    Old-Fashioned Chocolate - 2 Specialty Cake Slices

Can't comment on ambiance or service as I have been ordering delivery DoorDash lately. But can vouch for the taste of their cakes for sure. My usuals are Old fashioned chocolate cake Marble cake Both are usually fantastic. I have also tried their cupcake combo of 4 those are great as well. This time around I tried the seasonal strawberry cake slice and didn't enjoy that at all. So had to take a star off for how far off that flavor felt like.

We placed an order through DoorDash to celebrate a coworker's birthday and chose the carrot cake. It arrived fresh, moist, and absolutely delicious. You really can't go wrong with SusieCakes! We'll definitely be back to try a different flavor next time.

Stopped in for a TGTG bags after craving some of their delicious cake. * Spring/summer hours are possibly longer now & made short queue at 7:30ish, but staff got through it quickly * Bag price increased since early 2025 and portion sized was cut by more than half. 2025 orders tended to contain 1 slice of cake, some variety of 3-4 cupcakes, & a large cookies. * March 2026 order contained 1 box of 4 cupcakes only - tasty but not as great as I''d remembered it Maybe the bakery decided to cut portions & release more bags instead? TGTG bag is still a fair value compared to menu prices, but I don't think we'll try SusieCakes again.

SusieCakes is a tiny, cute shop in downtown Willow Glen. I like it from time to time, but my family found too sweet for their taste. The cake is dense yet still fluffy and does not skimp on the buttercream. If you are new to SusieCakes, I would start with the Celebration Vanilla Cake since it is their most popular flavor. I gravitate toward their seasonal cakes. The Cranberry Orange was just okay to me, but I really enjoyed the Summer Berry cake. The chocolate cake may be good for chocolate lovers, but it was not for me. The staff are nice, happy to help, and love the quick service. I'd come back if I was craving something very sweet, though it would not be my first on my list if I wanted cakes.

SusieCakes in downtown Willow Glen is such a cute little dessert stop. There's public street or lot parking nearby, and while indoor seating is limited, the shop itself is charming and inviting. They have tons of options from cupcakes and cookies to cake slices. I originally went in for a cupcake, but the whoopie pie started calling my name. The cookies were chewy, and the cream filling wasn't overly sweet, which I really liked. Definitely a yummy dessert and very satisfying. The only downside is the price. Almost $8 for a whoopie pie feels a bit steep, but the quality is there. I'd absolutely come back, especially to try their cakes next time.

Service is ALWAYS AWESOME at this location. Ashley was super sweet, welcoming, and patient on explaining the reward program to me. I picked up a slice of the Banana Chocolate Chip Cake: baked with ripe bananas and semi-sweet chocolate chips, filled and frosted with cream cheese frosting. I am excited to try this new flavor (for me)! Thank you again Ashley!

Stopped by after dinner to try the limited-time See's Candy Scotchmallow collaboration. Ordered the four-pack -- a chocolate cupcake topped with salted buttercream and half a piece of Scotchmallow. The cupcake was moist with a tender crumb, and the buttercream was delicious with just the right amount of salt. We also tried a red velvet cupcake and a German chocolate cupcake -- both were very good. SusieCakes continues to deliver when it comes to cakes and cupcakes. The whoopie pies are huge, and their flavor selection is always impressive. Service was good, the location is well lit, and the display case was fully stocked. Parking can feel a bit far from the front, but there is a lot behind the building, even at night. The area itself is lively and active. Definitely a go-to for cupcakes and cakes.

I came for the cupcakes. I had the chocolate and red velvet, which were a bit sweet but still good. I wish that I saw the seasonal pineapple upside down cake before I ordered. There was a long line on Sunday morning. A promotional sign by the line could help advertise.

popped by susie cakes for a post lunch dessert last month and grabbed a slice of their cake and a mini cupcake decorated for st pattys day. The cakes here are more on the sweeter side imo but they're so decadently rich in flavor and they are scrumptiously good! satisfied my sweet tooth for the day!

    Nice assortment of cupcakes

It's just so convenient for me cause I live in Willow Glen. They always taste great, but they always just seem a little bit small. I think I'm just spoiled by nothing Bundt cake, Whole Foods cupcakes, and other brands. But they do taste really good and they always look very pretty. It works out really well when you get lucky and score a Parking spot behind them. Pretty sure I ordered six today and only got five. I need to double check my receipt to see what they charged me. I'm sure they'll make Make good on it if I really did pay for six and only got five. They're reliably good and reliably have lots of inventory so to speak. So it's just super convenient. Their cookies are really yummy too.

The chocolate and red velvet cake were amazing! Super moist and not overly sweet.

