiville. The first roll I tried was a generic roll covered in a sweet chili sauce, horrible. Just straight bad, I barley choked it down and just assumed it was a one time fluke. God I wish. Every piece of sushi we tried was warm, like it had been sitting out for far too long. Anything that was supposed to be warm, was cold to the touch. My boyfriend ordered calamari, which kept us there for much longer than we wanted, only to find out our waiter didn't even put the order into the kitchen. I hate to sound so shitty about a small business, but this place is gas station sushi at best. Do yourself a favor and go anywhere else. read more

This goes out to my fellow sushi-ish people (because this hardly counts as sushi): they make the most delicious tempura style "jalapeño poppers" with crab and cream cheese. I haven't found anything like it elsewhere and it's THE reason I will continue to return. I'm pretty low maintenance at these diy kinds of joints. I have mixed feelings about this place, their selection on the conveyor belt was pretty lackluster, the only way to get the more expensive plates (I think they were blue plates but don't remember) was to order them directly. We saw maybe 3 come around the entire time we were there. The ones we ordered were delicious and we really enjoyed them, but they took forever and were few and far between. It just doesn't make sense not to offer the more expensive plates on the conveyor belt, I would have still piled up 8 plates they just would have been $5 plates rather than $2 ones, you only hurt your own margins there. Aside from that, many of the plates seemed to have been sitting there a while, likely because there seemed to be 15 of the same 5 dishes on constant rotation so who knows how long they were there, they were VERY room temp. All of that being said we still enjoyed our meal and that is not why this is a two star review. This is a two-star review because immediately after eating my mother got severe food poisoning and spent the next two days in intense pain throwing up in our hotel. So those room temperature dishes could seriously hurt someone, please do better. read more

Tonight I tried to call in a pickup order. The host informed me that they were too busy to take a phone order at that moment, and told me to come drive down to the restaurant to place my order. When I asked why they were too busy, she hung up on me. I called back 5 times and the host kept hanging up on me. Finally, I spoke with the manager and they were completely unapologetic about the employee hanging up on me. My money will be spent elsewhere from now on. read more

We had been CRAVING sushi and excited to find this place. We were seated promptly and were happy to see everyone wearing masks. They had booths blocked off so there was space between patrons. We ate off the train and ordered one roll. Everything was average but to be expected eating sushi in a strip mall. After we were done eating, I went to use the restroom and found this disaster. There was no toilet paper to be found and dirty and clean paper towels everywhere. There was even a dirty used dinner napkin on the sink. The sign on the the paper towel dispenser- which was empty- said not to flush toilet paper. I find this odd for many reasons but one being they didn't have any toilet paper. If I had gone in before our meal I would never have eaten here. It was disgusting. I notified an employee on our way out and she laughed and said "oh sorry." We drive past this place all the time so we decided to finally try it. We had our toddler with us and discovered this place is not meant for kids- no booster seats, no high chairs. Limited booths. They have juices but no kids cups. Server came by once to give us drinks and see if we wanted to order anything and never came back until we flagged her down for the check. Food is cheap, as expected, and low quality. We arrived around noon and I'm guessing they get busy for lunch because they were making massive amounts of food in advance- the entire belt was stacked 2-high and they had many stacks of sushi prepared in advance, sitting and waiting to be put on the belt. How have I never done a review for Sushiville? I love this place! Sushiville is a sushi-boat place where you can pick off the carousel, or order off the menu if you want something you don't see, or something a bit fresher or warmer. They do all the basics, but the item I come and get EVERY TIME I go is their cream cheese wontons. Oh my scrumptious goodness!!! Deep fried wontons filled with cream cheese and covered in sugar -- I'm drooling just thinking of them! The only knock I give Sushiville is that if you get there in the off-rush hour, their hot food isn't always hot (although you can order through a waiter/waitress to get a fresh set. Also, there have been a few times I have been there when their deep fryer has been down (once), or they were out of chicken (twice), or out of gyoza (twice). But the rest of it makes up for it all! Don't forget to pick up a stamp card so that when you turn into a frequent visitor, you can save some cash!! read more

Absolutely will be coming back. My boyfriend and I ate here for his birthday. The service was great and attentive. Anything we didn't see on the conveyor belt, we were able to order from one of the wait staff. The chiefs are right there too if you have any questions or special request! We recommend the crab jalapeno poppers, the calamari roll, and the yakisoba noodles for sure! Oh and the sesame donuts are a great intermission as you scope out new items! Figured since I eat here at least 2x a week that I'd better write a review. I eat here regularly for the following 2 reasons: 1. My time is very limited and I can sit down and eat my lunch pretty much immediately. 2. In Gresham quick nutritious lunches are hard to come by. The sushi here isn't bad it's just not that great. Stick with the rolls here or cooked fish. They started getting frozen fish about a year ago and the quality of the sashimi went downhill. I really don't notice in the rolls but eating the nagiri or shashimi isn't doable anymore for me anymore. They do have a good selection of rolls and the chefs will happily make any request. I always root for the underdog and unfortunately, Sushiville hasn't had the best rep in the past, but I've always gone because I love Sushi and it's close and convenient. After today, I will not be returning. The last 2 times they have rang up my plates wrong. The first one I caught it, and said to the server I was overcharged. She apologized, but it happened again today. I'm assuming it's because they will total it out and take the remaining dollars for tips. I added up my plates twice. The total should of been 11.75 and she told me "14.00". Too much of a coincidence for it to happen two times in a row. I wasn't going to be petty for a couple dollars, and when it comes to that I always assume "someone must need it more than me". But it definitely doesn't give them the right to take money. Of all the places to eat Sushi at in Gresham...This place is tops on my list! I love the Sushi-go-round and the Sushi is always fresh, tasty, and reasonably priced. If you don't see your favorite roll come by, you can always special order a roll at no additional charge. I love the Dynamite and Spider rolls...they are my favs! Plenty of import beers and hot food (ie: Teriyaki Chicken) can be ordered from the kitchen. What more can a sushi fan ask for?!? I would love to experience their other locations to see if there is consistency between locations. For now Gresham Sushiville is my top pick! My only complaint is that their Gresham location has very limited seating. Only a couple of booths, otherwise you're sitting at the sushi-go-round. If you bring little kids, you may have to wait for a booth. read more