Amazing cakes. Super moist and not overly sweet. I tried the red velvet and chocolate.

Ordered a cake for my aunt's birthday. Pros- the cake came out just as I imagined in my head! It was also very tasty- both tiers (one lemon, one chocolate)! Cons (w/a pro!) - cake wasn't ready at requested pick up time, but their customer service was really good... pick up time was 11am... I arrived just as they opened the door. The cake was still being decorated, so while we waited they offered to give us cupcakes and we declined (too early for sweets, plus we were going to eat the birthday cake right after lunch!) Turns out they added 4 cupcakes to our bag/box of cookies we bought. I thought that was really nice. I had no idea they did that until much later in the day!

We don't get cakes for our kids' birthday anymore since we usually have a lot of leftovers. We end up getting cupcakes since it's easier for the guests and we can get different flavors that our kids' guest can choose from. I like to try different places and Susie Cakes came up on my search on Maps when I was picking up the party tray for my son's 14th birthday. The location is in downtown Willow Glenn and they have parking in the back of the shop which made it convenient. The cupcakes are a little pricey but the cupcake is very good. I opted to get the mini cupcakes and got the chocolate, velvet, and vanilla. I picked up the vanilla and strawberry flavor for the regular size cupcake. All the kids and adults enjoyed the cupcakes. The kids took some of the cupcakes before I was able to take a picture but the velvet were the first to go. The staff were very helpful. The place was very clean and there were not many people inside when I came in. The cupcakes they gave me were from the baking rack and not from the display case. If you are looking for cupcakes and don't want to get it from a chain bakery, check this place out.

The bakery selection offers a great mix of sweet and savory options, with classics like melon pan standing out for its crisp sugary topping and soft interior that stays light without being dry. The curry bread and croquette bread are also popular choices, both feeling comforting and freshly made rather than overly sweet or greasy. The bakery items are reasonably priced, which makes it easy to pick up multiple things without feeling like you are spending too much, and the variety means there is always something new to try. The onigiri selection is what really makes Clover stand out compared to a typical bakery. They offer a variety of rice balls with fillings like spicy tuna, tuna mayo, and unagi, making it a great option for a quick breakfast or light meal. The rice is well balanced and the fillings give each onigiri a different personality. The spicy tuna has a nice kick that comes through without overpowering the rice, while the unagi adds a sweeter, more savory flavor that works especially well with the slightly salty rice. The onigiri are a practical, satisfying choice for anyone looking for something more substantial than a pastry. Beyond the baked goods and onigiri, Clover also has drinks, sandwiches, and desserts including cakes and other pastries. The strawberry cake is a nice lighter dessert option, and the overall menu gives plenty of reasons to visit whether you are looking for breakfast, a snack, or something to bring home. The offerings feel thoughtfully selected, with enough variety to cover different cravings without making the menu feel scattered. Service is friendly and efficient, and the small size of the shop adds to the charm. Since it has become a popular local spot, some items can sell out during busy hours, so arriving earlier gives you the best selection. Parking can also be a little challenging during peak times, but the quick grab-and-go style makes the visit easy to manage. Clover Bakery & Cafe is a great stop for anyone who enjoys Japanese bakeries. The combination of fresh breads, affordable prices, and unique savory options like onigiri makes it feel different from a standard bakery. It is the type of place where it is worth picking up a few items and trying a mix of everything, leaving you with the sense that you have found a little neighborhood gem that delivers on both quality and variety.

Of course husband last minute says day of birthday celebration that we need a cake. Found Izumi…read moreCakes on Yelp and was bummed at first because the soonest online reservation for a cake would be two days later. Husband called them around 11am and they said they were in the middle of making their strawberry cakes so they could add our order in for a same day pickup at 4pm. Pickup went well and the cake was so cute and it tasted great! Like the Chinese bakery strawberry cream cake with a moist sponge cake; not too sweet, just right. Might sound basic but it was done very well. Would 100% recommend. I don't know prices for cakes nowadays but I didn't feel bad paying about $60 for a cute and tasty cake (6", strawberry cream cake). I wouldn't bank on same day pickups, I might've just been very lucky they were in the middle of making their cakes but it wouldn't hurt to try calling early in the day if you're in a pinch for a solid cake. I'm very thankful for their service!

Preordered a cake and they even did a custom message for me which was very sweet Cake was very fluffy, good cream ratio, if I were to give it a sweetness rating I'd say it's like 50% sugar (would've liked it less sweet but it's good) Very beautifully decorated - I got chocolate this time but would love to try other more specialized flavors next time It was around 60 for this cake and it fed 9 people!!
